  1. Wow, it's great to see NYC nightlife back to it's true form. I don't think any other city in this country has an awesome lineup like this.
  2. What do you mean by "white" clubs? I go to crobar/ spirit all the time and there are plenty of asians, hispanics, indians, blacks, etc.... there as well. Of course they attract a different class and kind of crowd at crobar/spirit than at Ikon/Avalon, but that's because those clubs cater to a different clientle and are classier than Ikon/Avalon. But I don't know how you can consider Crobar/Spirit "white" clubs.
  3. Thanks dgmodel for putting up those stats. My point is not that all white males are serial killers but that to judge a whole race by the actions of a few is stupid, racist, and baseless.
  4. A majority of serial killers and child molesters are white males. Does that mean all white males should be banned from schools or being around children. Since most serial killers have been white, should we judge all white males as being off their rocker. Give me a fuckin break. There are plenty of asian people that are hard working and fun to party with. As with any race you have assholes and when gangs are invloved fights ussualy break out. It doesn't matter if it's a gang made up of african americans, italians, russians, asians, etc....fights break out. Thats why clubs should not allow large groups of guys into a place and have a stricter door. Race is not a factor.
  5. Hey Ms D, Unless you're already above 50th street or if it's warm out, don't walk to IKON. IKON is all the way on the west side of manhattan and you have to go through a number of avenues. It can be a painful walk across, although it might be a piece of cake for you all. I used to go to Times Square to watch the ball every year....it was never a problem before but since 9/11 the cops have become pretty strict about not allowing alcohol and bottles in general in the area btwn 6th and 8th avenues. Even though waiting for the ball to drop can be extremely painful.....there's no greater moment than when it does. I give you props for going to Times Sq. and then clubbing after that. Arv
  6. Hey Ms D., You will have no problem buying alcohol at Ikon, although it'll be expensive so drink up before if u can. Ikon's a big place and they're ussualy not picky about the dress code, and on nye for pvd expect to see a wide group of people. PVD won't be on until after 12 and since Ikon is selling tickets at the door for not much more expect to see a big rush of people after 12:30am.....that's ussualy what happens at events like this...esp. since a big dj like PVD is spinning....so if you wanna beat the lines get there before then if u can. Hope that helps. I'm pretty sure I'm going there for NYE, it should be a fun night
  7. I'm glad Spirit honored the clubplanet list. They also let us in through the VIP-upstairs enterance so it was nice having access to the whole club. The energy and music brought on by Jason Jollins and G&D were great. Although, the styles were a bit of a contrast......I really enjoyed both. I like the setup and lighting at Spirit......It's no doubt much nicer than Avalon...and at about the same level as crobar. What sucks about Spirit was the lack of diversity in the main floor crowd. Way too many Guidos and Asians. I found the crowd to actually be much better upstairs in the hip-hop room but couldn't stay up there given the great music that was being played downstairs.
  8. and how can anyone say that Bush won in a landslide........48% of voters did NOT vote for him. All I have to say is, whatever happens in the next 4 years....it's all on Bush and the Republicans now. You can't blame democrats for anything since republicans have total control of the government.....no more finger pointing at the clinton administration. If the occupation of Iraq is in the same state as it is now, if the economy is still stagnant, and if osama bin laden is not caught, I feel in 4 years there would be a clean sweep by the democratic party...the republicans wont be able to wave the flag around and exploit 9/11 anymore.......and a sweep by the dems would be just as bad....because then their special interests would get their way.
  9. I don't think the other poster was trying to be racist. But it is fact that you will see alot of b&t'rs (bridge&tunnel) with their spiked up hair and wifebeaters.....that know nothing about nyc nightlife besides occasionaly going to big clubs like IKON. And since it is PVD, who has reached commercial status, you'll defn get a huge turnout of this type of crowd. However, again it is PVD (still one of the best dj's in the world) spinning at a big, open space such as IKON.......I'm so sick of Avalon and Crobar....where most major DJ's have been going....so this will defn be a hard opportunity to pass up for new years eve.
  10. Even while constantly cheating or trying to play dirty by throwing at players heads they still cant manage to win a world championship. Red SUX are and always be the team of LOSERS!!!!
  11. I was at game 6 and will be back in the bronx tonight. Here's the difference between us Yankee fans and Red Sux fans. We're confident our team will pull it out in the end while red sux fans are scared shit that they're about to lose the game at any moment.....but they've been doing that since 1918.
  12. The club is called Glass and is on 27th and 10th avenues next to Marquis in the meatpacking district. voted one of New Yorks 20 hippest venues and winner of numerous bar design awards, this magical space built using tones of glass and inovative lighting is breathtaking. The party has a european theme, St Tropez, with a DJ from Paris playing funky house, disco, Rnb, Rock Pop and Classics guarenteed to get people dancing on the tables. Whats more they are offering deals on beers and free shots througout the night. Even better is that it is FREE TO GET IN if on the LIST. email k_virani@hotmail.com or arv105@aol.com to get in free
  13. It's a party hosted by BPM magazine and I think you need to be on their list to get in. Im going tonight with a few of my friends. Let me know if any other cp'rs are headin down there tonight
  14. I RSVP'd and got an invitation back....so I'll prob check this out. Not often that you get PVD, Sasha, etc. in a place together and for free. Let me know if there will be a cp meetup. Thanks!!
  15. I just wanted to say thank you for a great night of trance music. Both DJ Eddie Lee and G&D threw down great sets and I had an awesome time that night dancing to great music. The crowd could have been better but I guess thats expected given the fake girls gone wild party that was supposedly also happening.
  16. I am not part of the radical left or right. Obviously, I think invading and occupying Iraq was a huge error, and what's happening now is exactly what many anti-Iraq people said would happen. Unfortunately, as long as U.S soldiers are occupying and policing a foreign nation, there will be more resentment and anger towards them, which will help islamic extremists like al-queda. Also, I think our troops could be of better use protecting americans here at home than trying to keep the peace in 120 degree weather in Iraq for what looks like an indefinite period of time
  17. He wasn't horrible.....but could have done a better job of mixing things up in hisset......also defn way too crowded to really move to the music.....and many people were just standing there and not into the music at akk....and in fact would get mad when me and my friends would dance because they had to move a step back...........it was defn good meeting some of the cp'rs including the mask.....you guys and girls have an awesome vibe and know how to get down....I just wish the place was filled with more people like yourselves.....
  18. arabia and pakistan......Why did Bush do saudi arabia and al-quea a favor by occupying Iraq. Im sorry, I know Saddam was a bad guy to his people but what do you think happens to saudis, libyans, kuwaitis who oppose thier gov't....they get fuckin beheaded, yet these country are "our friends" so its okay? And we do need to pull out of Iraq now....because now instead of one dictaor obssesed with money and power you have 10 islamic fundamentalist clerics fighting for the country and as our troops are sitting ducks in Iraq. Also Saddam didnt attack us on 9/11.....islamic fundamentalists backed by countries like saudi arabia did. Attacking Iraq was a mistake and now we are paying the price. We need a change in leadership badly
  19. I think everyone is meeting up around 1 am in the back corner of the main floor, just make a right after the tunnel and before the bar Hope to see you there, it should be an awesome night
  20. I defn cant miss G&D......even if it's at avalon. That should be an awesome night
  21. I can't wait for them to arrive and spin in NYC.
  22. I think everyone is meeting up around 1am in the right corner on the main floor after you walk through the tunnel.
