  1. Can someone please identify the song in this video. Thank you! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJgTxNyaF34
  2. Can someone please tell me the artist, title and remix (if there is one) for the song in the background of this video taken at the WMC. Thanks!
  3. Please... Dreemz is just another of the myriad lounges/clubs in Old City that act pretentious, overcharge for drinks, and offer almost no room to move around. I give the place 6 months to a year before the doors close.
  4. Yea, lots of ass looking for lots of dough.
  5. I'm back and forth between Philly and school in Virginia, but last I heard DJ Richie Rich does Club Q102 on Saturday nights. It sucks in my opinion (all Top 40 remixes), and used to be a lot better 2-3 years ago. I think 97.5 has a similar club music night that just recently started, but I have sorta given up on the radio and just play my own stuff.
  6. Shampoo and Egypt had "creative" differences with Chuck about what music to play. The owners of those two clubs wanted to add more hip-hop and top 40 to the playlists. Since Chuck spins progressive and hard house, he refused and left. Last I heard, he spun somewhere in Northeast philly, but I'm not sure if it was a one night thing or if that is his residence now. If you like Chuck Addis, you would like Robbie Tronco. He still spins at Flow and Chrome, but he left Saturday nights at Shampoo for the same reason that Chuck left.
  7. Here's a brief rundown of Philly clubs... Shampoo: used to have good Thursday nights with deep house - similar to Vinyl on Fridays. Used to have good Saturday nights with Robbie Tronco spinning hard and progressive house. Now the only night that is decent is Sunday night w/ Chuck Addis, but that is a 17 and over night - so you get the kiddies up in the cut. Egypt: complete waste of time now... going real commercial. I can see them playing Top 40 in the near future. Chrome: the closest thing you are going to get to a NYC club in Philly. One of my favorites, and Robbie Tronco (philly's best DJ IMO) spins on Friday nights. One problem... not that many people go there. Maui: its closed now... good - it sucked Flow: Saturday night has Robbie Tronco spinning - so its a good time if nothing else is going on - not the best venue, but alright. Envy: I never liked Envy... way too small Motion: good place to go if you are into the rave scene. I'm not, so I don't go, but I can respect the talent they reel in. Paul Van Dyk has been there a couple of times. Evolution2: go only when they bring in outside talent, otherwise it isn't really worth it except for the fact that they are open later than 2:00am. Polyesters: 70s & 80s music... tends to attract older crowd (late 20s and 30s) - easy place to pick someone up, but it's definitely not a "hardcore" club - just go there to change it up once in awhile The Five Spot: old city club near Envy, seems to attract a very multicultural crowd (to be politically correct) - music varies, but mainly hip-hop. Adrenaline: if you are white don't go there... trust me - it's also been the site of several shootings 8th floor, Transit, Bash, Tribecca: never been to these places, but I've heard good and bad things about each I've left several out, but that should give you a good idea. The philly scene is more laid back than the NYC scene... people are less educated about the music (which is a shame), but you can still have a good time if you go out with friends.
  8. I just got back from Brussels. The place is dead. Things close around 1:30 - 2:00am every night.
  9. I've actually seen alot of people in the Philly/NYC area wearing some of the classier jeans (Diesel & Mavi) a lot lately. Then again, some places have strict dress codes that don't allow jeans, so I don't take any chances.
  10. I'd venture to guess that most people wouldn't think I knew how to dress on a day-to-day basis (not that bad, but usually just jeans/athletic pants and a t-shirt), but when I break out the club clothes I'm all business. Then again, the club clothes only come out when I actually go clubbing. I find it funny when these guys that workout once a year are sporting the tight club clothes around campus. If you don't look big in a big shirt... well... damnit... you AREN'T big.
  11. How'd I know magilicuti would respond to this one. But, as another elitefitness.com member, I'd say I'm pretty close to ending my bulking cycle and getting ready to cut from 10% BF to 6-7% BF so the abs are chiseled for summer. Jeez... I've been spending too much time on the bodybuilding forums after reading what I just wrote.
  12. I like to wear sweatshirts, sweatpants, and wifebeaters a lot. Does that count?
  13. I'll be in Frankfurt in about a week. What type of music and people at U60311?
  14. Don't know about shopping (I just go to King of Prussia - everything is there) or hair salons (I'm a guy - so anywhere is fine). As far as clubs, the ones nifer listed are good. I'm not a big fan of Silk City, but Fluid is good. I'd also check out Bash and Shampoo (on a Saturday night with Robbie Tronco).
  15. No man... keep your scars. They make for good stories. I have a very small crescent moon scar next to my right eye. A small scar on my chin, a small scar on the top of my head and one on my forehead (both covered by my hair), one on my wrist, and a few others that aren't so noticeable. Most are from martial arts, and they don't look grotesque so I keep them - they build character and remind me that I'm neither perfect nor invulnerable. Personally, I think plastic surgery is an answer that people turn to who have fundamental self-esteem problems. Love thyself, and others will love you too. Then again, sometimes you're just born hot as shit like me... just kidding, just kidding.
  16. Friday... hmm... I guess Silk City is ok, but that place is small. I'd probably hit up some of the bars/lounges instead, and save clubbing for Saturday. Bash is good though. NEVER go to Egypt on a Saturday... went there once and it was 40 year old women dancing to Chuck Addis' shitty music. Actually, Chuck is a good guy, he is as pissed off as I am that he has to cater to the masses. I heard Addis and Tronco tag-teamin' at Shampoo a few months ago when Louie DeVito was there... they made DeVito look like the bullshit DJ he is.
  17. Try BioSilk Hard Rock Gelee by Farouk... it is the only thing I can use to get my spikes to stay in place, and it easily washes out of your hair. I ordered 4 16 ounce vats of the stuff to last me for like a year and a half. Great stuff.
  18. I'm pretty sure girls like the "I just rolled out of bed" look... it shows confidence that you can walk around like that - and girls like confidence:shaky: Actually... I go for the Kenneth Cole, DKNY look when I'm at clubs. Otherwise, it's jeans and a t-shirt or sweater (depending on the weather).
  19. Hot artist... shitty song. I'm over here in Copenhagen for the next 4 months, and I swear the only thing you ever here anywhere is "Can't Get You Out Of My Head".
  20. Damn... you went far enough away from Philly for college! Well... I can't really complain, I'm in Copenhagen, Denmark for the semester. Funny scene they have here, but that's for another post. If you want some more info. on the philly scene go to http://www.*****.com - lots of good people over there. I think Philly is haunted by the fact that it is so close to other major cities (New York City and Washington, DC). Most people will just roll up to NYC for the night for an event, so there is really no need to duplicate the event in Philly. Philly's biggest problem is the enforced-2AM closing times, that has been killing the Philly nightlife scene for years. Someone go knock on Mayor Street's door and get that changed.
  21. Well... no... not really. It's more about how attractive you are in figure and face. You can have your own style and still look unattractive. However, girls (and guys I guess) that workout or are naturally beautiful/handsome can make even fashion faux paus look good.
  22. If you are going somewhere like Soundfactory, Exit, etc. where you are going to be dancing a lot, I'd just wear some faux leather pants. They are cheaper, tend to be easier to clean, and often very durable. I can never understand how people spend 100s of dollars on club clothes that tend to get worn out so quickly from sweating/dancing in them all night long. Use that money to buy clothes that would be more appropriate for a lounge/bar.
