yes, you can see the last one and still think it's a great movie BUT if you really want to understand who everyone is, what their roles & relationships are and what is going on in general then you NEED to watch the other 2 first. preferably the extended editions but the regular editions will do as well.

this is an awsome venue! i was there last thursday with tracy. this place is wicked! has a very jet set, ambient feel to it and the sound system in both the main and upstairs rooms is wicked! tracy went on about 11pm or so and played some wicked wicked WICKED tunes in the upstairs room. amazing tech & deep house stuff with a little hint of progressive tords the end. some CRAZY sounding basslines that just wobbled around in your head! think lee burridge & terry francis type stuff. played tracks off of labels like 20:20 vision, panhandle, bugged out! etc...fucking brillant! was ALOT of fun! tracy's a GREAT dj and you guys should DEF. come out on thursdays to support her and her new residency! while waiting for tracy, i cought the first 30 minutes or so of psycho bitch's set in the main room and she played some great chilled techy stuff before she got into the harder techno/hard-house stuff. this is a good night and it needs some more good people with good vibes and dancing shoes to come out and support. so make it happen guys & girls! come support tracy & psycho bitch! they deserve it! and keep your eyes out for a POSSIBLE special new years eve event to be announced soon (hopefully).

love this girl! tracy's an awsome person and a total sweetheart! AND she's a great dj! she has a great ear for music! always picks the most wicked tunes! so does anyone have any of her sets on MP3 that they'd be willing to trade?? i only have one from about 2 or 3 years ago and have been looking for others with no luck. i've asked her, but she's said she isn't aware of any others besides the one i have already. so does anyone ever record her sets? are there any up for Download anywhere? i would love to get my hands on some of them!

hmmm chloe @ ultra = 30 minute to an hour set for $75+ OR... chloe @ some other club = 2+ hour set for $20 or less lets see here...which one would i choose?? think it would have to be the 2+ hour set for $20 or less at some other club i don't care who played ultra (or who they said was going to play anyway) you wouldn't catch me dead in a body bag at that shitty ass excuse for a festivel!

saw this a few weeks ago at a press screening and was completely blown away! is by far and away the best of the 3 movies! the lenghth doesn't bother me at all. i actually wish they were longer so they could have fit more details and history into them. the extended editions with the extra 45 minutes added to them are the best! but even with the extra 45 minutes there is still alot missing. i will say though that peter jackson did an amazing job with these films! they are prob. my favorite films of all time. hopefully he'll decide to go back and do the hobbit after he's done with king kong.

what's everyones infatuation with ultra?? i just don't understand it. it is the most over rated and poorly organized party on the planet i think. the people that do this party need to go over to europe and take lessons from them on how to throw a REAL dance music festivel. it's over priced...$75 for that has got to be the biggest waist of money ever. it's over booked. half the talant booked doesn't even show up. and those that do sometimes don't even get to play because there just isn't enough time for them. the one's that do play only get to play between 30 minute and an hour sets if that. the talent booked in general isn't all that impressive. out of the 150 or whatever dj's booked MAYBE 30 of them are even worth seeing and to pay $75 + to see them play for 30 minutes to an hour is completely pointless and a waist. it's VERY poorly organized. the set times are ALWAYS changed from minute to minute based on whether one dj or another shows up or not or is late or early. the stages that are advertised are not always the stages that are there and talent are always being moved from one place to another without any notice to the crowd. the people that run the event are complete and total assholes and don't give a shit about anything except filling their pockets with money. hmmm come to think of it, i can't think of one good thing about that party. not one!

blueroom mix is wicked although it's short. haven't heard the lot 33 mix yet but if you're looking for good zabiela mixes check out his 'live @ jazid, miami' mix! that ones wicked! also check out this older mix of his if you haven't already called 'slowbrooding monster'. this is a shot mix but to this day i think it's the best one i've heard from him

i saw this at a press screening yesterday afternoon and let me tell you, if you thought the first 2 were good wait till you see this one! it is by FAR & AWAY the best of the 3!! lots of war scenes, lots and lots of emotional scenes and LOTS of history revealed. the openning of the move is quite good. it tells/shows in depth more about a certin historical event that was mentioned in the opening of the first movie but was never elaberated on and that has had a profound effect on the events of what is going on in middle earth now. this movie is AMAZING!! the monsters and cinematography and camera shots are brillant! the running time is about 3h & 10m or so...give or take 5 minutes. tuesday night i watched both extended editions of the fellowship of the ring and the two towers just to get ready to see the return of the king on yesterday. that was a very long movie sitting!! i can't wait till next november when the extended edition of the return of the king comes out. i mean, if the movie in the cinema was this good i can imagin how good it'll be with the extra 45 minutes of deleated scenes!! GO SEE THIS!!

lola: yes, there was a club called space up here but it closed down during the summer. as for the state theater, i'm not sure if it's a full on club as i haven't been inside yet but they sure as hell bring alot of special guests and do alot of concerts there so... as for pontiac & flint, i don't ever go up there so i don't know a whole lot about it but i do know there are a couple things in pontiac. this place called cluch cargos which is an old church turned into a club. i know they do concerts there and some one off dj events but other then that i don't know what their music is like on a normal weekend night. there is something in flint i know because i've seen the adds for it when they've booked guest djs but i don't konw what or where it is. i'll have a look in the 'real detroit' paper thingy and find out and then PM you or something. but yeah, def. e-mail me when you're here (if you remember that is...it's a long time from now) and we'll meet up or something. eric: yeah, i haven't been sking in a VERY long time! i don't even know if i could stand up on those things anymore. would be funny to try though e-mail me when you get here or right before you leave there and if you're in the detroit area we'll meet up ok? me, you & shoomy can all go out for a night on the town...will be fun!

party was awsome! little luie vaga was awsome! seeing & hanging out with all my old bambi friends all weekend was awsome! great weekend! ericka: it all depends on what kinda music and people you like. IMO the best club is 'the shelter' on saturday nights which is all minimal techno & electronic/experimental stuff with a little electro mixed in. if you like harder techno/deep & funcky house then 'the works' is a good place as they bring in wicked guests on a regular basis. if you like strait up house music then there is this bar downtown on woodward called 'good time Foran's' which hosts a night the first thrusday of each month called 'flow'. it features all female djs playing house and has had some pretty amazing guests! it's a good night with a great vibe! for more mainstream stuff in the progressive, trance & hip hop scenes there are places like 'blue'. panacia is also a wicked little club that does alot of one offs feat. techno & house djs both guests and local and i think one of their nights (friday maybe) is hip hop. there are one off events all over the place at various little venues in and around the city ranging from techno to minimal techno to IDM to house to indie etc... the best places to find out about stuff going on around town are the record shops. where in detroit are you going to be? there is a shop in downtown ferndale called 'record time' which has a huge flyer rack. there is also a record time in roseville. they have info on most of the major events going on around town. there is neptune records in downtown royal oak which is the place to go if you want to find out about all the experimental/IDM/minimal techno & indie nights going on. if you can't get to the record shops then you can grab a 'real detroit' paper when you get here and have a look at the events pages. it's kinda like 'street' or ' new times' down there but it's better becase it usually lists most of the events going on no matter what type of music it is. anyway, drop me an e-mail at marick_stawis@hotmail.com and let me know the exact dates when you'll be in town and maybe we can meet up or something... take care

just when i though i'd escaped you crazy south floridians, carmel and the gang take back door bambi on the road across the US and detroit is one of the stops!! if it's one thing i miss about miami it's nights like this! tomorrow night detroit will see what the best part of the miami scene is all about! techno city is about to become south beach for a night minus the weather of course hehehe can't fucking wait for this!
