Just got back from DC and damn I'm exhausted!..... Well, despite the invasion of the dirty ravers & the fact that MJ Cole cancelled, my best friend and I had a really Great time!!!! We were very impressed w/Howells....he had us dancing for nearly 5 hrs nonstop! Absolutely loved it! unfortunately, we didn't get in til after 1am and missed the meetup ....but if you happened to have seen an asian clubgirl (you've probably never seen before) w/short hair, spiky in the back w/a cute, shirtless white guy dancing our asses off...that was probably us......we left a bit before 6am....when did he finally stop? Hmmm....drank, drank, and drank Friday nite in Richmond then headed on up to DC Sat. nite..... Stayed @ the Topaz Hotel (cute, cozy place!). Started off @ Dragonfly & managed to break my glass on the table we were at (oops!), hopped on over to Velvet for a little bit of gayness, and finished off @ Red for a great nite of House-ness....didn't sleep but a whole 1 hour, but managed to walk around and eat a delicious Sunday brunch at this French place in Adams Morgan and sighted this beautiful asian girl I've seen over the years in DC (she must be stalking me! lol - hey I can dream.) All in all, a great time as usual....too bad I'm feeling so & :goofy: today.....I think I need to go into rehab until the next DC adventure. (MJ Cole & Danny Howells) and as always...I love DC. -YG

My lil bro just moved into the area a few days ago and being new to the city all by him lonesome self and his bday this weekend - he (we for when I come to visit) was hoping to find a fun vibing, soulful House club/lounge/hangout/what have you...any suggestions? So far he's probably going to check out satoshi @ crobar and creamer @ redno5 .....definitely on the progressive side but hey variety is the spice of life.....anyways, are these places still fun & happening? thanks in advance for any recommendations....!!! -YG

My crew and I definitely had an AWESOME time that fine evening w/Mr. Farina & company..... Loved the renovations. Loved the rooftop - nice vibe & tunes! which was a huge relief especially when the place got so jam-packed & hot that you could hardly breathe....unfortunately the drinks up there were weak. Farina was GREAT tho I wish he spun a little more like he did the last 30-45 min of his set.....still very enjoyable nonetheless. Perfect drinks from the bartender on the 2nd floor, lots of pretty girls, wonderful vibe, and the creep/jerk factor was very low....so all in all an Incredible time had by all. -YG.....I love DC!

Well I'll be heading to Richmond to pick my peeps up then head on up for Farina....$15 all nite - doors open @ 10pm. I'll be da asian mama with the somewhat spikey hair getting her groove on..... Hope to meet some of you ?? and yes spinsaikel, isn't angelina just divine??? -yg

Well damn!!! And we had extra tickets too! Was only able to sell one of them since we got there late......ah well. Yes, it was fun fun fun.

Ugh, now that I finally feel 100% from my DC weekend extravaganza....I can give my own little review:.... Well we started out with some sushi and many many drinks @ Dragonfly and rushed back to the hotel room to change....left for the show @ 8:30pm.....my good friend who wasn't going offered to take us there and damn him for being a stubborn guy that "knew" where he was going ....we didn't get there until 9:30pm and that's after we finally jumped out and hopped into a cab!! I know he meant well but ARgh!!! But anyways.....the show sold out and the main room was jam-packed.....we couldn't find a decent spot anywhere at this point....I was pretty annoyed with the fact that I couldnt see over anyone and the volume was way too low in my opinion. Though the vibe was very fun & festive. They sounded pretty good from what I remember but they could have definitely added more "ooooomph" to their sound. After hearing "What have I done to deserve this" and "West End Girls", I decided to wander off.... Now this was a bit of a blur as I was quite & po'd @ my girl.....(I guess that's what happens when you drink so much so quickly so early on!).......but an hour or so later, I find her all :goofy: ....and once we both sobered up a bit it was allllll GOOD. Here on out it was an incredibly good time - great mix of ppl, great vibe, fun music, saw lots of old friends from Richmond, and met plenty of interesting, cool ppl. We were upstairs in the main room for a while, but once we both went back into the front room there was no going back! The music was so much more deep, housey, and soulful - definitely more my style. So we were here for most of the remainder of the evening shaking our booties....Anyone know who was spinning in the front room? All in all a fantastic evening......now was the PSB worth $40? I don't think so....I don't think Nation is conducive to having shows like that like let's say the 930 club or the Norva. Was VN fun? Yes. Was the entire evening worth the $40 admission - DEFINITELY!!!!!!!!!!!!! For those of you that were there - my girl was in a black leather top, skirt, fishnets and a rainbow-colored wig and I on the other hand - asian girl w/short hair, black sleeveless top, skirt and dancing my bootie off..... Hope everyone had a great time as well and a better PSB experience/viewing than I.....can't wait for my next DC trip tho. -YG
