  1. I hate television, so I guess I'm not to crazy about movies. In my opinion, television is a BIG waste of time, because there aren't too many things you can do while watching tv and movies. All i need is my MUSIC! You can do just about anything while listening to music. That's just the way I am. I don't mean to say I don't watch movies at all, it's more of a social thing. But I would rather goto a club or a lounge that plays music.
  2. I use ACIDWAV. It allows me to select the quality of recording. The only problem is it saves as wav file so the file tends to get really big.
  3. Thanks for the offer, but I'm not crazy about Luz. I will, however, let you know if i find anything regarding that whole mp3 thing.
  4. seb fontaine - prototype v. 4 cd 1
  5. I've downloaded songs from websites where they say the song expires after certain amount of days. What is the original source? I didn't keep the song till the expiration date so i never had to go around it to break it. I would be interested to know more about this technology as well, if anyone on the board knows about it. thanks
  6. I got some of the beginning of it. He did some crazy shit to Cafe del Mar. Any idea where and when he'll be in NY?
  7. Roger Sanchez - Another Chance BT - Loving you more Sonique - Feel so good Spiller Groove - If this aint love Stevie wonder vs Cleptomaniacs - All I do Stardust - Music Sounds Better with you They are not the house you hear in clubs, but more of what you would hear in a lounge. Is that the style you're looking for ?
  8. How was Sasha at ARC. I really wanted to go but I decided against it 'cause of work the next morning. I would like to see a tracklist since you already have it. Thanks
  9. Christina Milan - AM to PM
  10. I remember Boriqua Posse! I just didn't know it was by rare arts. Thanks. I will look into the Toma song. It must be in one of the old compilations.
  11. Obviously I wasn't clear enough in my statement for everyone so let me try again. My problem with the term "knowing music" is this: Everyone "knows" music ... they know bad music and they know good music. The PhD example is MY definition of the term "knowing music". And you're right it's the history of music and it is considered art. I NEVER meant to say only PhDs can tell good music from bad. What I was trying to say is people appreciate music, not "know" music. And different people appreciate different types of music. Yes the clubbers do count because they APPRECIATE a djs efforts and skills in remixing and getting a crowd jumping. Basically, no one "knows" good music because good is the opinion of the person listening to it. Because one person likes tennaglia doesn't mean that a JP fan can say he/she doesn't "know" music. GET IT ?!?!?! If anyone has a better definition of what is meant by "knowing music" i would love to hear it. I just think the term "know" has been thrown around without thinking about what it really means.
  12. Mahdi, I don't think I know those tracks. Could you give the artist-title so I can look for it? Thanks In my experience as a dj (i admit isn't much) these classic tracks always get the crowd going. Not in a club, obviously, but in parties and bars. I still play them every now and then.
  13. Thanks, I really appreciate it, but I think I'm going to go with AtomixMP3. Again, thanks for the offer.
  14. I've tried two things that might help. First is PCDJ. I downloaded the free version, but there's a version that you can buy that does the beatmatching and the exporting to wav for you. The other is AtomixMP3. The free version allows you to match beats and a bunch of really cool effects. You can buy the full version for $60 bucks and you can record too. I'm probably going to buy the AtomixMP3 soon myself. I could easily find an illegal version but I think they makers of AtomixMP3 deserve $60 for inventing an incredible piece of software.
  15. Thanks. I just had to vent. It was getting out of hand. And I think my statement might have worked 'cause it almost stopped that thread. But if the shit continues, I'm going to have to find another messageboard, you know what i mean? Take care
  16. I'm not quite sure what you mean? Do you want to know how we mix the songs as in non-stop mix, or making a cd with different songs, or what software we use to burn cds?
  17. "If you want Drama, you came to the right place 'cause I'll give it to you, Drama" - Club 69
  18. Good topic ! More on Latin Side: Boriqua Anthem - C&C (classic) I like to move it - Reel 2 Real (another classic) Mueve la cadera- Reel 2 Real In de Ghetto - Bad Yard Club and Crystal Waters A mover la colita More on the house side: Pasilda - Afro Medusa
  19. This is fucking pathetic. Some of you like JP, some of you don't. Some of you like SF, some of you don't. Some of you like LUZ, some of you don't. Get over it !!! Everyone has their own preference, deal with it, you're not going to change anyone's taste by calling them names. And I don't really understand this shit about "knowing music" The only people who "know" music are people who have higher education, a masters or phd in music. You don't "know" music by going to a club. Regardless, the difference is in appreciation. A producer may have more appreciation for a song that is well strutured and many complex beats. It may not be a big club hit but the song could be the shit. But others, majority of us, like a song for what it does to the crowd and the chills you get when you hear it. There are a bunch of you that have heard Luz in SF and are in love with it because you appreciate what it did to you and the crowd. Others, either you've heard in SF or not, don't feel the vibe and don't appreciate. That's fine, so get over it. Let's move on to bigger and better things. The longer you guys bitch about which dj has the bigger dick, the more people are getting turned away from the board. This means less informative discussions. So shake hands get on with it. If you have have a criticism, make it constructive. And that's all I have to say about that.
  20. Where is DJMag based out of? 'Cause you should expect bias according to who rated the djs and where the people who voted are.
  21. Now I know what I want for X-mas Thanks, I was waiting for the PC friendly version.
  22. haha I actually know the song you're talking about. My little cousin knows all the words and runs around the house singing it. For those of you who don't know the song, my cousin is 10. So that gives you an idea of what type of song it is. She's been singing it all summer so maybe it deserves atleast a nomination ..
  23. You're not talking about Din Da Da - Kevin Aviance , are you? It's pretty old, many would consider it a classic.
