  5. agreed agreed. My friend was telling me about when he went to Ibiza and saw Carl Cox play in some shitty bar in front of only 100 people, but it turned out being one of the best nights in his life. Its all about having fun. Everyone needs to keep a positive attitude, and make the best of every situation.

  9. I have the same shit all over my walls. And crates of flyers sitting in my closet for memories...
  10. heh, when someone told me about the show, I was asking all these questions, and he was like "i can't really explain it, just go" so I know where your coming from. Here is the best explanation I can come up with. It is a very musically based production with ALOT of aerial stunts and a some sort of symbolic tribal theme. Arial stunts being people flying across the room in attached with harnesses and bunjee ropes and all of this choreographed to music. They do alot of visuals and climactic scenes that are very cool. There is live singing and drumming to amazing beats, alot of it being symbolic, but most went over my head since I think it was in Portuguese. The performers were awesome too. They really try to work the crowd. They come down into the audience and entice and dance with everyone..very cool Then the special treat is on thursdays, they have special guest djs who spin mini sets during the show. I happened to go for Josh Wink but its different every Thurs. If you click on the website I posted b4, you can find the link that has the list of djs and brings the price down from 55 to $35. All I can say is def check it out. For $35 it is very cool. I think everyone into electronic music and an open mind will like. ps. seeing cox there made the night. what a crazy animal. I only have the pic of me and him b/c they didnt allow you to take pictures during the show and my camera would have got fucked up from all the water. hopefully i can post it.
  11. OMG, I was at this show called De La Guarda tnite with Josh Winx special guest, and who do I spot standing by himself. CARL COX! So me and my friend go up to him say whats up, took pic blah blah blah. Nice guy to talk to by the way. Thennnn, during the show, there are the performers like bunjee jumping from the ceiling and doing all this awesome shit on ropes to techno beats, and all of the sudden, I see Mr. Cox suspended 30 feet in the air, flying around with another person in the show. It was hilarious cuz he's a big guy and it looked like they needed an extra harness or too to hoist him up there. The crowd went bananas tho. I thought it was pretty cool to see a superstar dj hang out with the crowd and have fun like that. I asked him what he thought about spinning in NY, he said he loved it but theres no where else to play anymore. Buuuuut, he said that will all be changing as soon as crobar opens, so that sounded promising. if anyone wants to check out this show, I def recommend. It very interactive...electronic beats....cool lights...people spray water on you to keep cool...awesome vibe. www.delaguarda.dj ENJOY. I will post the pic soon, if i can figure out how to do it.
  12. Holy Christ, me and my friends have been wondering the same exact thing. I was about to actually IM him and personally see what was up. Anyways, I will never forget back in like '97-'99 he was on EVERY flyer. More Monkey Business I/II/III were all great, and I enjoyed all the uptown underground parties. I have his original three mixtapes, and I still regard Divine Manifestin as the one of the best and most creative trance tape ever. I also have PleasureHeads first two mixtapes. The first one is absolutely INSANE!!!! I remember partying at Roseland, and Pleasurehead came up to me and some people during the party (b4 he became popular of course) hung out for a little, and then passed on his first mixtape. I mean, there were trainwrecks all over the place, but the music selection is still the best I've ever heard in the hard trance/acid realm. anyone else remember Kliprock/Joey Jeep and the rest of those guys. Ahh, those were the days. Honestly, if I could hear one old rave dj again, it would def be the Dever.

  15. it sounds very bad. I want it to sound bright and vibrant similar to a cd, but can't seem to get it right. I have run the file thru sound forge's declicker and vinyl restoration filters, then tried tweaking things left and right, but it still sounds dull and old and like a tape. Can someone help me with this. I have about intermediate experience working with file/sound editing [have sound forge and acid pro], so any help in this area would be appreciated.

  20. are you talking bout 120 essex st or Bauhaus?
  21. I completely agree with your statement. I feel that yes, edm has reached a decline, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. It means, we are in that transitional period where new music is being experimented with and ultimately will be born. Things will go back underground and shortly will follow that path from underground, to club culture, to mainstream. I for one, am looking forward to this. My question is, what does everyone think will be the new thing? Shoooting around Williamsburg and E. Village, downtowmpo seems to be picking up. also, new wave and all things rock seem to be making a huge re-surgance. I'd love to hear what other people think.
  22. there are no more nyc frequencies. the easiest way would be to buy an existing station and change formats, you rooskie.
