  1. Well, I saw Sven Vath at Twilo a couple of months ago. I was expecting a much better performance from him than what he did on that night. He started playing around 2, and most of the time he looked more worried about talking to some chicks in the DJ booth than spinning. I couldn't feel the music, got very disappointed and left somewhere between 5-6. ------------------ Our understanding of life is based on the perception of reality, and not the reality itself.
  2. I see spoonyd's point on NYC not ready for Tiesto (though I don't completely agree with it). NYC still remains a city for house, and not so much for trance. I have to admit that lately things have been changing, and more and more great trance DJ's visit NYC (PVD, Taucher, ...). But there's still a long way to go. Tiesto is half of Gouryella (with Ferry Corsten as the other half), as well as half of Kamaya Painters (with De Goeij), half of Vimana (with Ferry again), third of Major League (with Armin and Carmen), and the producer for Allure. ------------------ Our understanding of life is based on the perception of reality, and not the reality itself.
  3. It's not officially out yet, not until tomorrow. The track selection is really hot, very fresh tracks, almost all new to me. mhernew@hotmail.com ------------------ Our understanding of life is based on the perception of reality, and not the reality itself.
  4. Tiesto - Magik 6:Live in Amsterdam. ------------------ Our understanding of life is based on the perception of reality, and not the reality itself.
  5. Tiesto rules! My favorite dj. Magik 6 official release date is Aug. 16th. It's really hot, I already have an mp3 version of it and have preordered the original CD too. In my opinion though Tiesto's best set is Live at Energy 2000. ------------------ Our understanding of life is based on the perception of reality, and not the reality itself.

  7. I like numbers. 5. Thanx for the list! ------------------ Our understanding of life is based on the perception of reality, and not the reality itself.
  8. JP playing Children... I'm missing something here. Is he going through some sort of depression? I like JP, and I actually like Children, but I would never associate the two together. ------------------ Our understanding of life is based on the perception of reality, and not the reality itself.
  9. Tiesto followed by Ferry Corsten and PVD. ------------------ Our understanding of life is based on the perception of reality, and not the reality itself.
  10. Nice post... For me it's gotta be Dr. Alban - It's my life. So many memories with this song... ------------------ Our understanding of life is based on the perception of reality, and not the reality itself.
  11. The best relief I found so far is good, strong cognac. One shot every 30 minutes or so, and no more sore throat. After the second shot the headache is gone too. Wonder when my boss is gonna realize why I have such a happy face... ------------------ Nobody is perfect but I'm pretty fxxxin' close. -)
  12. I know this has nothing to do with NYC, but still... Am I the only one wondering howcome there is no cure for flu? Only temporary pain relievers... We got all the scientists working on high-tech deseases, and looks like no one cares about the flu, even though every single one of us gets it. I'm at work, feeling miserable, and all I can do is settle down with the idea that this how I'm gonna feel the next 3-4 days... ------------------ Nobody is perfect but I'm pretty fxxxin' close. -)
  13. Trance Nation 3 - in my opinion one of the best trance mixes. ------------------ Nobody is perfect but I'm pretty fxxxin' close. -)
  14. Check out DJ Doboy. Very close to these three. BTW, anybody else heard of Doboy? He used to be a graduate engineering student at Cornell. Nice career change... ------------------ Nobody is perfect but I'm pretty fxxxin' close. -)
  15. Some other producers that I like... Kai Tracid, Push, Transa, Fire & Ice, Fridge, Ayla, Kay Cee... ------------------ Nobody is perfect but I'm pretty fxxxin' close. -)
  16. Thanx for the replies!!! I got plenty of new names to look into. vj604 - Last time I looked into goa was almost a year ago. I didn't really like it back then, but it's definitely worth trying again, I'll check out your recommendations. Jilly, p00h, BlueAngel - I've heard a lot of stuff from Oliver Lieb. He's definitely very good, but not exactly my style. I prefer more melodic trance. One of the reasons I mentioned those 3 DJ's is they have this ability to make trance very melodic but yet not cheesy at all. back2basics - Taucher is definitely on top of my list, probably right after the ones I mentioned. All of the "Trance Allstars" DJ's are good, but he's probably the best one of them. I saw him at Webster Hall, it was probably the 2nd best performance I've seen (after PVD). Though I haven't heard Tiesto or Ferry Corsten play live. newsense and spikes - I've only heard two songs from Picotto, Magic Flight and Iguana. Have to say that I like Iguana better Thanx again for the other names. ------------------ Nobody is perfect but I'm pretty fxxxin' close. -)
  17. I'm a HUGE fan of trance, was curious about who others' favorite trance artists are... (also I might get a couple of good names I might have missed). The top 3 dj/producers for me are: 1. Tiesto 2. Ferry Corsten 3. PVD What do you guys think? ------------------ Nobody is perfect but I'm pretty fxxxin' close. -)

  19. My nick means uncle in my language. It's a sort of respect thing when a kid talks to a grown-up who is wise from years. When I was a kid I always acted like a small dzadza... ------------------ Nobody is perfect but I'm pretty fxxxin' close. -)
  20. Just a couple more "techno who things" The TERM "Techno" was first used by Kraftwerk. This word later meant different things to different people, the GENRE "Techno" developed to be different from what Kraftwerk was was playing. And their music better fits the electronica category. I completely agree that it doesn't matter who started what and who developed what. Good music is good regardless of where it came from. I just try not to seal myself in a box and limit to say NYC house... or german techno... or exclusively club music for that. ------------------ Nobody is perfect but I'm pretty fxxxin' close. -)
  21. Turntable - True this is NY, what difference does it make? I listen to the best music I can find, regardless of where I am and who made it. True house started in Chicago, but Techno was first used by Kraftwerk in late 80's IN GERMANY. Same for trance, which developed from german techno. You're saying nothing beats NYC party. Have you heard of things like Love Parade, InnerCity, or Mayday Reformation? Probably not. Europe lives on club music. Unfortunately US doesn't. ------------------ Nobody is perfect but I'm pretty fxxxin' close. -)
  22. I just downloaded your song, it's not Leave bro!!! Song name: 'Liebe' (loves in German) Artist: Ayla Album: Nirvana, released in 99. I have to say though this is not the original version, and I can't tell whose remix it is. The original is pretty good too, and ATB has a remix which I like betther than the one you got. The song is pretty old though, Ayla has other newer releases, some I like way better than Liebe. It's an awesome group. Other tracks from them you might want to check out: Outburst, Angelfalls (Elemental Force remix is awesome), Ayla Part I, Ayla Part II, Ayla Part III, and Ayla's amazing mix of Watergate - Chi Mai. If you wanna go to a club that plays this kind of music... well, gotta go to Europe for that!!! As far as NYC goes, Webster Hall gets once in a while good trance DJ's (Taucher for one), and PVD in Twilo. Hope this helped! ------------------ Nobody is perfect but I'm pretty fxxxin' close. -)
  23. My favorites at the moment are: Kai Tracid - Tiefenrausch Fridge - Paradise Ferry Corsten mix of William Orbit - Ravels Pavane Pour Une Infante Defunte Push - Till We Meet Again Allure - We Ran at Dawn Ayla - Outburst All are fresh high energy trance anthems.
