- mikelac- right on brothaman... my thoughts xactly... -=OP - quality not quantity... granted money is involved.. but might as well give people their moneys worth... and yes, I have been on the other side... - "cater to the mainstream" ... hMm... - bunka's move to bring in better names... doesnt seem like a scurrying response to platinum... more like an innovative and audacious attempt to do something different in jersey... from my own understanding bunka has adhered to the general jersey rules and had been reluctant in the past to break from that mold... the jersey scene in almost laughable (and for those who also party in the city, you know xactly what i mean)... jersey will always be known for being cheesy and commercial (did someone say KTU) unless someone changes it... props to bunka for attempting to do something locally thats different and worthwhile... - platinum has great potential, if they do things right... - like i sed b4.. a pretty space doesnt impress me much...

i had alot of fun... saw many familiar faces... the music was good... props to bon and bunka for booking great talent... cant wait for green velvet and john michaels...

- the board is what the posters make of it... - i used to post alot back in 97/98... but the board just kept gettin dumber and dumber, and i stopped for a while... i just rececently started posting to try and promote my good friends' techno party... then got caught up in the nb politics, since i am a resident... - i personally feel like an outkast on the board for not really conforming to 'popular' opinion... that, and its seemingly very cliquey... but its all good... - maybe more people should contribute to posts worth reading...

- tangent: the statement "nothing is all about anything" is false... it defies the law of identity... - but u missed my point... - when i do go out to any venue, (unless i had some sort of social obligation), i go because of the music thats playing... a pretty space doesnt impress me much, but a dj who is playing some kick ass beats and a crowd that is in love with the Music... that is something worth investing time into... granted the whole dj thing is a socially based idea, but if i had my own personal dj in my room playin stuff that i luv, id stay and listen to him/her (and ive had my share of sunrise dj sessions--NOS)... it is about the music...

- u must admit tho... platinum is pretty cheesy... hey, theyre just followin the jersey rules... and they def adhere to em... - "better" is def a term in reference to personal judgement and tastes... but when you put certain things in comparison, some things are just obvious.. for example... britney and sade... britney: great tits, i mean taste, less filling, upbeat and fun.. sade: slow, maybe even sappy, but incredibly profound soulful romantic... different, yes; better? depends if ur talkin to a 12 year old or not... ...or in dj terms... hawtin and vicious... its almost humorous - dressing poorly has nothing to do with the appreciation of good music... it wouldnt be all about the music then, huh... is ones concern about the superficial image 'keeping it real' =OP - tangent:: ego is not bad, its the center of the Self; the alternative is a selfless existence for the sake of others... - "underground" has nothing to do with fashion or ego... just means that it is not as commercialized or glamourized as the other stuff...

actually.. its usually not a good thing when a club has to lower their age limit for their clientele (unless its for a special event or something...) usually means theyre goin down... know what i mean?
