  5. a friend of mine rented out Pseudo for the 3rd.i'll be spinning at his party.you're welcome to come, but no open tables this week.
  6. that system that Belly and his boys brought was nice..but NOT for dance music, and not for a small room like that.i was good for hip-hop. i ended tag-teaming another set with djjonstephen...the sound in the main room was much better.
  7. i love his shit.... CDs: Singularity 1 & 2...also his Essential Mix from March 4th,2001. Very musical yet deep and techy style. Has been putting out stuff since 1989. Classical music training. www.singularity-cd.nl When we drove on one of the Amsterdam canals it was time to press the button. Lift-off. CD 1 started with a surprise: the beautiful and haunting electro-soul of Kerri Chandler's 'Digital Love Affair'. Excellent choice. With that track Mr. Foort made a perfect statement: don't hold me as a prisoner of my own style. Song number 2, the sparse but invigorating 'Life On The Edge' by Source Of Gravity was mixed in fluently, without notice, and we were in business. When track 6 sneaked out, Infusion's smokin' dieseltrain 'On The Outside', and Lemon 8's moment of intense reflection 'The Only Way' entered without knocking I realised that this would be a distant journey. We were somewhere near the city of |Utrecht when this whole situation really began to take hold. I remember saying: "I feel a bit lightheaded…" And suddenly there was a roar all around us that felt like…victory. In my imagination the sky was full of what looked like huge birds, all swooping and diving around the car, which was going about 100 miles an hour, driven by the horse-power of 'Dragonfly', a deep slice of grooveness by Coma pirates, a collaboration between Mr. Foort and the legendary Evolution from Manchester. I wanted to go back to track 1 and start all over again, to absorb the wonderful crispy cricket-sounds, the u-turns in breaks, the rolling snares, the pulsating basses that I missed on first listening. I turned to Lucien and asked: "Do you like Paris as a city?" Near Den Bosch we stopped at a tankstation. CD 1 had done a more than excellent job. It was time to sit, it was time for silence, time for a drink. I was thinking of a moment last year after the release of Singularity 1 when I saw Lucien doing what he does best in the middle of the Sinai Dessert in Israel. I stood behind him, so I could be as close I could get near the birth of a Dj legend. While fireworks lit the mountains Mr. Foort presented his one single commandment to the masses. Thy shall dance. From that moment on there was no turning back. He traveled the world, got himself a residency at Gatecrasher, he was booked for Cream, Pete Tong wanted him to do an Essential Mix, John Digweed asked him te deliver a mix for his Kiss FM show. And he went for it, with the enthousiasm of a kid who found his all time favourite toy. After a while we drove back to Amsterdam. CD 2 got us there in time. Beginning on a more uptempo tip with Kolo's 'Edge Forever' I stepped on the gas. I couldn't help it. Not that I wanted this journey to be over, but the music as in tracks like 'Arisen' by Natious and Foort's own 'Gemini' (brilliantly mixed by Saints & Sinners) gave me wings. His mixing was better than ever, the pacing of the album was flawless, but most of all it had that rarest of contradictions: it was soulful music made by machines. When the car stopped in an Amsterdam street it was past midnight. Lucien and I got out of the vehicle. We hugged. And then he left. I saw him walking to the parking lot like only he does. I couldn't help thinking of the reaction of his wife and partner in crime, Dymphna, when he told the story of our little journey. She would smile her most beautiful smile. And then she would say: "Don't worry. He will write about it."

  16. i made this post in the hopes that there might be some people on clubplanet who actually knew about music. nice to see that you people have finally lurked out of the shadows, lol. i thought this whole board was SF and Exit heads who were musically challenged. i forgot to mention 6400 Crew (Hipp-E & Tony), on Tango Recordings.

  22. i noticed some new faces at Pseudo on Thursday the 20th, but it seemed like there was this one "click" in the main room...also... this one girl who just couldn't WAIT 2 minutes to use the bathroom. I understand being a guy, I was the using the womens, but the B.R.s at pseudo are kind of unisex/interchangable anyways. Can't a DJ roll a joint before his set...damn it woman lol!
