  1. Whats up? coming from new york in November, I'll be there from Thursday thru Saturday....wonderin what nights to hit what spots? wanna check out Fabric, not sure what else I love a lot of styles of beats, but mainly techno & house, ranging from: Jeff Mills/Sven Vath Eddie Richards/terry francis H-foundation, Derrick Carter Rino Cerrone/Danilo Vigorito/Marco CArola, etc Cass/Anthony Pappa/diggers I guess I want to hit some bigger parties...maybe pre game a little, just want a good taste of the scene out there, I like less cheesy crowds when possible...oh, dress code info is good to have too... as far as guestlists, any info would help thanks Chuck
  2. There is plenty of proof that Saddam is a lunatic repressive leader who's life mission is to dominate his region and potentially more, and that he's put a LOt of effort into his weapons programs, chemical/bio/nuclear. He has lied about it before, many times, and we've caught him in the lies. To believe that he decided to miraculously tell the truth now is a load of horseshit. He's continually ignored UN demands, so for everyone to say "it should be the UN, not the USA" I think Bush has a great point - the UN set the rules, Saddam ignored them, so either the UN has to step up and handle shit, or it is essentially useless. The US having to go it alone is actually the rest of the world letting us and themselves down, not the US ignoring the rest of the world. Yeah, no shit its not ideal to go to war, or to start a domino effect in the middle eastern world, but I think the rest of the world is either naive or plain stupid to think that Saddam is better left alone to his devices. It would be nice if his neighbors recognized the fact that they wouldn't be sovereign states if we hadn't come in to stop Saddam in 1991. We gave him mercy last time around, based on his promises and agreements, which he turned around and disregarded and broke. Bush listens to the world, and his country, who've said that he shouldn't go-it-alone. Therefore he's using the UN, saying "we already set the resolutions which were ignored. Let's set another one, this time let's actually back it the fuck up, otherwise the UN just a symbolic organization with only the power to talk. The UN is in place to keep the peace, but sometimes you have to fight to keep peace. Look at Germany in between WWI and WWII, the world sat back cuz they didn't have the stomach for another war like WWI, and soon enough it became apparant that this guy wasn't gonna stop without a fight, and by then he was so powerful and had killed so many people that WWII became the horrendous war that it was. Should we sit back and wait until Saddam reaches his goals of strength and power and Arab-world backing? or should we stop this menace before we have WWIII on our hands? yeah there's a chance WWIII might happen if we enter IRaq again. Its not going to be easy, but it would be a lot easier if the rest of the world held saddam accountable for his actions. Nobody should be in power in a country for 30 + years. that spells corruption. That man should not be in power at all, let alone with his record.
  3. I agree, its that type of sheilding that made us totally unaware and taken off guard when they attacked in the first place people in the USA need to start paying attention to what's going down in the rest of the world although I wouldn't say we should saturate young people's minds with images of 9/11, even I didn't want to watch it all night, but its no good to try to BS your kids that the world isn't a dangerous and serious place, cuz shit's bound to hit the fan again and I'd prefer everyone including kids knows the deal before that happens
  4. my first night out was Derrick Carter/DJ Dan at centro fly...like a month and a half later...in October....didn't realize how much I needed it...but the music and dancing helped the healing....it was a must to take a step back though...felt like all this shit was insignificant for a hot minute..and it really was....
  5. don't know if this is what you're lookin for but Wickedliquid - always good times/great couple a DJ's, good parties/good vibes - have done parties all over the place (Anthony Velarde/Iman Rizky) D3 - DJ divine - great DJ, real nice guy, totally about adding positivity and fun to the scene....been doing this with illskillz for a while but is still totally down to earth about it...thursdays @ leopard lounge, plus much more - catch him if you haven't! tronic - yeah, good DJ's....vibes (what's this about it ending???!?) Oscillate (Plant tuesday phuture soul sessions, courtesy of Rah....pooh, nycdee, charlieruhle, chris/kai) Hidden (Dee's ill thursday party @ discotheque) - doing it for the right reasons, and bringing astonishing talent to the table!!! good shite) Touched by a DJ/Dave Sigmund - underground at its best (moist @ liquids, shipwrecked at frying pan, much more....) Program - Keith/amy/spoony/frankieP....underground house/tech house crew...good peeps homegrown - havent' been yet but seems like a good thing going....damn there's a lot of parties I want to hit...NYC's local crews seem to be about the right shit most of the time...plexi/blister/soundlogic/etc.... plant Saturdays...@ centro....marcus/dominique are great guys, good DJ's, and always bring top talent.. Urban promos - Andy Z/Steve Groove - like the direction they're going these days....great job on getting underground sounds to the masses.... Oak/Dwight G/Jay Biggs - this is HOUSE music...deep....groovin...stylin underground deep house music.... 112 crew, met a few, seem like a good group of peeps....definite good dj's (only heard d. rodgers/b patrick/m licata)...haven't hit their noble parties yet though... All the crowds that come out with good intentions and good thoughts....it shows at the parties....and that's the real important part....these great lil parties couldn't attract good crowds if there weren't so many chill people in our scene.... Doing it for the right reasons can be frustrating at times...but its the most rewarding for self...and to me is the only way to do it.... While on the subject, a lot of this is also on the owners/managers of clubs/lounges.....props to the ones who recognize what we're trying to do, not just measure the bar tab at the end of the night and totally base everything on that.....
  6. Anthony V is definately nice on the 1's and 2's....check this out if you can.... hmm..maybe I'll finally make it to one of these parties.......

  12. Oh - did anyone else think with the style of each of their sets that it would've made more sense for Sven to close it out? I was really enjoyin Richie's set/tracks, but seems like Sven was a notch more amped up than Hawtin? I should pipe down, next thing I'll be critiquing Marshall Faulk for his running game;) but you know what I mean...BTW - what time did it close ? (we broke out around 8)
  13. My first night there since its been "arc" had a GREAT time....of course the music was top notch...Sven had the place fired the f up....Hawtin had some real nice tracks, minimal house/tech type ish at one point that I was really feelin, around 7:00 - 8 or so....system was very clear/crisp...the bass will hopefully warm up over time... my main point was it was good to see everyone, & be back on the scene....Same with Thursday @ D3 (Leopard Lounge) & Hidden (Discotheque..)... between the music, the people and the good times, I've been recharged and am back.... me Saturday = :clap2: *gladIwaitedforatechnopartytogotoarc*
