  1. So just was browsing www.carlcox.com and yup it says it. Webster Hall..>FRIDAY October 17, 2008. Carl Cox (Opening Set by Tatoo Detectives) Its a 19+ event. I really don't know what to fucking expect. Yeah I do...alot of under 21's....alot of european tourists..... etc..etc.. Coxy is all time fave.....i might still make it down. any thoughts? c'mon people trying to get a discussion going again
  2. PLEASE SEE THE CHART ATTACHEMENT OR THIS ARTICLE WILL NOT MAKE SENSE www.matsuifan.com or www.bronxfan.com Prior to this season I posted this acticle on the above mentioned yankee blog. Could Cano go onto becomming the greatest yankee second basemen of all time? Tony Lazzeri, Joe Gordon, Bobby Richardson, Horace Clark, Willie Randolph, and Robinson Cano. What do these players all have in common? They have all played second base for The New York Yankees. Certainly many of those names may not ring a bell. For me I'm really only familiar with Cano and Randolph. Robinson Cano has put up some eye opening numbers in each of his first three years in the Majors. If he continues this trend...could he go onto becoming the greatest yankee second basemen of all time? Lets take a look at each of these guys best year's as a yankee. (MIND YOU..with the exception of Robinson Cano, I have taken only those Yankee Second Basemen with at least 6 years of playing second base for the Yankees. PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHEMENT Now defensively, they didn't start handing out Golden Glove Awards til 1957 (So we don't know what Gordon and Lazzeri may have won) Bobby Richardson is the only other one in group winning 5 Gold Gloves..CONSECUTIVELY!! Offensively I have to say that Cano is right on pace to put up some all time Yankee #'s at the position. Barring any trade. You will remember that Alfonso Soriano was once heralded the same way. Defensively Cano has worked very hard. His range has improved each year and his arm strength has always been strong What do you think?
  3. What do you think of his new book? Personally I'm glad he wrote the book. I don't care what his reasons were (most likely financial), but I'm glad the game's cleaning up. You gotta see the funny pic at of canseco at www.matsuifan.com or www.bronxfan.com Old Curry Bastard
  4. Hey all. got some friends comming into town Saturday Feb 17. Were avoiding the BIG BIG Clubs (crobar/pacha) ANyone recommend a good lounge/club that spins house. NO HIP HOP. 5. Okay heres my take on Yankee Fans.... ALOT... AND I MEAN ALOT... of these so called YANKEE fans do not even watch regular season games. They instead wait for the PLAYOFFS TO START,, and then start wearing there pinstripes..... THEY ONLY ROOT FOR THE YANKEES cause they make playoff's. THOSE ARE NOT REAL FANS!!!! And I am in no way saying that these are the MAJORITY, but still I see it alot. OPEN YOUR EYES.... THERE ARE MANY FAKE YANKEE FANS THERE ARE ONLY REAL METS FANS... METS FANS ARE TRUE.. to the BONE LETS FUCKING GO METS...... were taking the series again from the yanks in EARLY July
  6. WMC WEEK ....My Review -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Miami weekend by "tymathis" Well after not having attended the WMC for that past three years, I finally made my return. And I had a blast. I got into town Thursday morning...started drinking at Karbokane's pad w/ Phily Matt and my girl, and his roomate Sylvan. We all went to the Wet Grooves party. Oh and by the way, i've done blow for over 4-5 years, and what I thought was blow really wasn't...cause once you get to miami, you finally get to try the PURE......and its out of the world... ENOUGH..... with that though. Wet Grooves was kind sucky cause it rained the whole time, like literally zero sunlight the entire time. But still they were giving out free energy drinks the entire day, and Bad Boy Bill, DJ Dan, and Donald Glaude held it down Thursday night I went to Space and rolled my nuts off for the first time in over 2 years or so. Steven Lawler was destroying the place. Honestly I have not heard any of his sets since back when he use to do Exit. And I really didn't care for him then....but the man brought some serious rawkus at SPACE Guess how much a bottle of water is at SPACE......$7 dollars...... ya know $10 a bottle is right around the corner Friday---------NIKKI BEACH TIME...........WHO-HOO!!! Karbokane's neighbor Manny had rented a bed area right in the middle of Nikki Beach. Man did Manny ever show me and my friends love...bottles of kettle and johnny black were going around with fury. I got so drunk........started drinking mojito pitchers... I was feeling good. BUT THE MUSIC SUCKED...i don't even know who was spinning. The sound was real low, the speakers kept going out. My friend told me at night time, Nikki Beach was going nuts though, this Black guy and this white guy were tag teaming some heavy shit. My friend was like, it felt like i was at a rave with the way the two of them were dropping bombs. Friday night I ended up at Nocturnal.......its right next to space. Its a beautiful designed place I must say. Again my boy Dave Rave's boy from D.C. had a table and was ordering ridiculous bottles of liquor.........DRUNK as a SKUNK.....and was defintely ridin that train.... SATURDAY--------ULTRA.........I get their and just start walking around. I end up at the House Tent and guess whose spinnin....CHOO CHOOO..fuck yeah HARRY ROMERO....man I'm getting chills just thinking about this track he dropped. It had this heavy saxaphone hook and it just kept comming and comming, and the tent was so live...FUCKING REAL HOUSE MUSIC BABY... and when he drop the bass on that sax song I almost started crying looking at all the peeps around me smiling and jumping in unison... and that was only like 3pm I think. After that me and my girl started watching this guy at one of the Break Beat Tents. This long haired hippie looking dude, whose name was "Bass Nectar" he goes by another name too. But this guy was dropping some nasty breaks... I MEAN RIDICULOUSLY HARD BASS LINES. He ended his set and was got on the mic and was just smiling and said, "hey Ultra I'm bass Nectar and this was ALOT OF FUN!!!" you could see how happy he was. After that we went to the main stage and heard Infected Mushroom..... The set was nuthing short of spectacular, that parts I saw. Then we went to the drum and bass tent and heard SHY FX kill it. It was so fun to go nuts to the crazy bass lines, RONI SIZE followed it up...what a legend.....what a legend.....thas all I gotta say. Saw alittle of Baby Anne too, homegirls SHORT = ) Saw the beginning of Eric Morillo's set, it was coo. He started with that in the beginning THEIR WAS JACK track....he also did a remix of Eddie Murphy's my girl wants to party all the time CARL COX spun from 7-10 pm. I kept checking in on him, great energy in his tent. He was dropping a HARD TECHNO TRACK, after HARD TECHNO TRACK it was live. I also stopped in on Sander Kleinberg. He had this hot track that would say all these city names like this "This is NOT New York"...."This is not BERLIN" ...."This is NOT Budapest"...and it kept going naming all these cities, and at the end when he dropped it goes "THIS IS MIAMI!!!!!!" WHOO HOO Caught the last part of VAN DYKE's set.... I love just looking at all my friends while "TIME OF OUR LIVES" is playing...best song to end it with Didn't make it to any after hours...........AND THATS MY STORY "TY MATHIS"

  8. Would you say, it was just a totally different style then his now? or just more in tune with that time period?
  9. Well then the next step for him is to do a Collaboration with DJ Skribble
  10. So that maybe my clubplanet ranking can one day be Old Skool like you. My 3 extra years on this board still finds me way lagging behind you =m==D ==m=D ===mD ~~~~
  11. I doubt Ethan Hawke is gay. I've actually checked out that lounge next door also, while accompanying friends who were gay/lesbian. Its not that uncommon for straight peeps to visit a gay club/lounge
  12. DO IT AGAIN.........DO IT AGAIN........... classic track
  13. Long Island City has a bunch of Gentlemen Clubs, alittle cheaper than scores and hustler
  14. So me and my girlfriend happen to step into Hiro last night, and for a WEDNESDAY night it was unbelievable. HOT ass dancers (men and women) Girls swinging from the ceilings on satin sheets. Anyone know what the occasion was for this party or who threw it?
  15. Definetely had tons of fun. Though not sure I agree with your statement about "talking on the mic these days after learning from Danny T" I love Carl and Danny, but I would say that each owns their mic talking rights, they've both been doing it for awhile.
  16. This was easily one of the hardest sets I ever seen Carl Spin, I loved every minute. HOW ABOUT THAT ONE TRACK he played with the beat from "Enter Sandman" by Mettalica, that shit was tight. And I like being able to smoke wherever I want!! And russian guys need to start wearing deodorant!!!!!
  17. I had a blast on SATURDAY NIGHT. Carl was playing some really hard shit, its hands down the hardest set I've ever heard him spin (not necessarily the greatest set...I loved all the tracks.... the mixing was ok. He played this one track that was had the beat to "Enter Sandman" by Metallica shit was hot. And P.DIDDY even made a cameo appearance on stage. He even played one record, I think...... Good time all in all
  18. My boy dave m. has done alot of promotion work for buzz @ nation. Its coo, its got that nice warehouse vibe. Patio rocks during the summer. But my tastes have gotten alittle more posh over the years, so I prefer Fur.
  19. Fuck yeah local 13 brings back some memories. Yo in case any of you don't know what a real EAST COAST RAVE was, back in May of 2000, I went to my SICKEST PARTY EVER. Nothing has quite lived up to the AMAZING TALENT I SAW . THIS WAS HELD in at the SOUTH JERSEY EXPO CENTER> HONESTLY -read this fucking lineup, then read it again and TRULY let that shit sink in. From watching q-BERT go sick with his hands, to getting my true house on with DJ DAN..... fucking eh, i could talk about so many more of these GUYS. 20. Okay, maybe I just have never gotten a table in a big NYC club. But having recently went in on a table at FUR in D.C. it was still somewhat reasonable. But I inquired about getting a table at CROBAR for CARL Cox's saturday performance. The woman (who was very nice and pleasant, and did return my message) told me the prices. Like getting a table for ten people, would be $150 a person. SO total $1500. AND THAT DOSEN'T EVEN INCLUDE ANY BOTTLES OF LIQUOR, which start at $300. And hey I'm not bitching, I know tables are suppose to be pricy. but jeezus I had no idea. When I visited a friend in D.C. recently he got us a table at CLUB Fur and it was reasonable and they gave us two bottles of liquor. BUT this is NYC.......and it is far superior to D.C.. just wish getting a table at crobar was alittle more reasonable. AND YES i know peeps with real money will end up buying all the TABLEs and good for them...... I'm just bitching, sorry for this post
  21. I was just visiting CARL Cox's website. www.carlcox.com . Once you click your BANDWIDTH. CLICK GALLERY and then theirs more pictures from LOVE PARADE..(PARTY AND AFTER PARTY)........ enjoy
  22. ( THE FOLLOWING WAS POSTED FROM http://www.internetdj.com/article.php?storyid=680) Carl Cox Announces New Artist Album; Launches Bus Tour Monday, September 26 2005 Written by Michael Bordash (risda ) Send to Friend Print Legendary DJ/producer Carl Cox is traversing North America from San Diego to New York, full details including some notes on his third artist album are here. Carl's Fall 2005 North Americam bus tour begin in San Diego on September 22 and is currently traversing American urban centers and festivals, including the Love Parade this past weekend in San Francisco and both Crobars in New York and Miami. The Southern Comfort “Road to Voodoo†tour will also have breakbeat mavens Evil Nine playing with Carl on the first leg until Vancouver, where they hand the bus seats over to Loco Dice. Loco takes the wheel through Philly, switching over to Mark Lewis for the remainder of the tour with special guest, Victor Calderone, performing in New York. Carl Cox’s unwavering popularity around the world has been proven time and time again by the crowds that flock to hear the master work the tables as only he can. When music magazines print their end of year polls, it's Carl Cox who tops them and he has the stature to back it up. He brings a raw energy that carries into all of his performances and productions, and the love he has for a good tune is never lost on his audience. From his enthusiastic bob of the head to the thrust of one finger shot high in the air at the moment a track drops it’s bass line, to the sweat pouring down his famously bald head, this man loves nothing more than to perform for those that matter, the people who come to see him. Says Carl of this third artist album "Second Sign" dropping in 2006, "I’ve been working with Roni Size, Josh Wink, Saffron from Republica and Onallee of Reprazents. There’s drum & bass, punk, house; it’s got a real festival sound to it. Of all my three albums, this is the one I’m most happy with.
