Strangely enough, as many times as I have been to DC I haven't met any CPers (I'm horrible with meetups).....though scratchapella (sp?) did spot me out @ Decadance, yet I musta been too intimidating to approach..... With the semester ending in a few weeks and not having been up to DC since Sasha in Dec. as well as Velvet Nation the week after - I am planning a DC invasion......I am dire need for some real club culture and music! I love my weekends in DC... Thurs - Sasha, JvM, & Lee Burridge --> awesome awesome nite(wish I could have met some of you that nite @ the meetup but I was taking care of my rolly polly friends) Fri - back in Richmond with a case of insomnia (I didn't partake in any substances & couldn't sleep where my friends did and slept like babies!) ....got drunk & was finally able to sleep Sat - back to DC for Velvet Nation w/David Knapp --> this was also a fun, crazy time ....but here's my question: where the lipstick lesbians/bi's at?? Hit up an afterparty in Silver Springs which took us 2 hrs to find (can we say tweaked out?!). It was very strange....needless to say we didn't stay long...then hit up another one right outside Georgetown which was a blast. Very festive.....and they were moving it to another house when we were leaving @ 1pm. Whew - hardcore partiers! NYE - terrorizing Richmond. Happy New Year my dear clubbers/partiers. -YG

Decadance was like WOW & whoah. We all had such an incredible time there ....definitely ranks as one of the best parties I've been to......yay Catastrophic!!! I hope they start throwing parties again!!! Anyways, I really wish I knew all of you CP ppl were going to be there! I would have loved to have met some of yous! And yes, Scratchapella - I was the asian girl freakin out right in from of Kevin Saunderson during his set! Should have said hi girl! Great venue & sound, very diverse mix of ppl, very few crackheads, wasn't too overcrowded, $5 red bull & vodkas, & an awesome vibe ......I loved how almost everybody in the place was so into the music......what more could one ask for in a party?!?!?! ....oh and the bathrooms were sooooooooo clean! big plus. Anyways, my fave sets of the nite were: -Julius Papp : only caught the last 30min of his set but I really liked his sound.....deeeeeeep, fun, and funky. -Taj : I really liked his progressive sound....it had been a while since a I heard a good progressive set and he really got me revved up for the rest of the evening -Craze : now I know why he was the 3 time dmc champ! that was some fun, smooth hip hop and great dnb!!!! the scratching was great......I'm not a big fan of hip hop and am very picky about my dnb but damn he was hot! -Kevin SAunderson : by far my fave set of the nite.....you had to be there....I was the short-haired asian girl jumping up and down screaming dancing with joy.....I really loved his sound....he was so flawless and on key!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Derrick May : no wonder he is such a legend!!!! great set too! I am still so completely sore and worn out from the weekend....but I agree thank gawd for the music!!!!! keep on dancing and smiling...... -YG

I personally think the line-up for DECADANCE is amazing! It's not just techno & dnb..... you do have the techno masters Derrick May & Kevin SAunderson, but there's also Taj who spins progressive house to trance, JOrge ranging from tribal to progressive to breaks, Craze...the 3 time dmc champ...his scratching and dnb skills are tight....and the HOUSE line-up! WOW~!!!!!! Best I've seen around in DC/VA/MD area ever ...we've got Julius Papp, DAvid Alvarado, and the one and only Roy Davis JR....amazing house producer & dj - his music will make you feel good all over!!!!! very smooth, funky, & soulful And Pete "the Shaker" is awesome as well....got to catch him years ago @ Deep and he had the whole place dancing.... I give this line-up 4 thumbs up! Hopefully I'll be able to make the 3 hr drive up there and back! Ugh, my parents have suddenly decided to come visit me Sunday afternoon....... Has anyone else seen the line-up for DECADANCE!??????! roy davis jr, julius papp, craze, kevin saunderson, derrick may, pete "the shaker", and the list goes on and on Thrown by catastrophic crew and others......always had a good time @ their events...... But was just wondering if anyone knew anything about the venue, reputation of it, location.....etc etc...... Looks like a phat party nonetheless!! -YG

I would definitely be going to this party if I wasn't 3 hrs away and didn't have so much school work to do.....my friend's and I have been yearning for another party @ the 930 club since we saw Deep Dish & Morel there.... I love the 930.....I personally think it's a great, cozy, intimate venue. Yes, the soundsystem wasn't that great that nite for DD but maybe they'll be bringing more sound in for this Sat. nite??? I especially loved it bc the ppl that were there were there for DD and to dance the nite away......it wass awesome watching from the 2nd level EVERYONE happily grooving away to the music. I'd recommend getting there before midnite to check out the place and get a feel for it before everyone piles in.....plus this isn't a "typical club" meaning that the true fans typically go there for whatever show or party is going on....... Dammit I'm so jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun everyone and please post reviews for this Hampton girl!!!!!!! -YG
