  1. isnt it prom party nite tnite? and for the next few weeks?
  2. Did you go downstairs? There were madd ppl there, perhaps everyone migrated there.... anywho, i thought it was funny how i was trying to hum a tech house trak to someone else and he was like bro, keep your day job. I mean, have you ever tried to hum a techno trak to have someone recognise it. Its like trying to talk tribal african with all the clicks and shit. Impossible.
  3. Yeah, I had a really good time there. Never been there b4 so I was surprised by the nice decor and couches. The open bar was great, def. have a nice time drunk talking with everyone. Also, lots of real friendly people not the dummies I am used to meeting. The place thinned out alot after the open bar ended and the music got turned down a notch, but damn, who was the first DJ? I've never heard a tech-house dj open for a vocal dj, but he was rippin it, and I was lovin it. He played Rectifier into another phat tech trak into Marco V-Godd and I was like wow. I gotta find out who that was. Sean Inc was nice too. And shouts for Sadelb for hooking up the VIP access. Thanx bro.
  4. ahhhh, i didnt even think to mention jungle. yeah, they are also masters of the decks too, but they don't rip into the lows mids and highs like techno dj's do. I met Datcyde a few years back, but aside from him, haven't been up to speed with all the new jungle cats.
  5. i think hard techno djs are the best to hear and listen to mix. IMO, they are the only djs that rampantly cut songs in and out [3mins here, 2 mins there, intro outro], take out basslines mids hi's like crazy, always fuckin with shit, and actually take turntablism to the max. If you disagree with me check out a night at Baktun for Tronic Sessions and listen to the headliner. He/She will more than likely destroy the club into pieces. Dylan Drazen is my fav. w/John Selway in close 2nd.
  6. looking for a venue thats 18+ for this sat. I got a big group and don't know where to take em'..what happened to the world sat parties? are those done?
  7. I'll also be there to check out my man Taul Paul. 1am 2nd floor bar for a meetup. peace paul
  8. is there are special newspaper dedicated to apartments?
  9. Just graduated college, and me and a bunch of people find ourselves miserable living at home. where does one begin looking for apartments in NY?... Like is there any one place that is the best to look? websites, newspapers, real estate agents, in the lobbies of buildings? any help would be awesome.
  10. Bro, not to hate too much but DJ STD probably won't get you any jobs. My friend tried getting gigs going by DJ AIDS and it didnt work out for him.
  11. of course hunny....i'll pm you later on in the week.
  12. I'll def be @EXIT for Taul Paul Fri. SF is a maybe.
  13. Thats the thing. I want to begin to learn the process of mastering but I have no one to teach me about it. Basically I am looking for a place to start looking and I am sure the rest will come together.
  14. Ok, where does one begin to learn the basics on how to master a demo/song? Is there a tutorial around the net I should be reading? I've gotten to the point where I feel some of the demo's I record need to get mastered, but I don't really know where to begin. Any help would be appreciated!
  15. Where does Rivera spin at? How come he never seems to be in the NYC area?....or I may be just soo far out of the loop I have no idea.
  16. They rocked the new Venga track "Stop and Go" at hotel oasis this SB a shitload. Its not as hot as We LIke to Party was, but not a bad hotel daytime "I don't give a fuck what is playing on the speakers as long as there are hot girls in bikinis walking around" type track.
  17. I happen to like livin on SI with all the goombahs and johnny tough guys. Oh the memories of cruising the Blvd, grabbin some 40s, hittin South Shore Country Club and then smokin a blunt at the Overpass with the Port Richmond Crew.
  18. two trax I just got: DJ Duro - Again [showtek Mix] R.O.O.S - Instant Moments [Da Flip Mix] Both r nice and hard.
  19. Oh Shit, I've been rockin that mix in my stereo for a bit now. Marco V is my man. Good taste bro. If I was in front of my home computer I would write down some of the tracks I know. Also check out Danny Howells - Live At Knebworth for a good set too.
  20. anthems from Cancun 2002: Richard F - Cookie Dough Dynamo Iio - Rapture [Riva Mix] X-Press - Smoke Machine Robbie Rivera - Funk-A-Tron [Main Mix] hrrrm....sounds pretty similar to a winter NYC tracklist.....I wasn't impressed by Cancun music too much. I have a good feeling that Acapulco was the same.
  21. I have the 2nd generation Kaoss Pad built directly into my mixer [Korg KM-2] Its got a bunch of added features like BPM EFX, which are especially useful when mixing up songs that cannot be beatmatched. It also has sampler efx which I use now and then to put in short vocals. All in all its pretty much a cheaper version of the Pioneer EFX Box. The Pioneer has more professional efx in my opinion.
  22. wow, those are like spring break '89
  23. oh my god, I forgot some of those.....MORE MORE MORE...thanx
