  1. amazing performance by Koo today, in the second game of Subway Series I ! 3 K's in a row, a double, and a run scored from 2nd base off a bunt! Let's see a Yankees reliever do all that! His hit came in his second career at-bat, and against Randy Johnson. (Did he get the ball for that?) Did anyone see his first at-bat, against the Reds last Monday? He looked so bad - stood at the outside edge of the batter's box, and didn't swing at all, striking out in 4 pitches. That play at the plate was really close, but he (or the 3rd base coach) was really smart to see that Posada was way out, and no one was covering.
  2. Too bad the Mets weren't able to follow up on Glavine's outing
  3. wow, what a performance against the Cardinals! Let's hope he keeps it up throughout the season Too bad Matsui made that error in the 8th Fortunately that was followed with great pitching by Hernandez and Looper
  4. He's pitching well tonight vs Mets, but too bad (but good for the Mets ) he gave up the 2 home runs to Cliff Floyd
  5. http://www.nypost.com/sports/23699.htm Fewer walks in his second outing, but still not good as he gave up 2 hits and 2 walks, and got into a verbal altercation with a spectator. Doesn't look like big-league mental toughness there. He's giving until July 15 to make the majors. I don't think he'll make it. Maybe if he allows more time and has more patience, he'll have a chance.
  6. that was a great sliding catch that Floyd made that got Pedro out of his last inning
  7. I was there also. The rain delay sucked, and it was mad cold, but the game was great, especially Beltran's home run. Funny how everyone was pulling for Reyes to get a walk near the end. Lots of empty seats, but the people there were full of energy, I was able to move down a few rows to get a better view. Because of the delay, people who went can get free tickets to a game during either the Astros or Phillies series in June. I hope I get a chance to see Clemens in action!
  8. The Yankees seriously need to be able to string together games when they're both hitting and pitching well. Maybe they shouldn't have blowouts, because it seems like they've been jinxing themselves right after every time they do so. Like Johnson losing right after the Yanks beat the Devil Rays 19-8, and then again after A-Rod's 10-RBI night (which they followed with just 3 runs total in 3 games). It's the Curse of the Rodrigo. Kevin Brown wasn't too bad last night, but got no run support And tonight against the Blue Jays, Johnson pitched well and went the distance, but got outpitched by Halladay Since it's been so long since his last opportunity, I wonder if Rivera still remembers how to save games LOL.
  9. Good to see the Sixers make their shots and win one against the Pistons
  10. yup, Lieber is now with the Phillies, and won his first four starts this season
  11. No, Danny Kolb is right-handed and the current closer In the game against the Mets last Tuesday, in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs, he gave up 4 straight hits and 2 runs, and got taken out. He hasn't looked too impressive in previous outings. Def not looking like how Smoltz used to. John Foster is their lone lefty, who bailed Kolb and the Braves out by getting Cliff Floyd out with men on 1st and 3rd, and the score 4-3. It was just his second game of the season, so it was impressive of him to come through in the clutch like that
  12. Just throwing that possibility out there Assuming he improves on his performance, of course Braves have only 1 left-handed reliever, so he'd be able to help there
  13. http://www.nypost.com/sports/23610.htm He didn't give up a hit in his first outing But everyone got on base due to walks, including the winning run for the opposing team Too bad he was just one strike away from having a good outing Is anyone going to see the Ducks to check him (or Pete Rose, Jr or anyone else) out? Has anyone seen a Ducks game? How are they? I wonder if the Braves have any interest taking him back. He might be better than Kolb, even now lol
  14. Great game, great lucky bounce by Carter at the end of the first OT The Nets had so many chances to win, but they just couldn't even buy a bucket when it counted I groaned in outrage so many times, after all the shots they missed late in the game

  22. Yeah, I happened to notice that when I went last Saturday for Dave Ralph. (btw, was anyone there that night? there was this Asian [female] dancer who attracted lots of attention! but I digress...) It was going on when I came in at around 11:30, and it ended around midnight. I think it starts at 7 or 8 According to http://www.hunk-o-mania.com/Tourinfo.htm , it's every Friday and Saturday
  23. Yeah, the crowd was a little more thugged out than usual. When I arrived at around 1:15, I noticed how long the line was, and thought it would take me forever to get in. Some friends I happened to see there decided to give up and go somewhere else. Luckily for me, not too long later, one of the door people told me to go right to the front of the line. Interesting schedule of music in the Grafitti Room, or so I had heard. First, drum & bass, then trance (spun by someone I know through tranceaddict, and it was quite nice), then hard house. Alex Pearce was there? He was supposed to play in the Pink Room at 4:30, but I saw no sign of him. The whole third floor closed down early, a little before 5 am. Does anyone else think there could be cool afterhours on the roof, like on the terrace at Space (in both Ibiza and Miami) ?
