Honestly go fuck yourself. If you don't like trance, then don't buy trance cd's or go to trance events. Armin always packs a club when he comes to New York and I want him to continue coming to NY and he will as long as clubs continue to be packed when great trance dj's like Armin come to NY. Just because you don't like a particular type of music doesn't mean that the rest of New York has to cater to what you like.

it's great that Ultra is trying to bring an outdoor festival to New York. I'm sick of heading down to Miami every fuckin year and the cokeheads and characters of miami, which includes your fair share of "ktu head types", are nothing to brag about. I'll put up with the "ktu heads" and I realize that there will be flaws with this event, but it's a start.....and hopefully Ultra New York will get bigger and better as the years go on.

Crobar and Spirit for clubs Cielo, Quo, Rock Candy, Lotus, Le Souk, Blvd...are all decent lounges/ small clubs Most of the pictures on this site are generic and are not taken at the club. If you notice the pictures are the same under many diff clubs

white, black, arab, hispanic, etc then should have a little extra scruitiny. As far as being searched, I have no problem because I have nothing to hide. I do have a problem with people being searched SOLEY because of their skin color because a) just because they have a certain skin color doesn't make them arab and certainly not muslim again more importantly, there are muslim fundamentalists of every skin color, (walker lindh, padilla, reid) and other crazy nuts like McVeigh that al-queda would love to recruit and al-queda has already used members of different racial backgrounds in previous attacks (look at the guy they just arrested in London) Also that 5 yr old girl in front of you might be innocent but if a terrorist gave her a doll filled with explosives or if somebody snuck something in the bag of the old lady......all unlikely scenarios but remember groups like al-queda are always coming up with new ways to cause destruction. All people that look suspicious, such as someone wearing a trenchcoat in the summer should be searched and all middle aged males, white, black, arab, hispanic, indian should be given a little extra scrutiny for suspicious activity......but otherwise the searches should remain random......not as good as searching everybody....but still better than just searching people of a certain skin color

You start profiling, you are making it alot easier for terrorist groups to carry out their attacks. Go ask the russians what most of the suicide bombers in the opera house and schools looked like. If the police are only searching "arab" looking people don't you think that it would be common sense that groups like al-queda would send in "non-arab" looking people to carry out their attacks because they would not be searched. In fact did you see the pictures of 2 of the attempted bombers from the London attacks, they looked more black than arab. If you think this is bs and racial profiling works, please state your reasons why.....according to oldtimer's example random seraches only stop 1 in 5 people leaving an 80% chance to sneak through with a bomb. However, with profiling those chances jump to 100% as long as terrorist groups send in someone who does not fit the profile....... So although random searches are not completly effective they are better than profiling.

because you are basically telling terrorist groups what type of person to send to do the bombings. Any person with half a brain knows that there are also black, white, hispanic muslims. 2 of the suspects in the last london bombing were black. There are thousands of white converts, esp in europe. In russia, many of the suicide bombers have been women, some with blond hair and blue eyes. The shoe bomber, Richard Reid, was Jamican and Padilla who was plotting attacks in the U.S is hispanic. Therefore, Profiling just doesn't work.

armin didnt start spinning until around 3:30am.....his flight was diverted and he had to drive into the city.....so it was miserable waiting until then...but his set was awesome....i had to leave around 5:30...but supposdly he didnt spin for much longer than that.

it all depends on the dj. There are great trance dj's and horrrible ones that just play recycled shit. But the same is true about DJ's that spin house music or any other type of music.

Is Ultra going to be held on June 15th or September 15th. I thought I saw a post saying Ultra NYC was going to be held in September but on the calendar it says June 15th. Thanks

anybody that believes that, hasn't spent much time away from the computer. Trance music and dj's are extremely popular through much of the world and are popular in nyc as well. Every time I've been to a club when a trance dj has been spinning this year it has been packed. Don't believe me, then check out next time tiesto, atb, pvd, avb, etc perform and I guarantee you it will be packed.

Aren't those same guys also known as derb? I was debating whether to spend $45 for PVD, when I know he will be back again in the park this summer. This is tempting, especially for $10, but will there be any crowd for this event, given PVD at Crobar and given they are spinning at Webster Hall?

Avalon is swamped by the "Asian Invasion" but so are ALL the other clubs that are bringing in big name DJ's. Face it, if you're going to a club to listen to a top dj's, you're gonna have to deal with these people. Avalon is not my favorite club in the city, however, I will go there when a DJ that I like is spinning there. From the orignial post, I would also like to know what type of music this group spins. I've never heard of em but it seems like they've held some big events in places like Ibiza and Amsterdam.

I am not a promoter and I'll tell you I had a great time at webster hall for Cosmic Cate. Richie Neale was also great and I look forward to hearing him again. I give the promoters and Webster Hall props for booking top quality Trance DJ's and making it a weekly event. With that being said, yes Webster Hall is a shithole....but so are all the other big clubs that book big name dj's with the exception of Crobar. And I would even argue that the sound and lighting at the main floor at WH could rival any of the clubs. I would only go to WH for the music and am not expecting it to be a place like cielo or duvet. WH does need to do something about its bouncers and door staff. They have no reason to be assholes and people on a list or those that have already paid and have these "no-wait" passes that they give out should not have to wait out on the street and wait longer than the general admin line.

I am glad that webster hall is starting to book real talent again like moby and possibly ATB??? I've had good times at webster hall back in the day and look forward to going there again. Im sick of having to go to crobar, spirit, or avalon to hear big name dj's. And to the people who called the city about a fake roof collapse........get a life!!!

NRG was sick and Markus Schultz kept the crowd going afterwards. Sure you had yor usual meatheads and the asian crowd....which you would find in any of the big clubs....but for the most part the crowd was good, the venue and effects were great, and the music was awesome!
