  1. hmm .. are you sure? I just checked on cdnow.com and the song I'm talking about is Robi-Rob's Boriqua Anthem [CD-SINGLE] -- C & C Music Factory It's latin house. Not that cdnow.com doesn't make mistakes, but I just wanted to confirm. Also, I think I made a mistake earlier. I said Boriqua Posse is by Two without hats, but on cdnow.com it's Rare Arts. So maybe that's where the confusion is.
  2. Try MPEG Suite or Audacity. Both are available for free on download.com. Both should do the job.

    MP3 player

I get my mixes from soulseek (www.slsk.org). I just search for the djs by name. tranceaddict.com also have some sets you can download. By the way, which MP3 player do you have
  4. Were these already mentioned? Armand Van Helden - Witch Doctor C&C - Boriqua Anthem
  5. I agree !! But I think there are still a few missing Soho - Hot Music <- My all time favorite Lil Louie - I'm hot for you Maurice - this is acid <-great shit Two without Hats - Boriqua Posse Also as an added note, i thought it funny when you asked for classic house and everyone had their own opinion on what is classic. I thought all songs that were posted were great, but it also gives you an idea at everyone's age
  6. Everyone has their own way of making a demo. I first connect the mixer output to my laptop and record the entire set as wav file. I use an old software: ACIDWAV. Then I use a trial version of a CD burner program called CDRWIN. It allows me to create a cue sheet where I can enter the lengths of each of the tracks. So I don't have to cut and paste, I simply load the entire set with the cue sheet. Then when I record it automatically sets the tracks. I e-mailed the creators of the software to purchase it, but they didn't respond. The only limiation of the trial version is that it records at 1X. So I'm happy with my method, but others work too. Let me know if you want a copy of the softwares I mentioned. Again, both are trial versions but they do what I need.
  7. First of all you should try soulseek (www.slsk.org). I find it better than kazaa. Second, I think i found it on soulseek: Wake up - Nu Civilization (not New). Try that spelling and you might get it on kazaa.

    Pioneer EFX 500

Yup, that's exactly what i did to get the half effect. Anyway .. I'll try it again some other time. That should do it, and if it worked on the Gemini then it should work on the stanton too. Take care
  9. Wham - Wake me up Just kidding, Can you describe the song a little more? Any vocals?, House/techno?

    Pioneer EFX 500

Thanks for responses guys, The mixer I have is Stanton rm-100, and it has the send and return that you mentioned (lexdj). I've attached the file with a picture of the back. I have tried to use the FX (snd and rtn) to plug in the efx. But that's when only 1/2 that channel gets affected. I guess what i'm wondering is if there is a setting on the efx or the mixer that i haven't set properly. lexdj - how do you select the channel? Do you have a button near the channer that you have to press (AUX)? Anyway, I appreciate the help. Thanks

    Pioneer EFX 500

I have a question related to this topic. I've set up the way it's described and it works fine. What I really want to do is be able to use an effect on a specific channel rather than the entire output. This way i can test the effect on my headphones before i play it. I have a Stanton mixer (i forget the model) but it has auxiliary input and output. I tried plugging the efx into the aux input and output and using the auxiliary button (for corresponding channels) and it kind of works. The effect is channel specific but it doesn't replace the whole channel, 1/2 is processed and the other 1/2 of it is original. So this actually takes away from the effect. I was wondering if any of you have successfully configured you setup as I have described. Thanks a bunch

  15. I wasn't there so I'm not positive, but the first one sounds like Depeche Mode - Only When I Loose Myself (Lexicon Avenue remix) Not sure about the second one.
  16. I have the same problem. It's because the router acts as a firewall. Even though I haven't figured out the solution yet, there should be a way. I'll let you know if i figure it out.
  17. I've never had any of the above problems. I'm using Windows2000 and I have 128 MBs of RAM.
  18. I was wrong ... it's Cassius - Sound of Violence (narcotic thrust mix), nevermind
  19. I think DeepDish opened with that (after the jam master jay tribute). Who did the song? Thanks

  23. Last night was my first time going to a DeepDish performance and I was wondering how it compared to their previous performances. I was surprised when DeepDish played a tribute to Jam Master Jay as their first track. But I also think it was very big of them to take time out to show their respects to him. I thought it was great that they did that. As for their performance I thought it was pretty solid (minus the little cd skipping at one point). One thing I found a little annoying at times is when he would drop the beat to complete still. I think it's a great crowd motivator at times, but i thought he did it too often. Does he normally do it that often? The crowd wasn't as packed as when i went to see oakenfold there BUT I definitely enjoyed DeepDish's music more and also the fact they played longer than 2 hours All comments and criticisms are welcome.

Hello Everyone, I know I have this song in my mp3 collection but i have been trouble locating it. It has a reference to "Alice in Wonderland" It's a female vocal that at one point whispers it. Any ideas? Thanks
  25. What about Daft PUnk - Around the World and possibly Magic Carpet Ride ... I can't remember the artist right now.
