Same think with the Ale house... They closed their own doors. They were not shut down...

i thought ale house closed b/c someone got stabbed there...yo, that venue has changes every season.

Hi everyone and sorry it's been so long since we last posted.

Anyway, you will be pleased to know that our Plumbing inspections have passed and we have just completed pouring all the floors.

The main room is fast becoming finished with all bathrooms fitted and tiled, The main bar has been built. The DJ booth and lighting booth are nearing completion. The ceilings have all been painted and all HVAC systems are now in place.

Electrics are on and water is running.

Sheet rocking is almost done and now comes the laying of the wooden floors, putting in the lights, sound systems and furniture fixtures and a lot of painting....

We are still scheduled to open in mid October.

Our party nights and DJ line up's have not been decided, regardless of what you might have read on other websites.

Will try and keep you all posted on updated information

    Crobar NYC

I walked by yesterday at around 2pm and it looked like a warzone around there. Hopefully the inside looks better than the out.

if you're sick of rustic, waterloo, beer garden etc. this'll be a nice change of atmosphere.

    ;)

i'll support this. is there an edm night or is it all hip hop...or mixed?

perhaps he can add his new word to urbandictionary.com

some of the shit on there is hysterical.

  8. this is a popular recent (i think) proggy trak that I heard Boris rock it. anyways...the chorus is four lines by a woman...

the last two lines of the chorus sound like:

"my heart is beating like a boombox"

"it goes bump bump bump bump bump"

or do you computer generate the whole cd from sound files on your computer ?

just looking to put together my 1st cd mix, so any help would be appreciated.

i have sound forge 6.0 at my disposal, and also my dj equipment.

just wondering what's the BEST way to get a perfect mix

    thanks

    tony

record your mix live in one shot. then eq it using sound forge. after, write up a cue sheet to separate the tracks.

don't computer generate your cd unless u seriously have skills. if you get booked, and don't play up to the skill level of the demo, then it makes u look terrible.

it was good. u gottah take it for what its worth tho. the film direction wasn't great, and the casting sucked, but the movie overall was entertaining. I think everyone on this board would like since we all have memories of limelight. Peter Gatien was in it a bunch, which was a good surprise.

    lunatarium was horrible last night.

first, i ended up waiting over an hour and a half to get inside the place. shortly after I got in, the bouncers started turning people away. rumor has it that 2000 people were turned away last night.

anyway, we get inside (me, xpander, and dialectics) and the place is packed. It was about 1:30 am. Onionz was on playing a nice funky/latin house set. great vibe too.

    then....an MC comes on!

now, having MCs for breaks is one thing....its tolerable......but MCs rapping over HOUSE?!

    :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

the MC could not match the beat at all. it was like a verbal trainwreck. we tried to filter the guy out, but he was so obnoxious that it wasnt possible. the vibe died right away. people started leaving/retreating to the side room (the side room was eventually more crowded than the main dance floor)

then Afrika Bambatta comes on. The MC does nothing but shout "Afrika Bambatta in the house" for a half hour. then when he finally shuts up, another MC comes on.....and as horrible as the first MC was, this guy was worse! this guy was shouting so much I could barely hear the music!

its really a shame. when i was able to hear it, the set was good!

it was very eclectic: funk, old school rap and hip-hop, freestyle, all kinds of breaks. its such a shame that the MCs ruined everything.

as for Lunatarium itself, the wall was still up. actually, the large room in the back of the place was closed off too.

and what happened to the drum and bass?!

    :(

    worst night of the year.

yea terrible. it was decent until the mc got on...side room was fkuked. too hot. no d&B. tuuuuurible@#$#@
