  1. Thank you very much Tim...godspeed. ------------------ "ID, Please." AOL: Highmay9 Napster: Jayme
  2. It definitly depends on what youre going there for. As for the venue itself...its a lounge, with an underground feel to it. It can get pretty hot pretty quickly. There have been performances from open mics, to MC battles, to rock performances, so definitly check up on whats going down for the night. ------------------ AOL: Highmay9 Napster: Jayme
  3. Finding a place to park your car within a 3 block radius of the nightclub, getting on line, and looking at some of the cars parade down the block. As the tension builds up with every waking moment that you're waiting to get in, the doorman says the 2 words that you've been waiting for all night: "ID, please." You show him your driver license, he takes a good, hard, look at both you and your only way of getting inside that palace of ecstacy. He finally accepts your presence, and you're in. "Bout time," you think to yourself. After getting searched by security, and paying the $35 for cover, the night has finally begun. "Music...music...music...music..." Damn I can't wait for tonight...Who's with me?? ------------------ AOL: Highmay9 Napster: Jayme

  5. Are you serious? I see it as the best feeling, knowing that I clubbed my ass off for the entire night and its not satruday anymore. Nothing comes close (except for maybe that hot shower). ------------------ AOL: Highmay9 Napster: Jayme

  9. good point killa...you would know a lot about her being good in bed just by the way she moves her body, but when I'm on the dancefloor and I see a girl that is just so into the music as much as I am, I have to dance with that girl. Theres nothing inside about sex or whateva. ------------------ AOL: Highmay9 Napster: Jayme [This message has been edited by highmay (edited 01-07-2001).]

  12. Scott Project is a very special individual, but he really, really needs to kick a little variety into his tracks. Yes, they DO sound the same, but no one can take away the ear that he possesses for slammin' beats. He's from Germany, and I would drop everything to hear him spin somewhere in the city. But if anyone knows anything about which label he's under or any other info about him, drop us a post. BTW I bumped up my topic for everybody's informational pleasure. Godspeed. ------------------ MEGA HIGHMZ AOL: Highmay9 Napster: Jayme

  16. OK...here is what I think of Draper: His style, IMO, is where he would begin the first couple of hours playin party favs/annoying commercial music such as oompa loompa and pitchin...but when the exit virgins and superficial clubbers start fizzling out and start going back home because they stayed up way past their bedtime, he gets really really dark and hard acid tranc-heavy, playing almost every DJ Scott song ever produced. Some people have compared his style to the dark, Eddie Baez Tunnel afterhours, sets that he blessed crowds with back in the Tunnel days. That genre has a huge following, and people respect him for that. But any amateur DJ can see that he just throws songs on, let them play out, and go on to another song. A DJ with skills isn't a DJ who just plays the right music, it's a DJ that knows how to mix, that knows how to time his beats and climaxes correctly, that can tease a crowd, that can take them on a journey throughout the night...and on top of that, lace them with some hot shit that they never heard before, and blow their minds. Draper will never be an NY headliner unless he evolves as a DJ. If you appreciate Sasha and Digweed, listen to their sets at Twilo and you can hear the difference. Same with Jonathan Peters and even Boris. Just knowing which songs to play isn't enough. ------------------ MEGA HIGHMZ AOL: Highmay9 Napster: Jayme
  17. I may be wrong, but I think he does the door Thursdays at SPA. He's one of the hosts for that night. ------------------ MEGA HIGHMZ AOL: Highmay9 Napster: Jayme
  18. So is this the general opinion, an "uuuhhhmmm"? Cmon, everyone, there has to be a reason why clubbers hate him so much, what is that reason? ------------------ MEGA HIGHMZ AOL: Highmay9 Napster: Jayme

  20. New Year's Eve marked the 2-year anniversary of my first club expeirience. That night at the Tunnel was definitly an eye-opening expeirience for me, as it turned me into a lover of NYC nightlife. Now that was the end of 1998 and the beginning of 1999. To me, nightclubs have just gotten better. They haven't seemed to get worse. But, for some reason, everyone points to the mid-90's, during Disco 2000 and Forsaken Fridays as the absolute pinnacle of clublife, and people point to the mayor for the reason why it has been going downhill ever since. What has Rudolph Guiliani done so bad to bring NYC nightlife down? What am I missing? I have to claim ignorance because those parties were before my time, and I just see the club scene still evolving into something that none of us can imagine. Thoughts, anyone? ------------------ MEGA HIGHMZ AOL: Highmay9 Napster: Jayme
  21. OOOOOOOOOH shampoo huh? listen, im sorry to inform you but shampoo isnt the most credible spot. It's very commercial, and their taste in music is second rate. I mean, FUCKING CHUCK ADDIS IS STILL THERE!! That guy IS NOT a dj, and they should have realized that a looooooooong time ago. He wouldnt know good music if you shoved it in his face. But anyway, not to take anything away from everyone else's opinions, but yes, you can be busy working on another album, but that doesn't mean you change your style and lose your followers. Plain and simple, Mr. Baez style has changed. He plays more vocals, and he went away from the deep, dark, bloodthirsty house that he was legendary for in the mid to late 90's. Now, we definitly can't bash him for that, because people's tastes change all the time, and so his taste must have changed. Remember DJ Basil? He used to do Red Zone, the old SF, Nell's, and a bunch of other spots in the early 90's. Now he was a great house DJ back in the days, but recently he has been interested in getting into salsa and more latin beats. That doesn't mean he sucks, it just means that his interests have changed. That might dissapoint and piss off some people, but you can't lose respect for him. Same goes with Baez. ------------------ MEGA HIGHMZ AOL: Highmay9 Napster: Jayme
