damn that glitch!! b/c u had a lot of good points... Last time i did roxy, I had a promoter tell me, "Im glad ur spinnin--I been selling a LOT of tickets b/c people want to see you!" I said fantastic thats the way it should be-- and add another point for Roxy==who always has needles in its turntables But seriously Dr. Moody is 100% correct here, and I hope these last few months have worked as a sledgehammer to the head of exit, making them realize the actual shithole they have become. NYC needs a megaclub--a place that has something for everyone, that appeals to commerical as well as underground crowds... Again, we can only hope this Evolution works as planned by the right people-- As for the roach, Im sorry to say but theres no metaphor there...it really was a roach that big...Goin into that night i figured I'd have to fight with 9 other dj's to get control of that booth to spin, I never figured I'd have to fight a roach also.... i agree..... when i went back to exit 2 weeks ago...I tried to keep all the bad thoughts from my mind and just accept the place for what it was...it was rough, but i saw all that potential... as for the asian promoters from exit--I received an email about a new friday asian party starting at saci the same night exit starts it new party but im not 100% sure its the same people-- Jason, Denny and RIchie bring such a nice sound that will bring a nice vibe back to that room. And if u've been to any of their events, the girls that come out to see these guys.. its uncanny, but seriously I hope this works out b/c it will be nice to have options once again--nice good friday party at exit....great party still goin at Roxy....Dt afterhours if i got anything left.... hopefully i dont look back on this post in 2 months with a giant hail of 's Mike Bugout

unfortunately its all about money and how many tickets u sell....my hope is that this EVOLUTION takes over exit and turns it into even a 1/3rd of what it is capable of... unfortunately zeek this guy appeals to what i been saying all along so i gotta say AMEN TIM!! You've learned the hard way what many dj's have learned to be life in the city. Your 'try-out' went on in the count room when they looked at ur guestlist numbers as opposed to when u actually played ur music. Point to zeeker tho--Red room does have a bar-but most people dont goto exit to get their drink on, BUT i do understand u need a bar there to get people in there...I understand what u mean. Tim it may surprise you but there is a new breed of dj's being born. They are the love child of Promoters and Money. Yeah, picture a promoter getting into bed with money and spurning this evil wicked young dj who doesnt own one vinyl. He just downloads. Does anyone else see a problem with the fact that some kids who spin in exits siderooms DONT EVEN OWN DJ EQUIPMENT AT THEIR HOME?? This is like high school kids playing in the nba. Sure theres a kobe or a kg here or there but look at jermaine o neal...4 yrs later he's a star...Imagine what college cudda done for that kid....u dig? Im from the old school and i spun house parties and upstate shit clubs until i came CLOSE to the bright lights of the world's best city--- Now i know that sounds like the in my day argument but its true--

yeah seriously a year flew by..... I dunno what everyones plans are on the 20th, but I think a Hugeeeeeee CP meetup would be in order at Roxy that nite. Its Vicious' bday so you know he's gonna throw down lovely--and since its the one year anniversary of the party, I think it would be cool for everyone to meetup and hang out there once again... I'll be there regardless and prolly drunk off the heezy since my last final is that morning Mike Bugout

so lemme understand you correctly: you want a set list, from a dj's set, that occured in the nyc area, in the past few weeks... any dj or any set will do? if so i can post my exit setlist from tgiving eve or from roxy the following friday ??????????

Now dont me wrong, you make me a drink Imma tip you no doubt and tip u well....but im sorry, you hand me a gatorade which i could've reached behind there and grabbed myself and u expect me to award u for that effort? sorry. But sometimes I'll even tip these people especially f they are swamped-- but to give me an attitude when i dont tip...sorry thats gotta go.... ps--roxy also has these things called 'drink tickets' where the bartender makes u a drink for free and we ALWAYS tip the bartenders lovely... pps-roxy charges more for drinks, okay. At least they dont have a room where u cant get in unless your buyin a bottle dont turn this into roxy vs exit.....this is all about constructive criticism to help exit achieve what its capable of...Zeek-u love the place...Im SURE u have some suggestions??

You are 100% correct. All i could think of last time i was there were the POSSIBILITIES that place holds. But honestly...like Mikey and Cody and everyone else said....as long as the same promoters and management are there, the reuptation will stay with that club and work like a stigma.... They've tried bringin in the best dj's in the world, didnt work. Change the crowd, okay thats a start but honestly that place is similar to an insane asylum where the patients are in charge. The only reason I went back there to work last month was b/c i was working with an outside promoter. Everyone's gotta go. Everyone. From Marvesi on down. The guy working the rope at the white room. The asshole inside the white room in the 50 dollar suit. The bartenders who sneer at you for not tipping after you paid 7 BUCKS for a gatorade b/c its 100000 degrees inside there. The bouncers who get off on molesting people. The roach who lives in the white room dj booth. The bouncers outside who refuse to let a dj in with his records for free.. EVERYONE.... but good luck with your new party there:D
