  1. 10th street lounge is really cool. drinks are a little pricey, but the atmosphere is great. it's on 10th street (hence the name ) between 1st & 2nd ave. it's not really obvious so you have to be careful not to pass it. there's a small metal plaque outside that has the name engraved.
  2. it depends on where you go and what you want. a basic facial will run you about $50-$70 average i think - that's a guess. i've only been to bliss and i loved it. go to their website - www.blissworld.com - they list all their services and prices. you can either get her a gift certificate for a specific service, or if it's too expensive, you can just get it for a certain amount so she can use if for whatever she wants. they also have great beauty products. there are two locations in the city - one in soho and the other on 57th, i think. also, if you go to newyork.citysearch.com, and search for "day spa" you'll get a whole bunch of listings in the city. i hope this helps...
  3. you could get her a gift certificate for a spa service - facial, massage, pedicure, etc. those always go over well with women...bliss is a great one, and there are tons of others in the city. i don't know how much you wanna spend, but if you're willing to splurge a little...
  4. bliss spa (there's one in soho and midtown, like 57th st) has amazing massages. you need to book in advance because they're so busy, but they also get cancellations all the time so you might get lucky. check out they're website - www.blissworld.com - all their services are listed. i got a 2 1/2 hour massage there - they literally had to peel me off the table. it was fuckin awesome. it's kind of expensive, but i think it's worth it. if you ever get a chance to go, i highly recommend it.
  5. congrats andy! and that deserves a *BIG HUG* from me.
  6. there is a book out that you can buy called "manhattan apartment rentals" - or something like that. just go to any barnes and noble and ask - they'll know what you're talking about. anyway, it's a list of all the management companies for a lot of the buildings in manhattan. it's broken up into all the different sections of manhattan (soho, village, upper west side, etc) and it lists phone numbers of the management company, what kind of apartments are available in that building (1BR, 2Br, etc.), etc. if you call the management company directly, you can avoid the broker's fee. that's how my roommate and i found our apartment. we managed to avoid over $4,000 in fees. you have to be persistant though and some of the management companies use brokers exclusively, but for the most part, you can avoid calling brokers with this book. i can get you the exact name, but it's at home, so if you can wait till tomorrow... hope this helps.
  7. basically i get compared to any famous asian woman out there - and right now that leaves a choice of lucy liu & tia carrere. usually this is coming from some dumb ass drunk guy thinking he's being original by making that comparison. of course i don't look anything like them, but i guess the fact that we're all asian is close enough for him.
  8. rick: since i can't make it out this weekend, come monday, i better not hear that you've found another twilo buddy.
  9. well, rather than tell you, if we ever meet , ask me nicely and i'll gladly comply - actions speak louder than words.
  10. congrats, grampa ricky! keep an eye on the little one...you don't wanna lose the tiny creature. by the way - is it boy or girl?
  11. ok, i'll allow it. don't want you to be lonely. and you need someone there to hear your rambling!! hahaha. j/k.
  12. hehe...well, let's see...do you take non-monetary forms of bribes? i could offer you a massage or a hug (ask mikey_m & az_tec about either of those )...ummm...i'm up for suggestions as long as they're not too freaky - freakiness you gotta earn over time. hahahahahaha. or i could just buy you a drink or two, but that's kinda boring, dontcha think?

  14. unfortunately, no amount of brushing is going to help if you suffer from halitosis. you need to see a doctor and get it treated - they gotta scrape your tongue, give you special mouthwash, etc. in the meantime, the rest of us have to suffer until they figure it out. you'd think people turning blue from not breathing around them might clue them in...
  15. unfortunately, i can't go, but everyone have a great time and make sure to have a drink for me!
  16. anytime and don't forget me on that list!
