  1. Ah, Kev, thanx for the info. It's amazing how much you learn about a song when you are hunting for an ID. So yea, I got the original Machine sample, but the Alacatraz Mix definitely may be the answer to my quest. I'll check it out when I get home from work. Thanx!~~
  2. sounds like tori amos - professional widow [armand van helden remix] enjoy!
  3. CP on point AGAIN! Thanks bro.
  4. ok, CP might not be the ideal forum for this id, but so far you have come through for every id i've posted..so here goes... its a very loungy, jazzy slow song...it is very recognizable if you heard it. the song has been in several movies... woman vocalist and certain versions have a saxophone solo playing the melody halfway between the song... here are some vocals i can remember :very slow tempo: the look.. of love... it's on... your face then in the chorus, much faster "I could hardly wait to hold you, put my arms around you" Then slow again... "I'll love you slowly" that all i remember..i know its a long shot, but let's see it someone recognizes this. thanx.
  5. i personally think all those places u mentioned suck. i would just call those over-priced lounge parties, where everyone is doing coke in the bathrooms. the people that frequent them are pretentious, and these are just an offshoot of the big club circuit. if that is your thing, more power to you, but there are tons of musically inclined parties that you didn't mention, and loft parties are going off right now. also, some people did not get into the scene for the opposite sex, so i think thats pretty funny right there. decor could be the worst, but if the music is right, and the crowd is having fun, then the party is a success.
  6. BLVD has house in their back room on sats but that place always changes so call ahead. its nice tho inside, lotsa lounge rooms and dancing too. don't go on a fri.
  7. ughhh....i used to be one of those people...im soo outtah the loop now
  8. gracias--tranza once again coming up big with the ids. I picked up this mislabel....do you happen to know if an original mix exists?
  9. i agree. also, recommend sullivan room; all week long is usually devoted to an edm genre. at least mon, thurs, fri, and sat some others: openair, guernica, le souk, filter are also good but u have to know the party. karavas has a exit/sf type night often too if that is your thing
  10. is this new? i think its kinda dope. also feelin britney-toxic van helden remx
  11. so I'm going through this 90's phaze, lol...and I need and ID. was a really popular trak, still is via KTU..mid 90's - female vocal Here are some snipits of the vocal I can remember "Stand up, got to got to stand up" "Throw your hands in the air air air" "Girl you got to stand up high....high high high. [repeats and gets higher pitched]" pretty sure there was a club mix of this done too, but I am looking for the original...any help?
  12. looking for tickets/guest list from a promoter. No credit card for online purchase. send me a pm if u can help.
  13. yup that was it...listened to it a second time and wasn't feelin it as much....i guess the nostalgia hearin it on the radio hyped me up....
  14. so i heard this on KTU this afternoon...its a remix of the old freestyle trak with the vocal that i think goes something like this..."on the left yall, on the right yall, set if off, set it off" they redid it, with a lula sounding guy/grl doing the vocal, and it sounded very big room and suprisingly good. anyone heard this? id please?
  15. just trying to point out is not 22 mil up front. plus private investment make it a very REAL opportunity.
  16. ummm, have you ever heard of a mortgage...and private investors? learn about finance before you write stupid shit. 20% down payment of 22 million is 4.4mil. Mortgage rates are 4%. Running with the club would pay the 60K monthly mortgage and some roughly. Not exactly chump change but very doable.
  17. i remember reading that the inside and outside were shot at different places. Pretty sure one spot was SPA.
  18. ugggh, i just wanted to say i disagree with this whole post but i don't have the energy to write a response. Both genres are on a downswing. if you watch interviews with any major hip hop/edm artist, they all say virtually the same. so as a resulting measure, the smart artist producer says, lets combine elements from both. we now started seeing a combination of both genres. also, electro with hip hop vocals and beats has been around for a while. not to mention ragga and various influenced D&B. this is not breaking any new ground. just breaking new ground in the commercial arena.
  19. yup. thats it tranza thanx. so much for me thinkin its 2 years old. i think it came out late '03.
  20. just heard this one again. It was an obvious remix of a classic track. I'd say it is about 2 maybe 3 years old. Anyway, the chorus is sung by what sounds like a female vocalist. she repeats this: "Just a little more love" and some of the extended vocal goes out like this.. just a little more love, just a little more peace.. [i can't remember much after that] any ideas? its a very commercial trak.
  21. I agree. This policy was written to help the bars and lounges who could not qualify/afford the caberet license. No where in the bill does it say bars will close at one unless they do not conform with the law. The only thing I am concerned about is if the city put a limit on how many permits they will distribute. If the application process is completely objective, then yes, this is legislation in a positive direction. Pros: -Allows dancing in venues without caberet -Lowers street volume and building volumes for nearby residents. -People are happy Cons: -Bar/Club owners added expenses: Pay for permit, Pay for soundproofing -Bars/Clubs subject to inspections -Fines if in violation of program rules.
  22. yo, albert in the mall does ridiculous tapes (an i been going to jerry/joe at astor cuts for over 10 years). go see for yourself. watch the kids that come outtah there. he is the only barber in si that has a line from opening to closing 9pm. no joke. "who's next" is actually on Richmond Ave and Forest Street in case u don't wanna get lost. big guido neighborhood so prob good spikes.
  23. whad up camello. saw your shout out in my other post....long time. u're first mix was dope, gottah listen to this one. Saw u posting on clubradio..i was like wahhh.. keep in touch bro.
  24. this is true, but I remember the hype revolving around six clubs opening on the 27/28th street block. i doubt deep and centro factor into that. there is this mysterious 6th i am curious about.
