  1. why isnt there one list of all the halloween parties. i know that jp is at avalon, and i think boris is at crobar. is anyone gonna be at spirit? how about roxy? what the hell is going on that weekend? on a side note...would it be worth it to pill that weekend? i try to do it sparingly (like once or twice a year) and im thinking if these parties will be worth it. probably not im thinking. damn.
  2. dont have a party there. its just a regular bar. not very special at all. i went there a few months ago and was very disappointed. if you just want to go to a bar then go, but thats all it is. a crappy bar
  3. so yeah i didn't make it to Deep for the party. I totally should have, my night ended up being a lame waste of time. I hate when that happens lol. theres gonna be another one next month right? in the mean time ill keep trying to research loftin, jacking, and wacking. who knew dance could be so complicated? does anyone have any liquid clips?
  4. this movie blew. it should be the history of boresome. the whole story about his gay son was wack, and then he out of no where beats the hell out of liek the captain of the baseball team. very unbelievable. the guy with the eye was bad ass. it was violent, but there wasnt very much of it. i wanted to see "crazy joey" do some crazy shit, not karate chop his way out of the situation. he should have cut some ones face off with those things you use to slice pizza with or something. i like the way his wife is like dont touch me, then they fuck, and then she walks away lol!
  5. lol! i always wondered how much money those guys make. they dont seem to happy. i cant imagine the wierd things they see too. lol oh well.
  6. and what if you have no experience? what exactly are the positions to be filled?
  7. i dont think the crowd was really dead most of the night, it was just too packed to do anything but jump up and down. i was shoulder to shoulder for like an hour or two, it was not fun. that and there were bottles all over the floor. i hate when people leave bottles or spill drinks on the dance floor.
  8. i dont know what "tu vas al ver" means but im definitely looking to expand my horizons. i downloaded a bunch of those promo clips and im gonna look at them more thoroughly. i was very impressed with the ecole de sud one. crazy stuff. well see what happens over the next month. a change is definitely needed for me. thanx for all the info again.
  9. well i just dont like parties where people are standing around trying to look good and hook up. usually these are parties where people are not on drugs. this was not the case at ferry. it was not really a hookup or drug crowd. just alot of hardcore trance fans, which was great. i just like to be where people are dancing, but alot of parties i go to people arent there for the music. just an observation. yea suddenly im not feeling so old anymore btw lol!
  10. Well I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I always wanted to see Ferry so I thought I'd check it out. I picked up Passport: Kingdom of the Netherlands this week and was kinda dissappointed, so I thought this might be a bad party. I was wrong. Arriving around midnight at Crobar I found the line was moving pretty fast which was good. The staff was polite, and attractive. Always a good thing. Entering Crobar I was very impressed. It's a good use of space, with a great decor. I did however notice that I was charged different prices for the same drink at different bars around the club. Not a big deal though. I think serge devant was in the main room first. He played an ok set. Nothing to crazy but the crowd was moving early. It was pretty crowded too, but not overly crowded like alot of clubs. The video screens were pretty cool too. Ferry came on about 1:45, and he came pretty fierce. Some nice trance music kept everyone moving, and even though it was crowded on the dance floor there was a pretty bad ass battle going on until this guy who was pilling got all in the space and killed it. By the way there were very few people there rolling. Usually I prefer parties where people are on drugs since they are more likely to dance and not just stand around trying to look good, but this crowd was moving courtesy of devant and corsten. Somewhere between two and three Ferry dropped "Force of gravity" which was SICK. That was the only song from Passport that I liked, but damn does it sound different on big speakers. Definitely good stuff. Most of the people seemed to be familiar with Ferrys songs, which was cool. The music then started to sound really happy, which i hate. So I went to the bar and stood around. At this point I was thinking damn...this music is way too light and happy, I need to go home. I decided to stay though, which was good. During the "happy" hour alot of people kept dancing and then got tired and left I guess. Around four Ferry started kicking ass hardcore. He dropped a mix of "without you" which was great. This song i didn't like on his cd, but on big speakers and with good mixing it was great. He kept the music hard and fast. It was great watching him spin, hes really into the music and the crowd. He was clapping, jumping up and down, giving people thumbs up, and even stopped to pose for a picture while spinning, which i thought was totally cool. Alot of dj's are jerky, but ferry seemed to love the crowd, and the music genuinely. By four forty five I was dying. Legs hurting, dry throat, and just feeling really crappy, but I couldn't leave the floor. I think there was some breakbeats, being played so i grabbed some water real quick and headed back to the floor. 5:10 I was dead. Ferry killed it with "Rock your body" which definitely rocked my body. I've never seen a crowd respond to a song like they did to rock your body. It was insane. Smoke machines kicked in, lights dropped from the ceiling and it was all types of nasty. The crowd had thinned out alot so there was room to dance, but it definitely was not empty. All the real dancers were bugging out at this point (all the people who came to hook up, and a large contingent of f.o.b. asians were mostly the ones who left early) but the music got too loud for me. I don't think crobars system could handle the music being played so loud and my ears really hurt. I left around 5:40, very tired and very pleased. Walking home in the rain however sucked big time. Justin and lisa-hope you found what you were looking for. hope you had fun in nyc Howard from philly- you may see me in d.c. for tiesto Justin from security-nice meeting you. see you at john jay Thorin Aiello-nice seeing you there. hope things worked out with your d.j. Overall it was a great night, great music, great environment. I'll definitely be going back to Crobar. Its one of the best venues I've been to all year. Kind of reminded me of a better version of the Roxy a few years back.
  11. wow! i haven't been on here to check the responses, but im pleasantly surprised that so many people took the time to read and respond. let me clarify some things. -no 23 is not old, but i feel old. priorities do change. -its not about drugs or alcohol. i dont really do drugs anymore. maybe like once or twice a year. -the party scene HAS changed in nyc. - i never had a car to sleep in, but thanx for remembering my post that being said, i went to john jay college, graduated with a b.s. in criminal justice, and now i do contract security. i thought it would be cool to bum around after college so i postponed getting a real job. then i realized its not cool, and rather boring and crappy. my passion is acting, so hopefully i'll be able to work with that. i work nights, then in the daytime i go to rehearsals, or work on my film internship. i'm all over the place. but yeah you guys are right im not old, just feeling burnt out. there is a difference. i want to thank all you people who have been in it for years and still going strong for giving me a new perspective. you'll definitely see me on the scene again this season. with or without drugs i hope to be where the good music is at...now i just have to learn how to dance lol
  12. I'm a bit torn on this one... need advice asap, or been to either club. I'm looking to hear some hard beats tonight. Which party will play harder music...corsten at crobar, or burridge/hawtin? HELP!
  13. it's amazing how things change as time progresses. i used to be all over this board all the time for several years when i first joined. i was all into the threads like oh man i can't believe this guy doesn't like this dj. or there would be the ever present tony draper sux threads or i hate asian threads. then it was all about the current events board. where educated cp'ers had battles of the mind over politics. reading the board today i see that not much has changed, and yet i have changed. i see alot of parties i want to go to but im just to lazy to go to. armin van buuren, i would so go, but i dont feel like being up all night. five years ago i would have bought a stack of pills and tripped out all weekend having the best time ever. now i don't even want to be around people who smoke weed. i listen to music on my cd player, and look around at people with ipods and such. i think wow i am out of the loop. its an awkward time where i am realizing i am getting old. im 23, fresh out of college and in that phase of my life where i am working full time, and alot of overtime, and i just cant keep up the party lifestyle. im gonna turn into one of those guys who goes out in dress pants and a button down shirt thinking im so cool with my new dress shoes. ill buy expensive drinks at nice lounges to console myself and hide the fact that i'm just getting old. i guess the alternative would be me spending all day in the gym getting jacked and becoming a juice head. i guess i'm just wondering, what happens to party people when they get old? who knows....maybe i should just not post b.s. when im bored at work...
  14. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=217860&Mytoken=20050831154419 thats my page...
  15. wow i was just watching this. its pretty crazy stuff. this guy killed mad people, some in front of their kids and shit. then masturbated on them. he described how he would follow people around for a long time to get their routine and then kill them and torture them. then he would go to church and boyscouts meetings. stupid boyscouts. is there any good use for learning how to tie so many knots BESIDES restraining and strangulating people? seriously... Burger Tomato and Ketchup biatch!
  16. wait...so avalon is moving to where spirit is located (which used to be twilo right)...then whats going to happen to the avalon location? when is this happeneing. im confused...someone please explain
  17. i will most likely be there. i met him a few years back when he played at world. hes cool. overdrive killed everyone. love that song. on a side note is avalon closing? i saw a thread about this but dont know whats going on, is it just a rumor?
  18. i need to update my collection. i havent bought a cd in like two or three years. the last i got were tiestos nyana and armin van burins...i dunno what its called but hes on the cover with his finger over his lips like hes shushing somebody. be quiet no techno in the library! jk. anywhoo...what are you listening to?
  19. what exactly is the significance of the jersey? do you wear a fox cuz your foxy? or was it like a present from a friend who died from too much dancing and made you swear to never party without it? do you always wear the jersey when you go out? if i ever make a cool movie (which i hopefully will) i'm gonna base a character on you who wears a jersey like that to parties...and maybe is a hitwoman or something cool.
  20. yeah walking dogs looks fun. especially on the upper east side where its all pugs and dachsunds that dont bark or do anything but lounge around. thats easy money. i always wondered though do those guys pick up all the poop? alternatively you could sell drugs. thats a good way to make money, but it takes a while to build a customer base.
  21. are you serious? maybe i should do that...that sounds like easy cheeze, and not the kind that comes in a can.
