Unless I have the date wrong, I think she might be playing at a rave on the 17th as well. I don't have the flyer here (I'm at work), but I'll post from home tonight and give you the lowdown. Don't think I can make it down there tonight.... I promised myself I'd cook dinner and maybe go work out as well. But if you're looking for a great unpretentious hangout bar, try O'Hanlon's. It's on 14th St, across the street and ~50ft West of the 14th/1st Ave "L" train stop..... cash only, which keeps most of the llamas out. They have a dart board, Guinness on tap, a few TVs, a great-looking bar and one of the coolest bartenders around (Shamus). Just an idea...... ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. One of the girls here at work was wearing this great top yesterday -- looked like a regular shirt, except it had a teardrop hole right above the breast, with laces to fasten / loosen the top above the neck. Very nice....... Lawler @ Twilo this past week was a very interesting crowd -- a lot more people drinking there than I'm used to seeing. I hear Hallucinogen tossed down an amazing set at his last Synthetic Saddhus set. And I went to an amazing Tsunami party at 138th/3rd Ave 6 months ago -- it was at a roller rink, chill security, amazing vibe and unparalleled music. The Tsunami release party at Chelsea Piers a few months back was ok -- beautiful venue, but not the best acoustics and there were a few train-wrecks (sound system crapped out a few times). I missed out on the one at Mars 2112 -- and I'm glad I did, since that was the sickest night I've ever had at Limelight (the Gatecrasher that kicked off their residency there). Not sure if I'll make the up-and-coming SS party -- Twilo has an amazing lineup in February, and Howells is due to show up there in 2wks as well. How did you find this out?! Even with my Supersaiyajin search engine powers, I never would have thought to look at Iceland as a potential party location...... much less find information about it. Tech-savvy women kick ass..... I'm not gonna be here this weekend..... gettin' mah swerve on in Vegas with a small group of friends. I still have yet to hit SF..... I had a great time.... it was good to meet all the familiar faces, and a few new ones (Petrol, Melichacha) too. I enjoyed Lawler's set quite a bit..... I thought he was going to be spinning an extended set from 2pm on, until somebody (either Al or Frank) clued me in that Quiver was set to close the place down. I'm kinda bummed that my body couldn't keep pace with my energy level -- I had to take a few prolonged breaks to make it through the night. Quiver was a bit odd...... I thought he really train-wrecked with about an hour to go when he did a very abrasive transition from a high- to a low-energy track. And in general his music didn't keep me as interested as most of Lawler's stuff did. But it was still a quality night out, all things considered. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Ya'll have no idea how much I'm looking forward to seeing Tiesto. Every single one of his sets that I've listened to thus far -- Energy 2000, Amsterdam 1999 and a host of individual tracks -- have sent me through the roof! It literally gives me shivers down my spine sometimes, like somebody was tickling my brain with a feather. I've never been to Webster Hall, but I've heard it's not as hardcore a dance club as Twilo is. I've also heard they have cheesy things like trapeze artists and stuff, too.
