Well, basically we all trekked out to Liberty. We were told to be there by 6:30-7:00, but as it turns out the venue we were supposed to use was covered in ice (!) so they had to get another venue vry last minute. This resulted in the lot of us passing the time by dancing in the parking lot to music being blasted out of Scotty's car, just about everyone giving the strings a spin, being yelled at by the small indian man behind the counter for being loud in the hotel, watching really random things on TV (including the WWF.. yeah baby! lol), most of us taking more Stackers than anyone really needs to, reading local newspapers and being amazed by the strange things we found (ex. "Come and be amazed... The Cheese Barrel", "When Our Snow Melts, We Paddle It!", and this just in "Kids Love Snow"!!), and lots of bonding. We finally went to this little "club" where the filming took place and had a bang-up time. When the filming was over the manager (or owner? Who WAS that guy?!) of the place started spinning some Hip Hop, Dancehall, and Reggae and we kept it going... *sigh* wow. This past summer trippintrance, flippin_e, andmyself closed out Factory many times... this was before discovering Twilo, but it's all good... My memories of closing are warm and fuzzy - riding home with the wind vlowing through our hair, listening to totally random music... As the night would wear on the drag queens would come out and give quite a show... And all of my Factory memories tend to include hearing "Oompa.. doompa.." lol... Best musical memory from Factory: Hearing "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson in the downstairs room.. Hey, but Keoki is NOT full of himself... LOL It was not a bad set for a short one... He started us off by mixing U2's "Beautiful Day" and we were all rarin' to go after a few hours of dancing in Club Parking Lot... He definitely seemed partial to deanna11 -- I rubbed booties withthis little cohort with the spiky hair... lol All in all the vibe was so great, they quite honestly could have played just about anythng and we would have had an amazing time... I'll have to hear more of this Keoki character before I can come to a real conclusion. OMG.. how much fun did we all have last night?! DEFINITELY go with a PC... Macs are evil. As far as brands are concerned, I have a Gateway and although they have package deals and whatnot, you probably won't be able to get the kind of package you're looking for -- and even though they offer the option to upgrade in time, that's only if you don't mess with their system (which *whoops* I reconfigured to my taste...) oh well, I learned my lesson and I hope I can pass on the wisdom. The best bet is to definitely put it together yourself (or have a friend help) -- you can get good prices for certain quality components on pricewatch.com and other tech-shopper sites. The Sound Claster 5.1 is tight - definitely go with that, and if you're getting your components separately I can tell you that I'm very happy w/ my extra stuff from Creative. And yes, the processor DOES matter! See translucent's post above - he makes a great point about that! Unfortunately, Oo you have a really great point... But it is also pretty obvious that it's usually the same people who bring the drama. I think that more people are partaking out of despiration -- they're frustrated with the crap and hope that a reply might help settle things. People are indeed becoming more critical, and that sucks, but I'm doing my best to pull the cyber-comforter over my head and wait till it passes.
