  1. Well Jesse.. Your score is 1245. I'd have to say you're an 'underaverage' geek ... not quite there yet, but you're close. Not bad -- second place (so far), although I'm way behind IchiGami. Apparently it takes a lot to be a true geek.... even if the kids at school seemed pretty convinced of it. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  2. Have you heard that they're making a sequel to Snatch? They're gonna call it.... DUMPER! ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." [This message has been edited by vejita (edited 01-29-2001).]
  3. I saw Noiseboy's chat post last night.... figure we haven't had a proper chatroom gathering in a while, so why not? Be there or be ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  4. I don't talk to my parents at all, but they know I smoke pot. I wouldn't expect them to get all self-righteous, either..... my dad went to Woodstock, and use to regale us with stories from under-the-influence. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  5. * BUMP * To everybody who's interested in going on this trip -- please post your date preferences! The sooner we decide on a date, the sooner we can reserve the Barn..... the reservation dates are definitely going quickly. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  6. I think ping is also known as "latency".... it's basically the amount of time, measured in milliseconds, that a request fired off to the server took (roundtrip). The lower ping the better.... I usually look at connection speed first, then ping as factors on where to D/L from. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  7. I'd wanna screw the character that Tyler Durden screwed in "Fight Club" -- Marla. I don't wanna screw the actor herself.... I want the freaky, wackass girl that was portrayed as Marla. "I haven't fucked like that since grade school".... HA! ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  8. Welcome to the Fold! ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  9. $35pp, per night..... the amount scales linearly with the amount of time you stay there. I selected that weekend for the simple fact that we can choose if we want 2 or 3 nights, and it gives us more time to actually have fun (don't have to rush there Friday, leave early Sunday). ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  10. I actually use a Mach3 too, but I do a dry run (no water), and I don't hold the razor flush against the skin. I cut it so there's a bit of stubble left -- thus avoiding the razor burn -- and then I use an electric razor to get the rest. It gets a bit wierd when I try to shave in between my pecs, but all that's required is a bit of patience. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  11. Rodimus Prime. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."

  13. Once and for all: ******************************************** Tiesto will NOT be at Webster Hall. Tiesto WILL be at Limelight on March 3rd. ******************************************** ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  14. My votes are for: #1: June 22 - June 24 #2: May 25 - May 28 (Memorial Day) ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." [This message has been edited by vejita (edited 01-28-2001).]
  15. Aight, folks -- here's Round 2 of the King's Barn party: what date we should make our reservations for. For those of you who are just tuning in -- Ooana and a few others had suggested making two trips: one in Feb/March, and one around May/June. This place is already booked for all of Feb/March, so that's one less option to consider. Here are a list of dates that are still available for rentals. Please choose two dates that you would like the trip to be on, and order them by preference (#1 = top choice, #2 = second choice). That will help us narrow this down a bit. Here we go....... **************************************** Available Weekends: * April 6 - 8 (Palm Sunday / Passover) * April 13 - 15 (Good Friday / Easter) * May 4 - 6 * May 11 - 13 (Mother's Day) * May 18 - 20 * May 25 - 28 (Memorial Day) * June 1 - 3 * June 15 - 17 (Father's Day) * June 22 - 24 **************************************** ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." [This message has been edited by vejita (edited 01-28-2001).]
  16. Aight, another update: ***************************************** * There are no open weekends in Feb or March. As the owner states: "we are all booked and have been for months since ELK MOUNTAIN is open for downhill skiing until the end of March". * The first two weekends in April are available. * The Annex -- the place 1mi down the road -- has bed-space for 12 people, split into two apartments. There is a door connecting the two apartments, but if we rent both rooms, there's a minimum of $300 per night (9 people min, between the two apts). ***************************************** So, sounds like if you wanted to do a separate early trip, you'd have to do it in April. Sucks, but I discovered the hard way whilst planning for NYE that the best real estate goes very quickly. ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  17. dmgreenz, cuteboobie: shall I put your names down on the list, as well? Ooana: Regarding the possibility of two trips -- that could be cool. I'd personally prefer June, or something a bit later on in the year, as February and March will be keeping me quite busy (Twilo, Tiesto, Amsterdam, etc). Let me fire off a second email to these people and get some more details...... ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  18. Aight, I just got an update from the King's Barn owner. Here it is: * The owner has two weekends open in April; all weekends in May are available; all weekend in June are available, except for June 8 - 10. * Up to 40 people can be accomodated in the King's Barn; however, if more rooms are needed, the Annex (check it out on the site) is located 1mi down the road. Those are more like condo units, though. * The Barn is 1/4mi from Thompson -- population 295. There's a country store and a coffee shop in town; there's a supermarket in Susquehanna (9mi from Barn). Thompson is a dry town, but you're perfectly welcome to BYOB. Other restaurants besides the ones in Thompson are 9-10mi away...... ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  19. DUMPER? ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  20. Hehehe..... shhh! Yer not supposed to say that until after we're sure they'll rent to us! ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  21. Well d-uh yer going! Thongs don't have pockets -- and Lord knows you'd never let me keep so much cash on my person after a successful night of ass-p1mping! Apotheosis: I'm not sure we should start planning who brings what just yet. Once we get a better sense of the resources available to us -- cars, drivers, DJs, dj equipment, etc -- we'll know what help we need in making everything work. Cool? ************************************* NOTE: This is all just to gauge interest -- I don't think it would be fair to say "first-come, first-serve" just yet (until people get their $$ in, anyway). Once we have an accurate number of people who want to go on a date we decide upon, we'll find some way of determining who sleeps where, if Barn space is limited. Worst case scenario: we use both the Barn and the Annex -- people might have to drive a quick 2-3 minutes to the Annex to get to their beds, if they're sleeping there. But I'm pretty sure everybody who wants to come will be able to come..... ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend." 23. Hehehe..... there's a shyt-ton of people on the board, actually. As far as "lively"..... come to a meetup sometime. Things can get pretty damn humorous........ Welcome to the Fold! ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  24. I actually met Aphelion over the Internet long before I met him in person. One of the web development companies I did work for in Colorado needed a graphical designer, and I found him totally by luck. His work is awesome ( http://www.aphelion.org ), and I still work with him (albeit indirectly) to this day. The fact that I was actually able to meet him here in NYC after I moved here was a coincidence; the fact that he's a great person and a pleasure to know was icing on the cake. I'm hoping to cajole him into coming to the next meetup..... he hasn't come out clubbing with us yet, but we'll see how long that lasts now that he's fallen into the spider's web that is CNYC. Good to cya here, Rad! ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
  25. I'd have to agree -- "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card is amazing. A few others -- "Snow Crash" -- Neal Stephenson "Neuromancer" -- William Gibson "Flowers for Algernon" -- (i forget) "Tuck Everlasting" -- Natalie Babbitt (maybe?) ------------------ -=Vejita=- "Live through the week. Live for the weekend."
