  1. It'll be a big one. Word is that there will be no comps or list (apart from the free tickets that you can win at CoolJunkie) so Crobar's advice is to grab tickets in advance to avoid door drama. See you there...
  2. Cmon it's a CoolJunkie shindig - of course there's an open Bar - 9.30-11 These guys deserve your support, and Oscar's going to have hard acts to follow
  3. To celebrate the launch of our new text messaging service, we have a contest to win passes for Sasha at CoolJunkie We'll draw the winners on Friday. Good luck!
  4. And a nice one it is too. Sallen bigs up the Superchumbo!
  5. Friday August 16th @ Club Spin Oscar G + Michael Louis v Gabor v Johnny Ramirez Doors open 9.30pm. This is a great chance to hear some excellent new DJ's as well as one of Miami's finest, and show some support for the local scene! Alongside the finalists (Michael Louis, Gabor, Johnny Ramirez) Oscar G will be spinning, and we also have amazing lasers and visuals from Laser Billboard Corporation. We really hope you'll all join us for a huge night. You can sign up at CoolJunkie to receive the password for free entry, and there'll also be an open bar till 11pm. Doors open at 9.30pm to allow everyone to get in before the first DJ starts at 10pm. See you there... The Junkies
  6. Kurtis Patrick kicks serious ass (as does Ralph Lawson - ever since BTB's Cut The Crap). He won our 2001 DJ Spin Off and has rocked in his 2 last Miami appearances. Like James says, it's tech-house not techno. Too many genres these days!

    Ariel Baund

Ariel's on tour in Europe at the moment
  8. Yeah I gotta give the credit to Rob Tufts for that one - he always tells it like it is. In our hearts you'll always be the guy who suggested the DeckJunkie link Saleen. God bless you
  9. For da CoolJunkies out there... check the links section of johndigweed.com
  10. The closest Heat yet. All 3 DJ's were impeccable. Anthony Feliciano played a storming set of progressive house. Then came Serge with a tribal set which had the dancefloor jumping. Finally Gabor played a set which journeyed smoothly from deep tribal tunes into some melodic prog house. The last 3 nights have proved that the level of talent in Miami is amazing, it's just that new DJ's are very rarely given a chance to shine. We're glad the heats were so close, but it's a bitch to judge
  11. Anthony Feliciano, DJ Serge, and Gabor Kanasz battle it out tonight for the final slot in the Spin Off. See you there... The Junkies
  12. Interesting Idea - 'Clash Of The Titans'
  13. We've implemented a strictly 'No Love Boat' policy within the heats now. However I can make no guarantees about other favorite TV themes.
  14. WINNER: Johnny Ramirez This was pretty much unanimous. Nice tunes smoothly mixed, and a bit of crowd lifting which was cool. Thanks also to Jae Vynel and Candyman.
  15. Nice to see Kurtis gettin some love from Miami He deserves it!
  16. Thanks for all the comments guys, and thanks for coming down lastnight. Definitely some surprises in there - the crowd seemed to direct the style in a way, and it was interesting to see the difference when switching from CD to live mixes. So far so good - we'll probably announce the winner of lastnight's heat later today. Tonight's Contestants Are: 10.30 - 12 Michael Louis (Melodic Prog House & Breaks) 12 - 1.30 Joseph Anthony (Progressive House / Breaks) 1.30 - 3 Kiavi (House / Tribal) Same time / Same place... See you there
  17. Just got back from the warm-ups, and the DJ's are sounding very nice. Living Room has also refined their system and it sounds big. Should be fun, hope you can all make it...
  18. The first 3 DJ's will battle it out at Living Room South Beach tonight, followed by a further 6 across Wednesday and Thursday. Entrance is free to all heats, and our sponosrs will be providing giveaways and drink specials. We hope you can make it out to support our local talent! See you there, The Junkies
  19. Sean spins the CoolJunkie show today at 6, also featuring an interview with Edgar V. Tune into www.thewomb.com
  20. Yep that's the list, and we've already been severely flamed from a few entrants who thought we didn't do them justice. We were hoping to get a slightly more varied range of styles, and it would have been nice to see a trance or breaks DJ in the finals, but it would also have been unfair to include anyone simply because they played those styles. These were the 9 best mixes that we received. We did listen to every single CD, and anyone who wants a critique of their mix can e-mail us, but we won't post any comments on message boards about individual entries. Thanks to everyone who entered, and we'll see you at the heats next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Hopefully no-one will arrive with an Uzi
  21. It was very nice. Frank played a great set and some very nice tracks. Tantra was a little quiet but it was a treat for those who came!
  22. Mr Fernandez will be giving the crowds mulitple musical orgasms from 10-2, and maybe a little later if they're still begging for more Don't miss it! Tantra will be great tonight... Nick Junkie
  23. Just to answer the collective e-mails and phone calls all at once... The finalists will be announced on Saturday morning (27th) at CoolJunkie.com
  24. nice sets today... anyone who missed Kurtis last time he was here missed a treat. Look out for him again in S Florida soon. The petition starts here
  25. Sorry we couldn't make it Mimi - we were having trouble handling sunlight yesterday
