  2. You don't think the V600's can stand up to everyday use? I've had them for over 2 years now, no problems (despite the time they were plugged into my stereo and my ex-girlfriend jacked up the volume to the maximum and asked me "Why is the volume from your stereo speakers so low?")
  3. Times they are a-changin'.... That interview was last year (I remembered it because they were handing out that issue of DJ Times at Vinyl for free). I wouldn't be surprised if Danny uses CDs even more now, since the CDJ-1000's are out. It's hard to know exactly what he's using, though, since he puts that curtain over the mirror :\ Anyway... whatever works. I expect a good DJ to be able to beatmatch... that's the basic skill. What's much more interesting is track selection and creativity in the set. I don't care if you're using vinyl, CDs, a Kiddie Record Player... if you can make me move, you're alright in my book!
  4. For some reason, I can work with earbuds, but full-sized phones just make me zone out to the music... something about they way they envelop my head. Otherwise I'd probably bring my Sony MDR-V600's in to work... *sigh*
  5. Okay... I'm not talking audiophile quality here... just good enough that you get strong output and reasonable bass. Just traded in my POS $3 Koss earbuds for some "quality" $11 Panasonic earbuds. I used to have to turn the volume all the way up and amp the sound in Winamp to the point of distortion... now the volume's at 1/3, no amp, and Digweed never sounded better! (at work, that is... my home system is another beast entirely...) Anyway... it's nice how a minimal investment can pay off... :)
  6. I don't mind alcohol in a club if the crowd is pleasant. Unfortunately, I've only ever experienced that in maybe three clubs... (hint... they're NOT in NYC...)
  7. You're taking the sex board a little seriously there, Jon... like you have no life off CP or something... Who cares what a bunch of sex-starved clubbers have to say? If you're bored, go fly a kite or something.

  14. Who's that guy with his hand on your shoulder? He's kinda cute... ;) Man, that was a great weekend...
  15. Our offices are half a block from the World Trade Center. Because the area will be mobbed that day, most of us will be working from home. I don't recommend going down there on 9/11 unless you really have to. You can see the ceremonies on TV, and pay your respects at the site at another time when you won't be fighting for space with all the tourists. I think it will be more meaningful that way, too...
  16. Lives are lost every day in senseless and/or malicious acts of violence. Who gets to decide which ones are worthy of special recognition? Why should this event be memorialized and not Oklahoma City? Because more people died? Because the terrorists weren't Americans? I agree with what's been said earlier -- holidays are for celebration. 9/11 did not advance our country in any way, except to remind us that we're not invincible.
