  1. I would gladly give you a lift Milelle but just found out that Danny T is NOT spinning @ Vinyl this weekend - he's in Ibiza ...boohoo. As for DH, he technically starts @ 1am Monday and well if I did go, I know I'd probably be there until they kicked us out (whenever that may be) and then there's the drive back south to Virginia. Ick! And early morning classes on Tues. Looks like I may be hanging out in DC - what's going on in DC this weekend anyways? besides buzz & glow. I heard about Saeed & Palash on Sunday which sounds tempting..... Have fun in NYC! -YG
  2. Awww damn, too bad DT isn't in NYC this weekend....was looking forward to the experience. *sniff sniff* And Ooana, I'm right there with you in terms of going out by yourself, being w/just yourself and losing yourself to the music...I do this often (especially now that I'm in a new area) - love to sit back and let the music take me where it wants to. Oh and meeting ppl is great but that's not my primary goal...... -YG
  3. I'm actually thinking of driving up Friday for Danny T.....not sure if I can stay for DH though...my 1st day of classes are the next day..... Hmmm. -YG
  4. Hey Chinado11, I think DC will welcome PvD very very well!!!! I saw him @ Buzz 2 yrs ago and everyone was loving him!!!!! He was wearing us out thin and we kept beggin for me....I think he ended close to 7am! I also saw him @ twilo and the energy level there is incredibly high but way too overcrowded & sweaty & too much pushing & shoving....no room to dance! So I think the Armory will be just right for him.... Ppl are already talking bout PVD thanksgiving weekend .... -YG
  5. Hell yes, I'm all about the music and dancing my little yellow ass off .... on to a more pressing issue: I've been dying to see the man DT himself for years and I've been seriously considering driving up from Virginia to see him this Friday! Soooo, I just wanted to make sure that he is definitely spinning his usual Friday nite this weekend before I decide anything. I checked out his website but it only had his Ibiza date for Sept....... Is the cover still $10 all nite? thanks in advance! much love, YG
  6. Yeah they made it out that it was probably going to be Madonna, but I had a feeling that it wouldn't have been since she hasn't been seen anywhere after her previous shows.... it was a Madonna look-alike ....let me tell you that my friends said that it was such an anti-climatic moment when everyone realized it wasn't her..... btw, MADONNA WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!! -YG
  7. My girl & I did and had the time of our lives!!!!!!! The diva of all divas has captured my heart once again! -YG
  8. Just checking to see if you any of you partykids are hitting Buzz this Friday....????? I haven't been since the nite with MJ Cole (who was awesome) & Sandra Collins (what a disappoinment!). I hope Oakenfold delivers....and the vibe is good. Well I'm off to order my tickets! Ciao! -YG

  11. Hi everyone! I don't post too often, but this topic is just making me speak up. Now I am 3hrs SE of DC so I don't know it as well as everyone up there but I do frequent it as often as possible (I LOVE DC! ) I've been hitting all sorts of clubs and parties for nearly 8 years (25 now). In DC, I've been to Tracks, Hung Jury, 5, Red, ESL, Heaven & Hell, Nations, the Edge, 11th Hour/the Saint, the Cage, and probaly a couple more I can't remember. My ultimate fave place to go to in DC is Red - particularly on Sundays - it is small and intimate, the vibe is incredible, and the music is awesome. Fave clubs venue-wise are Tracks, Nations, and I actually see alot of potential in the 930 Club if they worked on the lighting and sound (I like the layout - went to see DD there and had a fun time). Oh another gem we have found is Andalau on Sundays! Now this is a classy, cozy, intimate place. My ideal club would be very classy, loungy, and cozy....but as well as have a nice-sized dancefloor with good lighting and sound. Absolutely love House, the progressive sound, some trance, 2-step, breaks, intelligent dnb.... As of late, I have been more into the smaller, intimate venues because the vibe tends to be incredible...don't get me wrong I do miss the large clubs (ie. Buzz - we saw MJ Cole and were very impressed - great vibe in there too!) but they just haven't been doing it for me like they used to. *shrug* The M3 parties are always fun. Not a big fan of the "catch all" type parties, but hey to each their own. So all in all, I usually go to a party or club for a particular dj and/or vibe to dance my ass off. As for how to "describe" myself...well I'm not a raver and my definition of a clubgirl tends to be different from others....so let's call me a danceaholic! Ummmmm, I hope I answered some of the questions. Take care and keep on dancing Dc - you all have a great thang. -YG
  12. Hey everyone! I'm done with finals tomorrow and ready to party it up....so Sunday, I'll be making the 3hr drive up to lose myself in some wonderful House-ness @ Andalau and Red (w/SAM!!!)......anyone else going to hit these up??? Ciao! -YG
  13. I hear Danny's CDs do not even come close to his live sets...but one of these days, I will make it up to Vinyl for him. I absolutely love disc 1 of the London GU series, but disc 2 kind of bored me. Personally, I prefer the Athens GU. It's darker, funkier, and just different. If you come across a live set somewhere let us know! I've been looking for one for quite some time. =] -YG
  14. Saeed & Palaash have residency @ Red on alternating Thursdays....Tom B(londett) on the other Thurs. Doug Smith every other Sat. and Sam the Man on Sundays. Deep Dish do not have a residency there (though I would absolutely love that!)...but they may make a guest appearance there once in a blue moon. Btw, Deep Dish on 5/12 @ 930Club!!!!!! Got our tix and so ready for them! -YG
  15. I am so envious of all of you !!!! But if I had to choose, it would be Danny and Digweed all the way until the very end......just thinking about it gives me goosebumps!!! Have fun and be safe all! At least I'll get to boogie to SAndra Collins and some garage.... -YG
  16. Will be hitting Buzz for the first time this year and will finally be able to check out miss Sandra Collins......anyone else going? Anyone else seen her live??? Thanks and keep on dancing, YG
  17. I know this is way early but I am very excited about this one.... Deep Dish @ the 930 Club on 5/12/01 !!!!!!!! Awww yeah. I hope they spin all nite long! Will be getting my tix in the next week or so. =) -YG
  18. I know she doesn't count since she doesn't post here but my roommate just turned 30! and is still partying and clubbing as often as she can.....those crazy MDs. She my mentor! peace! -YG
  19. I wish I was!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhh, I wish I was in DC. I'm listening to the first CD of his Nocturnal Frequencies set - boy, he loves his drums!!!! Started off a bit too slow for me at first but now it is really NICE!!!!! Oh I love my house! Have fun and post a review for us!!! -YG
  20. My faves that I have seen would have to be Deep Dish, Tom B, Sam "the man" Burns, and Ty T! These boys know how to get my soul moving and my bootie grooving. I've also heard mixtapes of Saeed which I like but have yet been able to see him in person. Keep on dancing.... -YG
  21. Hey hey, I'm the big 25 myself and have been going very very strong since I got my first taste of a party @ the age of 18. Before entering grad school I was hitting the clubs/parties about twice a week......ahhhh I miss them days - got so many of my friends to dance for the first time and into the club scene... Haven't been able to do much of it lately since I started school again (and it is lacking out here!) but I definitely made up for it during my Spring Break....danced my bootie off in Richmond, DC, and Philly at 6 clubs over a handful of days..... can anyone say Danceaholic?!?!?!?! Btw, I LOVE DC! =) much love! -YG
  22. Hey thanks all! Looks like we'll be hitting up FLUID for sure on SAt. nite (all about some deeeeeeeeeeeeep house) then probably Motion and/or Shampoo afterwards. What's the info for the party @ Transit on Sat.nite????
  23. Hey all, I'm heading up to Philly for the first time then 2nd weekend of March and was hoping some of you Philly-heads can give me some suggestions....as far as clubs are concerned. I LOVE to dance, so good music is a Must. Be it House, trance, breaks, progressive, I'm in my mid-20s....any help would be great! =) -YG
  24. Speaking of restaurants, has anyone been to Cafe Hibiscus??? Tried going back in December but it was closed for the evening (on a Fri. nite too!)....is it still around? thanks in advance! -YG
