  1. he also batted in a great lineup with protection....In addition to those great numbers you listed Sori also struck out well over a hundred times and walked like twice. He ended more innings then I can remember. as a yankee fan who had bleacher creature seats for years I can say that i'm glad he's gone. I think the pressure in NY got to him and he didn't change his approach at the plate. The team and educated fans would have been happier with 25 homers and an 80 point improvement in his OBP. i think moving him to center is a great idea. personally, if boone hadn't hurt himself I had hoped the Yankees would have done that, DH'd Bernie, and gotten a new 2nd baseman. Sori was OK at 2nd but only just.
  2. yeah too bad if you caught a bad set...but i'd also say that if you think a dj bringing his / her hands together means they are clapping for themselves then maybe you should hit up a few more sets by various artists before passing judgement. its hard to say if you like electronic music at all or this was just your first experience and a bad one. PVD has put out some incredible sets - particularly in terms of matching the energy / flow / mood of the crowd so seems like it was either an off crowd or an off night.
  3. of course i could be completely wrong lol jeter does have some alarmingly bad statistics defensively over the last couple of years. he's also played hurt for the majority of those years and he had very good defensive stats earlier in his career when he was healthy... fuck it move him to 2nd, bring in Chavez for third and put Arod at SS
  4. yeah those seattle teams were horrible weren't they and i'm not making any assumptions - bottom line is the play jeter made at home (which show defensive genius in positioning and knowing what's going on on the field) has never been done by anyone - ever. defense isn't just about how high you can jump and how hard you can throw. i didn't say anything about anyone's numbers in the post-season - didn't even mention offense. But making it out like Jeter's a bad shortstop defensively is retarded. Its not like it was in the 80's when Ozzie Smith was much better than the next guy...there are 4 or 5 excellent shortstops defensively in the AL. Putting Arod at short and Jeter at third doesn't make the yankees a lot better. and gold glove is an over-rated award. once you win it you are much more likely to win it on reputation then get dethroned. this is well know. AND i didn't say that Arod isn't better - just that its not like Arod is great and Jeter sucks - they are very close to being the same defensively. Putting Arod at third = less wear and tear on him = he can stay healthy. Much worse for the yankee's offense if he goes down then if Jeter goes down.
  5. sept 11 / economy since then a lot of people who had jobs / money don't and a lot of people who do have decided that going out isn't that important to them. as for the number of clubs, etc. etc. shit like that happens all the time. bunch of places open, the good one's stick and the other fail. competition is good so you shouldn't complain about it. I mean how many clubs failed for every twilo that makes it? The only reason you have good sound and great dj's coming in is that places have to compete with each other for your dollar.
  6. ah thank you! yeah he was really good but not better than MB - which is exactly what you want from an opener.
  7. yeah seriously STFU about hating the Yankees and how they are evil. The system is flawed and guess who's against changing it? THE PLAYERS!!! Get mad at the players in KC, MN, Montreal, wherever who treat your teams as a warm up for a big league market. They love that someone will pay them 10mil plus down the road. The other owners could vote the big market teams into caps, or whatever but the player block it every time. George is doing just what anyone would do in his position who has money and wants to win. More than i can say about the cubbies and a bunch of other teams that COULD spend more but decide to run home with the profits instead of putting the best product on the field.
  8. first off Arod and Jeter at short is basically a wash. Lets not forget that Jeter played through a serious shoulder injury and still played a good shortstop. Arod's range is not better especially going deep in the hole. They are very close defensively. Maybe you should think that the best thing for the team is putting A-rod at a position where he will see fewer balls and have less chance of being taken out by a runner while trying to turn two. Maybe the best thing for the Yanks is ensuring that Arod stays healthy...ever think of that? And Arod said he'd move to third so he's obviously willing to do it. Plus - you can't deny that Jeter is cluth in the post season...i don't think Arod makes the play at home to get Giambi out..NO ONE does but Jeter. So stop making it out like Arod is a huge improvement over him defensively cause he's not.
  9. hey had a great time - even converted a few tranceheads to techno for the night there were two opening dj's right? the first one was really boring, the next one was good and MB was GREAT! Love her - she never disappoints. Great seeing great seeing Gothzane, BigPoppa, Highmay, etc. etc. My legs are shot LOL
  10. yeah, its the yankees fault LOL. they're just playing by the rules of the system. why don't those rules get changed? cause the players love them. if they leveled the playing field where would the pddro's, manny's, arods, etc. go to play? look its the baseball version of the american dream...even if 95% of b-ball players never crack serious money they want to know that its there as a possibility. and btw - the yanks aren't gonna win or lose based on A-Rod. These are the things that will make / break their season: 1. Giambi's leg - if its bad that means Bernie won't be able to DH and that means one of them will have to sit. 2. Pitching - other than Mussina all good names but with question marks - Leiber (surgery), Contreras (inconsistent), Brown (health), Vasquez (can he pitch in NYC or is he a Weaver?). And NO left handed starters on a Yankees starting staff??? If that staff comes together doesn't matter if Arod is playing...if they don't well the Yanks won't win the whole thing that's for sure. I'm excited for the season but with what happened with Pettite - blah - not the same excitement for me anymore.
  11. i feel for you that you got screwed - but seriously how does that excuse misleading your patrons? so what's your point? i didn't cheat arc and take arc's money. I didn't lie and get free airfare. but wait - its cool for you to be dishonest and take mine? right so i guess it'd be cool for me to say tell you i'm gonna sell you $20 of weed, take your twenty and give you some oregano. cause you know, my guy who i gave 2k to screwed me so i'm just gonna pass it on...yep, bet you would be happy with that and wouldn't want to kick my ass
  12. i would have put a note on the door like any honest businessman would have done. what is it? they fuk u over so that makes it right to scam the next person down the line? what does playing the night before have to do with it? the venue is responsible to its patrons, not the dj. if Arc doesn't want to do business with them again that's their decision to make.
  13. what are you talking about? you make it sound like dropping is equivalent to playing russian roullette. i don't see that article saying "girl dies of overdoes" - try girl dies cause she fell and hit her head...head injuries are weird things and people die from swelling of the brain and things like that which result from head injuries. Of course its possible that what she got there wasn't actually e - but if that's the case then her being dumb enough to take it and whatever it was may have contributed. But E doesn't kill you anymore than drinking does - if you decide to get in a car when you're loaded is it the beer that killed you or your poor judgement in getting in the car? in fact, i've never heard anyone claim that taking e (one or two in a night) has ever killed anyone. Its always been a combination of people taking things OTHER than e, having a freak accident (like this girl) or being stupid and essentially dying from dehydration and overheating. If a guy has a cup of coffee and then lies out in the desert naked for a whole day and dies of dehydration and exposure i suppose you're gonna tell me it was the caffeine that did it, right? i never read anything that would suggest that if you sat in your apartment and dropped a pill twice a month that it would effect your life expectency at all. unlike say...smoking three packs a week, getting behind the wheel of car, believing everything the government tells you, or eating fast food every day for lunch. THEN you'd be playing with your life kid

    Q. for the men

guys can definitely be used - but two ways - used straight up for sex but you know that's what's going on (this is usually a good thing) - like gabo (a bad thing) lol seriously though, if you have feelings for someone and they tell you the same but are really just stringing you along for sex it sucks whether your a girl, gay, or whatever...hopefully the sex is good at least

    Guess Who's Tits!!!

6/10 - the body outlines helped BUT some of those pics are kinda old so its tough. Like Mariah's boobs are waaaaay bigger than that now.
  16. drinking enough liquids (including stuff with electrolytes) after drinking but before sobering up is the only way i know of preventing a hangover. or at least the headache part of it. If you've drunk a ton of sweet acidy drinks your stomach may be upset anyway. don't take tylenol - shown to be very bad for you liver after high alcohol intake
  17. exactly there are only a handful of music events that are industry only...you can go to pretty much everything (clubs, pool parties, etc.) without a badge.
  18. wow! i don't have any idea what his gf does look like but this chick is HOT
  19. me too, but i went at around 5pm? i think (little hazy on that) - no line at all. I also spent the last 2 hours plus in the VIP near the main stage and I have to say that it was nice having some space and room to dance. Not sure that's its worth the $165 over the $35 tickets i got though and since i didn't feel the need to drink much that part didn't make so much difference to me personally. I'd recommmend that if you aren't set on seeing the mainlines at the main stages (as in you are into stuff other than trance for instance) its probably not worth it. If you want to have space to dance for PVD, etc. though then maybe it would be... ...for me - traveling on the cheap - its too much dough for the benefit.
  20. yeah that was a PHENOMENAL night As for definitions..well...people argue a lot about them. Here's one set: http://www.eurodancehits.com/dict.html#THS for me a typical techno set (not tech-trance) is harder, doesn't have the "uplifting" quality of trance, is very energetic, is more "relentless" (whatever that means), and the DJ's tend to work alot quicker - that is playing shorter tracks (or just pieces of them) and typically less vocals as well. Also, IMO folks like Hawtin, Mills, etc. are more experimental in that they'll mix on the fly two / three tracks back and forth while never playing all of anyone of them. Last time Mills was here he must have switched records at nearly once a minute or two rate... but i'm a novice too so others will have other opinions.
  21. so that means no Miss B for you?
  22. I don't think it being crowded for MP is a big signal that techno is back. He's only just a techno dj - as lasix said the other day he spins like a trance dj interms of how he uses the decks, and he's spins some vocal spots and stuff that appeal to trance / tech trance folks. i remember seeing hawtin before packed houses at places like limelight and stuff too, and the Sven / Hawtin nights at Arc. But i'm not sure how packed those would be these days if they happened every month (which would be GREAT). Not holding my breath on it....
  23. there was a disagreement among the board owners so they shut down. I'm sure some of them will put something else up but don't know when.
  24. i think that red boob halter and boa look should come back in style
  25. i've been there - you just need to tell them that even though you really like them, they've been great to you, etc. etc. that its really uncomfortable for you to be close with them right now..blah blah blah. if that's how you honestly feel you gotta just say it. Then just say hi when you see them but don't get into conversations about what your doing, school, whatever for a while. Eventually it won't be awkward anymore.
