  1. Not only were the tix $75 (plus service charge=$80+) but for all the money I paid, I only got a little more than two hours worth of Oakie! At least when Paul Van Dyle played at Twilo, he went from Midnight until 6am. Granted the other djs there were good-the Asian DJ who went on right before oakie was really, really good, tearing it up with good tracks. Left when Paul left, went to the factory afterwards (read the other posts)
  2. Less energy and more trancy than usual. Not the typical tear it up Jonathon we're used to. A bad night? I don't think so. I definitely enjoyed this "I can walk to the bathroom from the stairs on level three in 2 minutes It's nice to have a little bit of variety when I go to the Factory. Most people came over with me from World between 4 and 6am after Oakenfold. In another post, I did mention that the music went down 3 times, anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 minutes. Some guy convinced a few people that it's something Jonathon likes to do because "he can" but we later found out that the fuse blew 3 times, causing the music to stop.
  3. Weird as this sounds, I'm convinced that at least half of everyone's gripes with their service is due to their phone, not the carrier. Case in point- last night, on the way to World for the Oakenfold party, one of my friends tried to call in the Lincoln Tunnel, no luck. He's got a star-tac. I had full signal on my Samsung 3500, so I let him use my phone. The person he called refused to believe he was on a cell IN the tunnel. But, I've been a Sprint user for a couple of months, and I've had NO problems whatsoever. Definitely better than my Voicestream service where I kept losing minutes to calls that never went through.
  4. Since you're located in NJ, have you checked out Shotsie's on Rt 23 in Wayne? All of the artists there are award winners, and you can always get an estimate before you commit. Regarding the black fading issue, that really takes over twenty years of neglect (yes, you have to take care of your art) for any type of fading to occur. I've got a Phoenix on my right ankle that's about 10 years old, and an Ankh on my left shoulder blade (which has more detail and color) that is 4 years old. Both of them still look pretty fresh. Just like with your skin, moisturize and keep it clean and your art will last a lifetime. If you would like, I know one of the artists at Shotsie's personally. He might be able to give you a break on whatever you want. PM me and I'll give you all the details. ps- I personally find lower back tatoos on women to be one hell of a turn
  5. It was really hard to hear the guy on the microphone from where I was on level three, but I later found out that SF blew fuses 3 times. 3 TIMES!!! The funny thing was, some guy in my area was convincing everyone that Jonathon is notorious for this because "he can." Guess this time a higher power beat Jonathon to it.
  6. Amen, brother...God bless us, EVERY one!!!
  7. it was my drink that got spilt Barvybe---did this happen at the meet up Friday night?
  8. Very nice pic. I saw you, actually, I gawked at you (just being honest) When I left SF, the underwear percentage was around 10%. maybe, I dunno. Too messed up to really tell.
  9. Wish I was in your situation...after an all nighter at the Sound Factory, I am now at work!!! How i miss my bed... If it wasn't Sunday (and if I wasn't virtually braindead) I'd invite you to join me for Sushi and Sake at Okinawa in The Village. Sorry... Why don't you check out American Pie 2? Heard it was a funny, funny movie. Lots of references to the first, but supposedly it's much better...
  10. Some of my friends are just getting back from Sound Factory's Underwear Party NOW (it's 2:20pm), so I guess that's a few of the people we can account for.
  11. It was, pretty good, but not the best time I had at the Factory. I got there around 2 and surprisingly, the music was excellent and the place was already crowded (a bad sign that early, but look what party it was). At 3am, Jonathon tore the place up with "Where's the Sunshine" with a wicked light display. During the song, it rained in the Factory- never saw that before, but I've been told that it's been done before. It was good until about 6, then hundreds of people just started showing up. Don't get me wrong, I love the crowds, but there were just TOO many people that it took me between 30 and 45 minutes to get from the dance floor to the exit door at 8am. Never took me that long before, maybe 20 minutes. By then, the music was slowing down, don't know how it was after. Guess my issue isn't about the number of people, but the number of "dumb" people who were there. Hopefully it got better after I left for those who stayed.
  12. How do you NOT know Sasha? Have you picked up any imports recently?
  13. Just wondering if anyone was going to the Factory this Saturday. I know it's the underwear party, and the scene "should" be pretty insane, but it's been about a month since I've been out, and I wouldn't mind meeting some new faces (sorry, guys, can't make it to the newbie meet-up, had a prior engagement for Friday night.). PM me if you'll be there, guy or girl, I wouldn't mind either way, I'll be there with a few peeps from work. Or, you can look for a guy with black leather pants and purple glowstix (sorry, I'm one of those) who'll be down on the dance floor, all the way in the back to the right, by the stairwell that leads to level two. I'll be there between four and 5 am. Hope to meet some of you guys there. :horns: :shaky:woah2:
  14. People, please, calm down (I can't believe the debate is still going on.). So you want the Asians to leave Exit and open a new club, huh? Somehow, I can't shake the feeling that if that were to happen, similar voices (not the ones in my head, stupid) would complain about the Asians there too. For crissakes, people, have some pills and let's just all end this topic. I'll even let you use my purple glowstix as a sign of peace. :shades: :shades: :shades:
  15. So can i safely assume that Club Nowhere is on the second runway of the Aircraft Carrier Intrepid?
  16. Think you're the only ones getting attitude from these asians 'cause you're white? Let me tell ya, I'm Asian American (Filipino, actually, born in NJ) but I get the attitude from the cliques too. I don't think it's a race thing, they're just plain ASSHOLES. Once I almost got in to a fight because some freak chick who's rolling waaaaay past the acceptable limits at Exit bumped into me from behind, I turn around, and her puny (I'm 5'7" and this dude makes me look like Shaq) boyfriend or whatever gets in my face thinking I'm trying to start something with her. Back off dude, or I'll stick this purple glowstick so far up your ass that you'll have to move it to brush your teeth in the morning! Anyway, my point is, they suck. They suck to you, to me, and probably to everyone else on this board. Throw them some rice or something, maybe they'll be nice and share with you.
  17. There are so Asians at SF. You're talking to on of them. I'm not a regular (go every 2-3 weeks) but I can normally be found on the floor in the back, by the stairs going to level 2. Not that many of us there, but then again, does it really matter? Go have a good time, no matter what you look like.
  18. Is there even really a discussion here? As I write this (1:45pm Sunday afternoon) there are no other clubs STILL open besides Sound Factory. Twilo's closed, let it rest in peace. SF forever.
