why does it always have to be a battle?? anyways i will agree w/ you about lawler, he's not my fav dj in the world. but i work for a label that he (along w/ pappa, DH, DT sasha, digweed, deep dish etc) have all had releases on. so i support and hype them for those reasons, but honestly i'm there to see my friend james zabiela on this night. sorry you are so narrow minded to not be able to accept a dj just cause he's not from america. i personally don't like to see the same dj week in week out. that's why i go out to the international nights. i see those dj's a few times a year, i see oscar a few times a year. there is not a single dj that space/maze/spi/nerve brings or has as residents that i have not seen at least 2-4 times during this past 12 month period. and that is enough for me. i'm all for variety. i go out on average 2 times a week and have seen just about every quality dj that has stepped foot in miami or lives in miami... that includes oscar, roland, ralph, juan mejia, jimmy t, jon cowan, austin leeds, stryke, DHM among MANY others! even stuck my neck out and brought a few on my own. and i am proud of that. but saleen, to quote from casino, because it's never been more appropriate... "your kind will never understand the way it's done out here."

CHANGE YOUR DAMN SCHEDULES!!! how about may 17?? or any other saturday night? does anybody do a quality saturday night in this city anymore??

the clubs along washington ave have no one to blame but themselves for the drop off of quality events. if it gets much worse, i fully expect the city to come down harsh. the influx of thugs that come over from mainland dade are really ruining the beach.

better set times would have been: Roland 10 to 12 James Zabiela 12 to 3 Steve Lawler 3 to 6 Oscar G 6 to close Patio Roland Open to 3 James Zabiela 3 to 6 Steve Lawler 6 to 10 Ivano 10 to Close Hip Hop Radamas all night you are paying lots of cash for these dj's and ivano is the one playing the longest set?? but either way, i'm there for my boy zabiela!

ah yes... bliss comes through once again! i love these therapy nights. infusion is well on their way to being the next underworld. if you saw them at conference, you know what i'm talking about! count me in for sure. not to mention my birthday is the next day on june 14.

...another added note. dave seaman's 'GU012 buenos aries' was based on a set he played there the next night after he played one of his bliss residency nights at legendary groovejet. so you can say we missed out twice. the cd's are VERY reflective of what dave was playing the night here in miami. he played w/ jon cowan and andry nalin from nalin and kane and i'm almost positive the night was a renaissance night. man i miss groovejet.

originally danny tenaglia's 'GU017 london' was going to be from miami, based on his WMC 2000 set at space. after the night danny decided that he could not justify that amazing set (the best set i've personally ever heard!) on only 2 cd's so he changed it to london instead. GU has always let the dj's pick the city that they want to do their volume from, so if you want a GU miami, then start bugging the dj's. also if it's any consolation prize for you guys, GU is introducing a new series in the next couple months called 24/7. danny howells and sander kleinenberg are doing the first 2 volumes. danny is basing his volume on his conference sets this year. mainly the one at bed. so there you go.

DRESS CODE?? that was so 5 years ago. give me a break. lose the fucking dress code bullshit attitude. people want to come out and have a good time. it's things like this that had given the old space it's crappy reputation. it's only been in the last year that they seemed to shed it. looks like it's back to the old days then. which really sucks.

nice to see that space added zabiela to the lawler night in may. that should be really good. i'd like to see james out on the terrace. have him open the main room. and roland open the terrace, then have lawler take over the main room, move james onto the terrace. then have oscar take over the main room and have lawler close the terrace. now that would be a kick ass night!

the # 1 problem in miami is there is no coordination between venues. i know it's a competition, but everyone is competing for a small slice of what the pie once was. too many conflicting events drawing and dividing from the same small (and getting smaller) crowd. if space made sasha and digweed quarterly residencies they would completely corner the market adding in what they already hold. space will be the only large club to survive. ...and to be honest, that's the only large club miami needs. the "music" scene is going to move into the smaller venues as this town, as well as many others, do not pull the #'s to support "music". the entire economics of the scene have to change. it's already starting w/ the easy access to numerous guestlists and open bars. it's finally going to work again when they lower prices. you will make more money by having $10 cover and $4-6 drinks all night long than 500 guestlist spots an 2 hours open bar. at this point, space's popularity allows them to stick it to us w/ high prices. but no other venue in miami can or should expect the same.

thats cause black works. if i want art, i'll go to a gallery. but it is nice to know that it will change from month to month. on another note, i love the booth. it's placed perfectly. it's clean inside as well. nice design, not to fancy but clean. still a bit odd they only chose to put 2 decks in there though. but then again... most dj's are using the cdr label now. good choice of cdj1000. they moved the bar exactly where i would have. at lola the bar sucked up so much space and made it hard for the floor to get worked up. during the bedrock party at conference. that place was going off. i miss days like that in miami. nerve has the perfect location and size to create that vibe again.
