  1. yo i dont fucking get it. people complain that there are too many freaks, and then when the borough crowd comes people complain about that too. make up your fucking mind. its not the crowd that sucks, its you! [end rant]
  2. who is the staten island rep for this party? please pm me. thanx!
  3. ah yeah, this is it...thanx bro..!
  4. also posts the track names within the vinyl; a1, a2 etc....[audio clips would be nice too] looking for one concentrating on progressive and house..thanx in advance..
  5. need an id for a classic deep tribal track.... the vocal is "voices" [sung in two syllables voiiii-cessss] with aloooot of reverb; very tribally and deep...pretty much a classic track...anyone know the name? and oh, I looked at all the trax with Voices as the titles and it's def. not Bedrock - Voices someone's gottah know this.....??
  6. yea, i was there on sat. too. Was mostly there to hear merrit, but to also check out the venue. I think it has an awesome layout. Loved the wrap around mezzanine with the private booths, and the view from the third floor restaurant. I think SPirit has more of a club feel in my opinion and it is definitely more comfortable there than at Crobar. I hope more people get off their asses and pack this place out.
  7. yes there is. last night there was reduced for $15 and tons of comps. don't know of any specifics for tonight.
  8. nah man, it wasn't really that great last night. not a muscially driven party.
  9. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO...Crobar!! What the hell happened last night..?#@! This party was wrong on so many levels I can't even describe... I walk in around 10ish....it sucks to be put in a situation where a party was promoted as having NO LIST (especially on the boards), only to get there to be harassed by the list whores...didn't seem to be a problem....blew right past them and went in. Overheard some Eurotrash complaining they messed up his comp...didn't see anyone paying to get in. How they can afford to lose opening night door business is beyond me. Walk in, the space is really nice. Coat check was two seconds. Strolled around the Reed Room and automatically knew this party was gunna be bad. I knew coming in that there was the Electro Festival, but honestly the place was mobbed with hipsters. I don't know who reviewed the crowd was diverse, but it was completely not. It was all hipsters and then a large gay crowd. Definitely 70-30% guys. There were no club kids, no hip hop kids, no suits, no glam crowd, no nothing. There was also nowhere to aviod the electro. It was in all the rooms except one vip room. Absolutely no place to just chill. Walk into the main room and was pretty disgusted. Hipsters are definitely the worst crowd, and everyone knows this. Mostly just a bunch of rich kids just dressed down, just standing around. Absolutely no dancing was going on. Some of the performances were aight...but ehh. What happened to all the Thurs hype of acrobats, performers, the smoke effect...was there four and a half hours and didnt see or hear nothin... So I'm like whatever. I'm gunna try and still have fun..The bar wasn't too packed...Ordered a red bull vodka..$11 cha-ching.. What the fuck?? Makes sense the bar wasn't packed. I really didnt understand the mix of crowd and venue for an opening night. Lets charge upscale prices to a crowd that is known for being cheap, whiney and poor. And let's turn away 1/2 of the people that want to come in and dance, have a good time. Good forward thinking guys. Around one, the dance floor was really weak. Only a handful of people dancing...Waited and waited for something interesting to happen, but nothin really. Really wanted to hear Sumfrog, or anything with a dedicated drum pattern, but wasn't gunna suffer through the rest of the night for two hours of music. Left around 2ish. Saw a little line outside..don't know how it turned out after that... for the sake of a real club experience, I hope this was an off night.
  10. Manumission @ Club Priviledge, Ibiza - biggest club in the world i believe
  11. go to howardforums. they have all the cell phone info you could ever think of.
  12. music was aight. lawler through in alot of acid into his tracks which I havent heard from a big dj inna while. the live d&b band was kinda hot, but i think a little misplaced.
  13. morales plays spectrums of house from funky to soulful to hard. no trance at all. if you are a trance lover, I don't recommend morales although he is good in his own repsect.
  14. can always count on Aztec for the club gossip. u in the area at all? i work on 26th and 11th.
  15. just walked by spirit and crobar to check out the renovation statuses and all, swung a right on tenth avenue and noticed they were putting up a club awning on the joint next to Glass Lounge between 26th and 27th. Do we have yet another club opening up in that area? Def. could also be a theatre or a gallery or somethin. anyone have info?
  16. I agree, but rollover is dope. And they let you switch to any promotional plan whenever you wish without penalty [minus any unused rollover minutes]. If you are looking for reception only, than yeah, Verizon is tops. But if you're tryin to use it for GSM, it is a good choice. The GSM reception is probably slightly under AT&T but with better deals and don't forget rollover.
  17. hey ecko, i got a local bday party to organize 4 tnite...how is this place on fridays? music/dress/cover?
  18. take a weekend, and just walk around. bartending jobs are rarely advertised, and usually only by word of mouth. you just gottah walk in to spots u like and ask.
  19. Love the Nasty Bitch track. Could def. see some of the Tronic Treatment heads rockin it. You should come to the Option party out in Brooklyn and shop it around.
  20. Saw some incredible floats last night. my fav was the 1-800-Taiwan. Hilarious. buuuuuuuut, at the end of the parade last night there was this incredible audio/speaker float with a 2 djs playin techno. the sound was incredible and the djs were rippin it. anyone know who it was? It was one of the last floats, the one b4 the KTU float with the topless girls. I think the sponsor was Optic [audio systems] but I really can't remember. Anyone?
