  1. Dammit, second time I didn't know about him playing in NYC until after the fact!
  2. I believe Alex Gold played for the last 2 hours, right after PVD Appears that the guy from Crystal Method wasn't there
  3. I have too many faves, so I'll answer a different question I really want to see Above & Beyond play, as I have yet to do so as for fave local (NYC) DJ's: Jason Jollins Victor Dinaire (though he will soon no longer be local) Eddie Lee DJ Tek (Tae Seol)
  4. one of his shows http://www.futureprogression.com/music.html
  5. no, it's "Ti-jis" just kidding... he talks about that a little in his first DVD, Another Day at the Office

  7. TFST events are usually announced on TA. I sometimes post here, when I don't forget. Sign up to be on their mailing list as well. Hip-hop/R&B/reggae/some latin is played upstairs
  8. There isn't a weekly trance event at a single place, but almost every weekend, there is something going on somewhere. There aren't always big names, but the DJ's are still quite good. Also, for more info about trance events in particular check out the NY forum at tranceaddict.com It would be nice if there were something like Glow in DC (www.clubglow.com), or even bi-weekly, like Trance Club Heaven in LA (www.tranceclubheaven.com). Has anyone been to either and can comment on them? If I may add a shameless plug, check out the TFST events some time, which my friends put on - monthly at Club Seho, bi-weekly at Fuzion on A (more loungy and proggy, but there's starting to be more trance played there). The resident DJ's are all excellent, most notably DJ Tek, who I think is extremely talented and versatile, and should be playing bigger gigs. http://www.tfst-nyc.com btw, to mention a few more names, and I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting right now... Filo & Peri are from NYC. Too bad they don't play here more often. They are playing on Wednesday, but at a private event. Also, Serge Devant, who's often spinning (usually either opening or closing) at Avalon on Fridays and Ikon on Saturdays, did a track with Jan Johnston, which is on one of Armin's labels. He did play plenty of trance at an event at Crobar, where Johnston performed; it would be nice if he did more.
  9. For the moment, it was a one-off event, and actually, he's moving out to the west coast in a few weeks. The size of the crowd fluctuated throughout the night, but there were plenty of fans and diehards there, and the vibe was great. Pics from last night: http://photobucket.com/albums/v394/partyhopper/Ikon_09182004/?start=all For those who don't know, he's actually headlined on the main floor at least twice, when the place was Exit
  10. very much so! it's too bad you won't have a chance to first tune into his Resident Nation show on Music Choice (if you have Direct TV or Digital cable, or if you're not out on Friday nights, you can hear the audio simulcast on www.ets-global.org ) If you have XM Radio, you can tune in to his Future Progression show, 6-10 pm EST (right before going to the club - how convenient! ) Here's where you can find info about his shows, with playlists, and an mp3 of a past show: http://www.futureprogression.com
  11. Ikon - Victor Dinaire in the Pink Room, 2-6 am! btw, for those in the NYC area, this is one of the last chances to catch him around here, at least for a while, before he moves out west
  12. Pics from that night http://photobucket.com/albums/v394/partyhopper/GK_09112004/?start=all this Saturday, I'm planning to come for Victor Dinaire and Jason Jollins in the Pink Room!
  13. I don't know if many of the ppl who were on CP back then still come around here, but anyways... 3 years ago, the terrorists took away a wonderful person from this board and from the NYC clubbing community: Casey, aka BlueAngel. She certainly had a quite a presence here, and she organized awesome board meetups - several of the people I met there I still see around these days. As fate would have it, she organized a trip to Ibiza, consisting of CP ppl, and was scheduled to leave that day. She herself dropped out to take a new job, which was at the WTC. Here is her last post (notice who she responded to ) : http://bbs.clubplanet.com/showthrea...15&pagenumber=2 I'm sure that those who knew her certainly remember her and miss her. If you're one of them, chime in.

  16. Fantastic time for me! I saved a few bucks by buying at Satellite, paying $44 there. I wonder how many people did likewise. I agree the price was a little steep, but turnout still seemed to be pretty good. What is the usual cover at CPI?
  17. I had a wonderfully wicked time! Thanks to all of the DJ's Twas great when Eddie dropped Nikola Gala - Swing to Harmony as his last track G&D played a great mix of old and new As The Rush Comes still gets the crowd going
  18. Just wondering... what recommendations do y'all have for things to do or places to hit before going to PVD @ CPI?
  19. ok, well i was wondering whether ppl dressed more in the way of beach clothes or club clothes
  20. Cool. How do ppl usually dress there?
  21. True for that... Airports usually have currency exchanges - the Travelex at JFK seemed to work for me when I went to Europe a few weeks ago. I once changed money at a bank, and I thought I got ripped off.
  22. Does CPI have a dress code, or more importantly, will there be one on Sunday for PVD? If so, details please. Thanks!
