  1. Just got home after closing it out. Missed Vath, unfortunately -- got there at 5:15 (though I did see him running around with a toilet seat around his neck and a record case on his head... WTF???) Hawtin rocked! Techno and tech house... mmm mmm good! I haven't danced that much in weeks! This was definitely my best night at Arc/Vinyl all year!!! Kudos to all the CP heads who stuck it out... always fun to get down with people you know... Nice thing is, I slept 6 hours before heading out, so I don't feel the slightest bit cracked out! I always wanted to try that... I'll definitely be doing that again... got there just as the crowd was starting to thin out, so I had room to dance the whole night! Summary: it was good. I had fun. Yes.

    Why do guys

I would hate it if I couldn't wear clothes I like, but I'm not telling anyone they can't or shouldn't. I'm just saying, if you wear tight clothes, you will get harassed. IT IS NOT RIGHT, I NEVER SAID IT WAS. But that's the way it is. Umm... I don't want women to wear frumpy clothing. Whatever gave you that idea? I like to see women in attractive clothes. I guess I don't understand the point of that question -- it seems like you think I *want* women to cover their bodies. Not at all! Yeah, I know guys will be dicks whatever you wear. But you have to admit, tight clothing increases the likelihood. AGAIN, I'M NOT SAYING THAT HARASSMENT IS RIGHT, OR DESERVED, OR WOMEN "ASKED FOR IT." There is definitely a line to be drawn between flattery and harassment (as others have been saying), and I think that many women dress up because it draws flattery. Unfortunately, it will also draw harassment. It would be nice if that weren't so, but it is.
  7. I would have, but I really couldn't... believe me, I wanted to be there!!!

  11. I don't think this board is "unfair" and I'm not trying to have "debates." I'm TRYING to have intelligent conversations, but they tend to degenerate into arguments. I think that's sad. There are a few very bright and insightful people on the boards, and we could have some really great conversations if we all tried... I guess I keep doing it because every now and then, I *do* have a great discussion, and I've even made friends that way... so I suppose the long-term benefits outweigh the short-term frustration. *shrug*
  12. YOU telling ME to give it a rest? lol... that's a good one! You jumped down MY throat, remember? I've merely been trying to explain myself this whole time... and you have yet to give me a simple benefit of the doubt... I guess that's too much to ask around here.
  13. No. It is NOT semantics. I asked the question, I know what I meant, and I've been trying to explain that to you... do you really think you understand my own question better than I do? Even if there are people who just like to wear comfortable clothes, if you read back to MY FIRST POST IN THIS THREAD, you'll see that I'm talking about people who use style as a form of SELF-EXPRESSION. "I like it" and "it's comfortable" do NOT address that question... I never said that you in particular said that... so feel free to stop arguing about it at any time.

  15. I'd like to think so... :worry2:
  16. It's not semantics -- it's an entirely different question if you phrase it that way. And you ARE mistaken. The way I see it, there is nothing introspective about "I like it" or "I feel comfortable in it." Those are very vague answers; they don't say anything about you as a person.
  17. Um, no (and I'm pretty sure VGM was joking, btw... correct me if I'm wrong...) "I like it" and "I feel comfortable in it" are weak answers that don't address my question at all. romy20 and wideskies both gave very honest answers. They're both saying, "I wear X because I want to achieve Y, or express Z about myself." That's what I've been asking for all along.
  18. That's the most honest answer I've seen all day. *waits for people to complain that it was just the answer I was looking for...*
  19. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST! I NEVER SAID THERE WAS ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT!!!!
  20. I'm not criticizing you, so there's no need to get defensive. I feel like I'm not really getting at what I wanted to know... I wanted to know what it was about certain women that made them like tight clothes in particular. Okay, so you say they look good... but some women think slacks look good... or loose skirts... or any number of other styles... I guess people just aren't interested in thinking about this one...
