GU board, yes this is THE tour! "For those interested, add these to the list: 3/29 -- Avalon, Boston, MA 4/4 -- Water Street Music Hall, Rochester, NY 5/3 -- San Diego Sports Arena Starting to sound like a Dave Matthews tour. ()" No I don't work on Ld. street yet, I have to go cause, well, I got to!
  3. I only started listening to him when they were campaigning for him on the Avalon board. He is fucking nasty! I'm really feeling the techno, but he's got noises and sounds in their to keep you interested. He's gonna tear Avalon apart.

    Wondering

Thanks man, I've been lurking for a while, hehe. Ok I'm fronting cause I don't know much about putting a real night together. BUT, I thought if I had a really clear, well thought out idea along with a phat mixe my chances would be better. I've tried walking into a place and getting a night, we even gaurenteed at least 50-100 people (when I used to know a lot of people in college) and the guy was just like hell no. Ok it was at Ri-Ra's (An Tua Nua) and the guy owns the Pheonix LAnding so another electronic night on Wednesday was not gonna happen for him, I guess, that's what the manager told us anyways. My very simplified understanding of the situation is that you get people to show up and have a good time. The manager/owner of the space gets $$ from the bar and the door, and they pay the talent, promotors whatever from that $$. I say take that money and reinvest it completely in stuff to improve the night, my $0.02. If someone knows a manager, owner, works at a place where something like this can work I think it's a phat idea. Appartently some people agree too!

    Wondering

kay, We have some fookin vulcan mind meld or something cuz I was thinking the exact same thing. Actaully I was gonna email a friend of mine and say we should start a night, chill lounge scene on maybe a Wed. or Sat. or some kinda off night. Off course the beats would be phat, progressive is my scene but it's all good. Maybe have a few guest spots, but a resident's night. The most important part of the night would be making the VIBE the best it could possibly be. That means making people comfertable, happy, entertained in the lounge suroundings. I was thinking I would reinvest 100% of any $$ right back into the night to make the people happy, free stuff, dancers, whatever keeps the vibe nice and fresh. We won't need much promotions b/c the night would speek for itself via word of mouth. We wouldn't need to be the biggest, badest, most pretentious night or anything, just QUALITY. OK, I know the talent, who has the space (preferably in the city)? Peace, Dave Wagz www.omniedge.com/wagz.htm

    Pulse ??

Prob. Mike Hoska in the lounge. I got a chance to spin in the lounge @ the Whalen CD release party and this club is a mad fun time if anyone was unsure about going or not.
  9. I might check out Nick Warren @ Avalon thursday (Europalooza?!).

    Tiesto

Yes, it wasn't over the top biggest hits but he played a good mix of new and classic tracks (4 Strings, Crystals, etc.). There was a remix of Dave Mathew's "space between" that was a pleasent surprise. The crowd was hype and appreciative and I heard he was really nice and signed mad autographs. My jaw is still a little sore from that night

It was good, only about 200 people there. Metropolis was a decent club, they had the best air conditioning system ever (perfect temperature, not to breezy but well ventalated), but they had to close at 1am
  12. Anybody need directions to Pulse drop me an email: dw@bu.edu
  13. Ummmmm, I finally get to drop at the store...lol
  14. I'm not positive but I think Zen is closed for a few weeks for legal stuff.
  15. Progressive! Meaning if it sounds good I'll play it... Dave
  16. I will, I'll get directions ASAP to post.
  17. It's gonna be nutz. How do S+D spin, that is trade off records or split up the time? If you're looking for afterhours, PULSE in RI, I should be spinning along with Mike Whalen (CD release!). peace
  18. Super - Sorry bro, I really didn't mean that as a dig on Nailz, I got nothing wrong with him what so ever. Reading my message again it did sound like a diss, not my intention, just thought it was a funny juxtaposition cuz S+D are my prog legends and Nailz is a popular local hard trance guy. I really did want to wish you luck on Sat.'s cuz Avalon and Axis are two of the best clubs in the city. Ace - I can't speak for your situation b/c I'm not involved but def. no "drama" intended. What did you think of my CD? [sorry about the glitch :60 in, it was a different version than the one online now]
  19. Wow, that is the craziest sh*t I've heard in a while. Does that mean he can put "Spun with S+D" on his resume now? I couldn't imagine two more random sets of dj's, hehe. If doors are opening @ 8, does that mean Nailz is spinning a 6 hour set? Can I open for him? Good luck with Saturdays, Supah. Hope you guys do well with it.

  21. I'll give this a little bizzity bumparoonie... I read some of the dj topics and there are knowledgable people, so if anybody has a minute (or 80) to give this a listen and a comment, that would be super. lata, Resident
  22. Oooh, I'd love to go to Hibernia on Sat. but my girl's under 21. I have to meet Steve Porter, he's the fxckin man and he's my age! Sorry, don't have any other suggestions. Ya, BC is a great school but it sounds like you're more of a BU kid, lol.
  23. Haha, I knew you might take that personal. New York's kewl but you came to BOSTON to go to school, what! Actually my best friend goes to BC, it's a good school just not my style. I might check out the Notre Dame game, should be pretty fun. I spun at a party in the 'mods not to long ago too. The party scene is way different so I like to mix it up every once in a while. BC kids are ignorant as fuck when it comes to electronic music as a whole, that's the one thing that bugs me. peace
  24. Thanks for the history, Dork! You BC kidz are always overachieving, huh? I luv that dirty water (pronounced wa-tah)
