  1. DaaaaaaVe, as I seem to have officially become the old lady of this board (OK one of them), can I become "Club Grandma" rather than Club Goddess? oh go on, you know you want to. well p00h wants you to anyway.
  2. awww -poops, you know you'd have to try a damn sight harder than that to hurt my feelings. you should come down to DC though - it's going to be a right old larf. by the way noisey, if the position as granny crack ho is still open I'd like to apply for the job (I'll fight uknjx2 for it - we can sharpen our knitting needles ready for the showdown). My other option is going to Geneva, and - well let's put it this way, I've never really heard Geneva described as a 'clubbing mecca'. at least it's only a 1.5 hr flight to London.
  3. don't listen to anything p00h says, it's a non-stop stream of shite. and he lives at home with his mommy. grandma slapper indeed. YOU DIE. (apologies to the serious posters on this thread. I had to say it. sorry) [This message has been edited by dirtyslapper (edited 01-16-2001).]

  7. you know, there are these marvellous things called internet search engines.... amazing what stuff you can find before asking dumb questions.... Josh Wink - Biography b. c. 1970, Philadelphia, USA. The techno artist Josh Wink combines a number of influences, from deep house to acid jazz and more experimental electronic music. His musical taste came from his family's record collection that included Philip Glass, Stevie Wonder, Kraftwerk, Steely Dan and James Brown. He began DJing in 1987 in underground Philadelphia clubs. In 1990 he released 'Tribal Confusion', on Strictly Rhythm Records, an acclaimed single produced with King Britt and credited to E-Culture that was later sampled by Future Sound Of London. The reaction enabled Britt and Wink to establish their own production company, WinKing Productions, in Philadelphia. Over the next five years they remixed over 20 tracks, including Rozalla 's 'Are You Ready To Fly?', Digital Orgasm's 'Running Out Of Time' and Book Of Love's 'Boy Pop'. In 1993 when King went on tour as the Digable Planets' DJ, so Wink continued as a solo artist, using a variety of names, including Wink, Winx, Winc, Winks and the Crusher. The records were released on a variety of dance labels such as Vinyl Solution, Strictly Rhythm, Nervous, Limbo and R&S Records. He also recorded 30-second musical compositions for television advertisements, as well as launching his own underground dance label, Ovum Recordings, in October 1994. In the mid-90s he was signed to Virgin Records in the USA and Mercury Records in Britain, releasing 'Higher State Of Consciousness' in 1995. [obviously spoonyd got there 2 minutes before me. well it's all good info, right?!] [This message has been edited by dirtyslapper (edited 01-16-2001).]

  17. shall we all just move over to the new Twilo board and leave DaVe to his unix/Linus problems? www.twilo.com there are probably lots of secret (chat) rooms off the side of the main board. [This message has been edited by dirtyslapper (edited 01-09-2001).]
  18. try www.dcnites.com or get a copy of the Washington City Paper (they do have a webpage but they don't have club listings on it really) when you get here and check out what's on.

    space?

Space is a night at The Gate (formerly Element) 714 6th St I think (back of the MCI center). don't know what it's been like since it reopened but the venue is pretty good. could be full of complete sleazemongers though. go and tell us all about it!
  20. I'd stay in new york if I were you, but if you do decide to move, then have a look at Millele's list of places to go. a few places that weren't mentioned, but it sounds like would probably be more your scene, are: 1223 ozio 18th St Lounge Dragonfly (all in Dupont Circle) and clubs such as Platinum, Insomnia etc. Buzz and the Edge are both big warehouse clubs in a not-so-nice part of town, full of raverkids mostly. I'm guessing that's not really your scene if you're a sound factory fan?
  21. did you send me a CD, Adam, or are you just going to freak me out with weird conversations again?
  22. They'd have to be really fucking perverted to want to go anywhere near my feet at the moment. and yes, they are a bit reminiscent of wet sheep, mixed in with a large chunk of ripe gorgonzola. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. off t'pub. see ya.
