  1. Haven't got a bloke to smell at the moment, but I've just taken my boots off and my feet are STINKING. does that count?
  2. as I said yesterday...... "2) MOTHA! (Danny Tenaglia) has invited his boys back to VINYL! Friday, January 12th, SAEED+PALASH spins all night long (8 hours)" "5) Mark your calendar, On Feb. 16, 2001 THE D.C BOYS ARE TAKING OVER Â TWILO for the first time ever. Â Our boys SAEED+PALASH are spinning alongside hometown hero's DEEPDISH. Â This will surely be a night to wreak havoc. Â Then Sunday Feb 18th marks the return of DANNY TENAGLIA to TWILO along with CARL COX. Â What a weekend to be in New York City."
  3. ecky-thump. my favourite is still The Muppets first album, which I had to buy secondhand from my older brother for 50p (75c) a long long time ago. DiscoFever was another top album. nice.
  4. I know, I was more than a bit out of it on the plane listening to that channel when I flew over (but it was fun to start the weekend by dropping just before driving to the airport - ooooh the lights.... the BA lounge was quite entertaining too.....)
  5. so do you think I should go to Luke Slater on 26 Jan? his publicist obviously likes him a lot: "A prodigious talent, Slater has long been at the forefront of British techno. Coming to prominence in the early '90's, his name became synonymous with a brutal and uncompromising sound. Recording for a variety of labels under a number of guises, Slater refined a unique and challenging style. By 1997 he had put his nomadic existence behind him settling with novamute through whom he released his groundbreaking opus Freek Funk a year later. An eclectic mix of styles and sounds, Freek Funk was rightly hailed as a break-through piece. The album took Slater far beyond the rigid confines of the techno scene establishing him as an artist capable of creating works of staggering brilliance. Live shows and successful festival appearances throughout 1998 consolidated his growing reputation. By 1999 Slater had begun work on his follow up album with which he made a decision to return to basics and explore his adolescent love of electro. The resultant LP, Wireless, was the perfect crystallisation of his influences updated and put in a modern day context.  "
  6. no glowsticks when I was at turnmills. come on Dave, you know you took in a big bag full of them just to piss me off. at least Fabric didn't have any, and neither did Bedrock. or that pub I went to in the Pennines. mind you that did have a sheep in the toilets.
  7. ah yes, you're right, but thankfully Gatecrasher is about the only place where they can be found. Keep them in Sheffield.
  8. "The Wombles were rat-like creatures that lived in burrows under Wimbledon Common. The main characters were, Great Uncle Bulgaria (the leader), Madame Cholet (the cook), Orinoco, Thomsk, Wellington, Adelaide, Bungo, and Tobermory. They built their burrow from rubbish they found lying around the common." and the one you had was "Wellington Womble Personality: Scientist. Wellington is quiet, spends much of his time in the Library forgetting to come to meals. He also says 'sorry' a lot mostly, I think, because he is often thinking and doesn't hear what people say the first time. He wears a school cap and glasses." have a look at the womble lovers website at: http://www.designwest.com/Johanna/womble/index.html happy now? god I was bored until I saw your post.... Orinoco was definitely my favourite.
  9. of course it's infinitely better. there are no bloody glowsticks for a start. ha ah ahahahhahaha
  10. from addictive records: 5) Mark your calendar, On Feb. 16, 2001 THE D.C BOYS ARE TAKING OVER Â TWILO for the first time ever. 11. it's a big warehouse club, on Fridays it's Buzz: front room drum&bass, main room headline acts. it's 19 & over, usually $15 - 20 to get in, dresscode raverkid, security REALLY tight. on Saturday's it's Velvet Nation, which is the big gay event here in DC. check out the website at www.buzzdc.com or have a look at some of the threads in the Washington DC board to give you some more ideas about Nation and other places to go in DC.
  12. Never mind the bottle, I'm still stuck in the closet at Twilo. mind what you're doing with that hose....
  13. oh shit, I just achieved goddess. time to retire.
  14. Groove is complete pants compared to Human Traffic. We watched both consecutively on Tuesday - and everyone (regardless of nationality) voted Human Traffic a much better film. HT much much funnier, much more to identify with, generally much better made film. and it's in Blockbuster NOW!!
  15. Noisey I'll pay the whole $20 for you to get in. I can't believe you've never been to Danny....
  16. oh yeah we met. yeah we met. don't you remember the guy totally crashed out on the floor next to us at the end ("where's my closet? where's my closet??) let's do it again soon.....
  17. yeah yeah yeah, you know you loved it really. just a non-stop stream of shit coming out of your gob...... see you on friday
  18. I shagged Sasha in one of those back rooms at Twilo on Friday night, after he gave me some of his "water". oh and I sat next to OJ in Miami. anyway, what do you mean, I am a celebrity. ask anyone.
  19. are you listening p00h???? ha haha ha ahah hahahhaaahahahah aha hahahhah aha ha hahaa
  20. are you talking to me? are YOU talking to me? are you TALKING to me???? cheers for Sat p00h - you're a hero. crashed for a couple of hours on the way home; got back to DC about 9:00 and died. severely. going out tonight to make up for it, but see you on Friday at Vinyl. already got a carful so it's gonna be a TOP NIGHT OUT. are you ready? can Danny make it darker??????????? DS (big fat Christmas snog to you)
  21. I was at Twilo until we got forcibly removed by the bouncers at 10 or whatever time it was that they closed, and also at Vinyl from 1am to 5:30 first. what a fantastic night out. shouts out to all I saw (p00h - what a hero; aztec, uknjx2, edge420, crackorn, divalicious, jammy, and of course the inimitable noiseboy; trippintrance64 and everyone else who my crackedout memory has already left behind) who's up for Danny on Friday at Vinyl? dmgreenz - we must have seen each other at vinyl - where were you? I was by the speakers to the left of Danny as you look at him. next time......
  22. but did she enjoy the maltesers???? great to meet you on friday Nicki. let's do it again SOON dirty
  23. urmmm - dancing? me? well, um. um. well. ask p00h. he knows. I can certainly stand in the middle of twilo shouting "go home you wankers" while sticking the v's up at sasha, and simultaneously whirling a supermarket bag round my head, showering surrounding glowstick-wielding ravers with small chocolate balls. come on you guys, you know I'm with Mr_Ed on the whole glowstick thing. in the holiday spirit though I'm not going to make any rude comments. to each his own, and may the best man win.
  24. sorry sorry sorry - got caught up in work's dinner thing and then to Adams Morgan and ended up in Red at 1am, smashed. see you tomorrow night at s&d anyway...
  25. Dave went home last week for a couple of weeks. I'm amazed he hasn't been on the board though as I believe they do actually have computers, phones and modems in Leeds. he's probably down the pub though. sensible man..
