  1. Listen,

College is more than bars, girls, and fun. It sets you in the right direction, and allows you more choices than had you not went. It helps you grow as a person, and learn things about yourself you didn't know before. The most important part will be the connections you make that will help you get a job in the future. I have 100 fraternity brothers and 250,000 alumni aross the US that are always willing to help me out. I'm not saying join a fraternity, but just trying to show an example of the possible connections that could be made. When people say the real world is all about who you know, it is absolutely true, so why not get to know as many people as you can. Think about it!!

    tranz,

were you referring to my white label mix or the nylx mix? If it was to mine, I don't think DJ Escape was doing remixes in 96-97, but then again I don't know for sure. Would you know?

  4. Hey,

I just picked up a white label by Johnny Vicious called Happy Halloween w/rmx by DJ Escape. One side has the Hallowween theme music as the chorus. The other has side is eerie and has a child vocal singing 5,6 crucifix, 7, 8 better stay awake etc...

Are either of these the goosbump track people are talking about?

Does anybody else have a problem with this? Why can't the music be hot the entire, or at least the majority of the time. I've heard peters three times now and I doubt I will ever get into his style. TOOOO random.

  6. I categorize my folders by the source ie. ag, myplay, http, ftp, mailing list.

Then as I see which sources are more productive I start to narrow them down. For example, lets say I have ten mp3 site folders in my http folder. After a month, which ever sites have been releasing the better music, get more attention. The others get deleted.

There are a couple of programs out there that will find all the mp3s on our harddrive and catergorize them for you. download.com is a good start.

  8. I've been hopping around to all the music boards on other sites lately and honestly I like CPs the best. Most of the other boards are too focused on one genre of music [ie strictly exit or strictly progressive]

I like how this board has a relatively [and I use this cautiously] broad knowledge of music. Given the majority of the topics are exit related, I always appreciate the input from the progressive ppl, the tech-house ppl and the tribal ppl.

Keep the Top Tens and ID's comin!! Thanx!

I know in some of my mixes when im bring a track in, and they are both, or all 3 at the same level of volume, the kick almost seems to dissapear, almost as if the speaker can't handle all of the compacity and level of sound?

.. but I know exactly what your talking about, but I dont notice this happening to me any longer

like justin said, another technique is to keep the songs at diff volume levels ie 10 and 7. Then readjust as you move across the fader.

this is true. When the kicks are exactly in phase, they cancel each other out. Thats when you hear a missing or softer bass beat every two or three beats while your in the mix. I've had success with is pushing one of the beats slightly so they are not exactly in phase. Be careful not to push so much that you have a wreck.
