  1. I'll be a dork and give you the who, what where when and why... Who: A guy named Pete and two of his partners worked with NB representatives who agreed to allow a club in the town. What: A Club. Music will range from commercial club/house/vocals to deep hard house/trance. It'll be NY style. I'm thinking that for much of the clientelle, they will be spending half the night saying "I know this song. I love this song" and the other half of the night saying "What the fuck is this song, I've gotta find out what it is." A lot of people go out to clubs and want to hear what is familar to them, and others just want to hear new beats. I'd like to try to cater to both as best as possible. The resident DJ that we have lined up is perfect for this. Where: On the other side of Stress Factory....near the parking deck. If you walk down there right now, you'll see a temporary sign for it. When: Hopefully beginning of November(Depends on scheduling inspections and stuff) Why: Central Jersey needs to make it's place on the map for nightclubs and good music. I wish I had this when I went to Rutgers -Slate
  2. Dropped this track about a month ago...it's pretty chill
  3. Saleen- I don't agree. In my experience, they get everything on Vinyl within a week of it's release. The only thing that you can get on the internet quicker is stuff from DJ's that haven't gotten their song signed on a label yet. The only place I've seen that get's more stuff quicker is Satellite in NY.
  4. Buildup does rule! How about Age of the Machines...that has some nice build up. My favoritre songs this week-- Shaker Drink to Get Drunk Sleeper
  5. Lizzy...don't worry, you can meet up with everyone next week to ID Rhythm Ready, Gladiator and whatever other "Trademark" Draper songs he plays EVERY week. LOL
  6. JP was playing at at about 4 am, I think...he was mixing it with the vocal from Blow up the Speaker...I kept hearing "This is your ride, your ride, your ride", but it was a different song in the background.
  7. Uplifting? hmmmm... how about Benjamin Diamond-Love Will Bring Us Back or Roger Sanchez-Another or finally Soul Logic (Chicco Secci & Robbie Rivera) - Let's get together. These songs are rediculous. JP plays the last two at Factory...The second one is a UK track...dont know if its on vinyl in the U.S. yet...only have a radio version. Enjoy.
  8. I do like that song, but Iliked it better 4 months ago when it came out.
  9. get this...one of my friends bought tickets for the show on ebay...well....ticketmaster is refunding everyone by crediting the purchaser's credit card....the guy who sold my frined the tickets is gonna get the money and my friend is screwed! ahahahahaa...that sucks
  10. F.U....the website is awsome...lol....No, I know the website is wack right now. We haven't formally hired anyone to design it and don't even have a host yet, hence the advertisement at the bottom. We have a guy in mind that does freelance work, we are probably going with him. I'll let you know. Thanks
  11. Fu...where are you from..originally. I knew a Chris Fu from Hightstown...that you?
  12. Yes...there is going to be a club in NB....it is going to be sick...I know you are skeptical, because NB has never had anything like this before....well, those days are over...it's been in the works for over a year now...liquor liscence was obtained a long time ago...the place is under construction, designers from major NY and Philly Clubs have been hired as well as Sound guys and lighting guys from some of the most famous NY/Philly clubs and the music is going to be better than the crap you are used to hearing in the area....that's all I can say for now...I'll post more when I am allowed. Everybody involved is real excited...we've been in contact with a lot of major DJ's to talk about guest spots...and have a lot of good ideas. Feel free to give some feedback. The goal is to make this place the best, and it can only be the best if you all like it...
  13. Sorry...you're all a little off. He was gonna close it at first, but changed his mind....due to some drama on the ************ board. Anyway, after that, Wedge had a shit load of hits to the site this month...The Company hosting his site is now asking for more money. He paid it, and it should be back up soon, in full force.
  14. I'm gonna give "having sex in front of your roomate" the thumbs up. I think that sex is very important and if they need to have it right then, right there, then they should. And they shouldnt give a crap if you do the same thing to them. Real friends don't get mad when you bang in front of them.
  15. Jonathan Peters, Tenaglia, Oakenfeld....ok fine Junior can come too. Oh my god...I can't even imagine...That would be bigger than Woodstock.... ------------------ I remember this sound...the speakers were kicking this incredible bass....I've never heard anything like this before.....

    vinyl....

Vinyl is definitely one of the best clubs in terms of music... especially on a Friday night. But it is a very different crowd...but everyone is overly chill
  17. Yeah, that track is definitely hot.
  18. More Details..............................................We are looking for a total of 18 DJs 3 DJs will compete each Friday Night starting on March 2. All DJ submissions must be submitted by Friday Feb 9 We are looking for a mixed cd that is 30 minutes in length and we are listening for the following: Variety of Music, creativity, originality, beat mixing, song transitions, quick mixes, length of mixes and anything else that may catch our ear. We will post the Finalists on our website on Friday February 16 The Contest: Each DJ will have approx 1 20 min - 1/2 hour set. Starting at approx 10:30. Since KatManDu has a mainstream crowd we are looking for versality and we will be looking at playlists so that the jocks will not be playing the same songs. Judges will judge on the following: Creativity 20 Points Originality 20 Points Variety of Music 20 Points Audience Response 20 Points Beat Mixing 20 Points Transition of Music 20 Points Guest Attendance 10 Points Total 130 Points 1. KatManDu reserves the right to remove the DJ from the booth if they feel that the crowd is not responding to the DJ. 2. All DJs must abide by KatManDu rules, which are a s follows: No Drinking in the booth, you must start on time, you must be available to spin when scheduled there will be no switching allowed under NO CIRCUMSTANCE. 3. You must stick to your playlist unless you feel the crowd may respond to something differently at which that point you may ask the jusge in te booth if you can, once he checks the others playlists then its OK under his apporval. 4. No extra equipment will be allowed to be brought in for the spin - off. No effects processors, etc. Our booth conists of 2 technic sl-1200's, 1 Rane MP-22 mixer, a pioneer CMX-5000 cd players (if you would rather use a denon that can be accomated.) All of the guest DJS wil be given flyers on February 21 at a meeting that all DJS MUST attend. THe meeting will be held at 8 PM at KatManDu in Trenton. These flyers will have a space for the guest to write his or her name in and each flyer will be good for a $2 discount good for the night that, that DJ is spinning. The DJ will receive $1 per head for each person that walks through the door on that night. This will also be a way for us to judge how many people that the DJ brough through the door and the DJ will be given points for the amount of passes that come through. Example. If there are 3 DJs and one brings in 100 people, the other brings in 50 and the third brings in 30 that will be equivalent to 10 pts, 5 pts and 3 pts respectively. Thanks again- Slate
  19. 11 DJ's entered so far. Still have seven openings for the DJ Competition!
  20. OK, I admit it. I am a newbie to the board...not to the page, though. Club Planet gets major support from my company! Hey even you old school people were Newbie's once, right? -Slate and did Tsettos really respond to the criticism about his music. I cant believe that...If that was really him, he need not explain himself to poeple that aren't DJ's themselves! They just wouldnt understand!
  21. Trenton's not THAT far...Half hour from New Brunswick...I guess if you live in in North Jersey it could be kinda far. Well, anyway. got part of the prize info....start off with a $500 gift certificate to Sam Ash Music...more to come! and I hope to see everyone at the Factory this weekend for JP's b-day!!!!!!
  22. I guess not you, bro. -Slate
