  6. Hola! I’m Weyes’s friend Mick. Just thought I’d chime in here, give my review and say that even though I did lose my phone, I had a GREAT time at Monster Massive. The party itself actually renewed a bit of my faith in parties like that. Things seemed to be going pretty well – no noticeable problems, other than the initial “wheres the guest list” issue. I’m actually surprised there aren’t parties there more often than just the twice a year. A HUGE part of my “fun-credit” goes to missy Weyes herself. Shes SUPER fun to par-tay with. The set up of the party was great. I liked the fact that the areas were all so well spaced out. When the rooms get to close to one another, you get all sorts of sounds all bleeding together. And for one who appreciates trance such as myself, it sucks when theres a break in the music and instead of trancing out to some nice soft tones, all you hear is the hardcore area next door. Know what I mean? The main area was awesome. It reminded me of all the pictures you see of the HUGE, heavily attended festivals that happen over in UK. The visuals and lights were great, and the sound was just perfect. Not to loud, not to quiet. One thing I’m not used to when it comes to raves, are full bars everywhere. I actually really like this aspect. Not everyone does E at raves. Some go sober, and some, like me – prefer to drink my redbull vodkas all night long. Which I did… had a blast, and can probably blame the loss of my phone on. HAHAHA! My favorite dj set for the night was Matt Hardwick from Gatecrasher UK. He spun early (7:15), a lot of people probably didn’t even hear him, but he was sooooooo good. I hope he comes back soon. Irene was fun. Shes always so spunky behind the decks – throwing all sorts of free crap out to the crowd and such. She was more towards the harder trance side of things, rather than her usual “Global House Diva” self. Maybe that was because the room she was in was geared more towards trance. Either way, she was fun. I’ve never had so many people come up to me at a rave. Well, now I know how to fix that. Wear an Angles hat to the party on the night of a big playoff game. I got asked so many times if I knew the score – usually leading into some sort of fun small conversation with complete strangers. Everyone was so nice. Even the Giants fans I ran into. As Weyes said, somewhere in the middle of Judge Jules set, I discovered I was missing my phone. Because of that, and the number of drinks I had had by that point, I cant really say much about Judge Jules set. The part I did hear, I liked. I guess its kinda rude, since if it weren’t for him, we wouldn’t of even had been there. We did get to meet him back stage and personally thank him. So that was cool. What wasn’t cool was how at some late point in the evening, they stopped letting people go back down to the main dance area. What if you left stuff down there, or friends… etc? They should have given some sort of notice. When I told the security guard that I needed to go downstairs to search for my lost phone once the lights were on, I was told no, and given a phone number to call on Monday to see if anyone turned it in. Of course no one did. I’m just glad I opted for the insurance on that puppy. All in all, I’d attended one of these parties again, and I’d even pay admission – if the correct dj line up was there. It was a lot of fun. HUGS to Weyes!
  7. Just peaking my head in here… (waves to weyes) If you’re visiting LA, you should definitely try and hit up Spundae @ Circus on Saturday night. It’s LA’s premier spot right now. Yeah, it’s only open till 4am, but hey… if you’re up for more afterward, you can always head over to one of those previously mentioned clubs. You’ll find the crowds at each club VERY different. Spundae is more often packed with people there to see a particular dj. Where as the afterhours are many times seemingly full of people who are there to be seen… not really caring what dj is spinning. Your in LA… you can adjust. Adam Freeland and Seb Fontaine are at Spundae this Saturday. That should be a fun night. Busy one too. You’ll need presales. 8. Hola Everyone! I’ve heard there’s a “fan website” for Danny Tenaglia. Is this true? And I don’t mean http://www.dtenaglia.com. If someone knows the addy… please email it to me. I’d really appreciate it. Respect! Mick TranceKyd@yahoo.com Orange County, CA
  9. From everything I've read... there are no presales. Early arrival is obviously suggested.
  10. Saturday, February 15, 1997 A ‘pure’ capsule. At a 200-person rave called “Be My Naughty Valentine”, in a downtown L.A. warehouse. I remember leaving the rave at 6am, and saying to my friends “That was fun! I could really get into this stuff”. LOL Completely changed my life… for the better.
  11. May 8, 1999 - GateCrasher, Sheffield UK Orange Euro's + Sasha + GateCrasher = OMG!
  12. DT is confirmed for club C2K at the Venetian in Vegas on 8/31. The rumor that the club is closed is just that. The following night, Junior is spinning there. And the following night, GateCrasher and John '00' Fleming will be there. Quite the holiday weekend in Vegas.

  18. My friends and I went to Spundae on Saturday. The club hasn't lost anything with Giant being gone from it. If anything, its a bit better with Spundae in there. We got there at 10:45 and there was NO line. So we were thinking the place might be dead... but nope, it was nice and busy inside. I don't know what they've done to get rid of the horrible lines that used to happen when Giant was there... but Bravo! They've also got a cool laser system in the main room now. And the bar area behind the dj has been redone with a nice sitting area. It was just as fun as always. In fact, I have yet to go there and have a bad time. Boy George was fun to watch. Wasn't too bad dj'ing either. Fun stuff if you're in a good mood. Mistress Barbara... OOOOF! Three words... KICKED MY ASS! And Grant Plant closed the night with a REALLY cool progressive house/trance set that had the 5 AM still full house, all screaming and throwing their hands in the air. The last song was Wizards of the Sonic. Ker-bluh-bluh-bluh! One of my faves. Good vibes all around. We all had a blast! How was the Giant monthly grand opening?
  19. Sprite. But if i had to choose Coke or Pepsi. I'd choose Pepsi. ------------------ "Bouncy trance, bouncy trance!"
  20. A few weeks after he spun at LimeLight in NYC (which I know lots of people from here REALLY enjoyed) Tiesto visited LA at a one-off at the Mayan Theater. From everything I read about the LimeLight event, the LA one went off just as well. Anyway, here in LA, he made a recording that night and its now available for cd purchase on www.dancegroove.com. Its called “Dj Tiesto presents Magik 7, Live in Los Angeles”. Just wanted to share. I can’t wait till mine gets here! That was such a fun night! ------------------ "Bouncy trance, bouncy trance!"
  21. Admission is 46 pounds per ticket. Capacity is 50,000 2,300,000 pounds. minus comps. ------------------ "Bouncy trance, bouncy trance!"

NOOO way. your reviews make me kick my self in the ass that i didnt take the chance and fly out. Gatecrasher @ the Republic in Shefield was my #1 clubbing experience of my life.. im not missing it next month. Guest dj pending. Love you all, from WET So-cali! HUG! Mick ------------------ "Hes inside, laying down by the teepees"
  24. Hi Everyone! I'm back home in So-Cal now, and just wanted to say thanks to everyone that I met and hung out with from the board. Both at the dinner on Friday the 2nd, and then Friday the 9th at Twilo. I had a ton of fun! PVD slapped me in the face, kicked my butt, and called me bitch. Then on top of that, the sound system at Twilo topped it off. I was a VERY happy camper. It was too crowded though. Luckily the sound and energy that PVD was putting out, along with hanging out with some cool people from the board... took me above the hassle of it being so crowded. I have to say though, you know SOMEONE in the fire department is getting paid off for the fire marshalls not to be there closing the thing down because of illegal overcrowding. When you guys are ever out here, and visit Giant, you wont run into any such thing. Special thanks to Ooana, Amber, and Casey! I look forward to my next trip out. Until then, take care you guys. Peace and Love, Mick TranceKyd@yahoo.com
  25. hey guys! i'll be there, along with my fellow so-cal pal ervin. it was cool meeting so many of you at the dinner on friday. thanks SO much for the warm welcome, and showing us that not all new yorkers are meanies. we're really enjoying your town. i'd never wanna live here, but you guys sure know how to party. ta-hehe see you there! Mick
