  1. Almost fully recovered now... big Big thanks to Mugz for all the props, to Rich for a killer set (and more props to Rich who with fellow Pdomer Mike Cala will be opening for Danny T May 17!) and thanks to all who helped make the first Pleasuredome a tremendous success. Stay tuned for Pleasuredome II coming this fall!
  2. This is going to be a kickass "new" space. I went to the opening construction party last Saturday night and for those that haven't been to a Shelter party-- it's very special. If you've been bewailing the lack of diversity, or sexual energy, or "vibe"... this party is ON. The Phazon still needs tweaking-- the highs and mids both lacking, though bass was rich and tasty. Even if you don't particularly care for vocal house or classic Paradise Garage/Loft tracks, this is worth a visit and I think it will just get better over the next few weeks as they finish the construction.
  3. To be exact: 4. Legal Marijuana Use in Switzerland: Cabinet Gives Okay, Next Step is Parliamentary Approval On October 2nd, 2000, the Swiss cabinet approved changes in that country's drug laws that would legalize the consumption of cannabis products. The cabinet declined to address whether growing and sales would be made legal. The Swiss executive branch will now write the revisions and submit them to parliament for approval. The measure is expected to pass. Of the four political parties that make up the governing coalition, only the far-right Swiss People's Party opposes the measure. The rest of the coalition, from the Social Democrats on the left to the centrist Liberals and the Christian People's Party on the right, support legalization of cannabis, at least in principle. In March, both houses of parliament approved resolutions calling for legalization of cannabis. Manuel Sager, director of communications for the Swiss embassy in Washington, told DRCNet that legalization of marijuana consumption "seems to have fairly wide acceptance." But the head shops didn't wait for approval... in December 2000 they were selling beautiful manicured homegrown for $5-$10 a gram.
  4. I'd have to weigh in on the snowboard side... but it's the result of learning to board in the Swiss Alps from a local dude with green and red hair who introduced me to the joys of communing with the mountain through the board. By the end of a week I was able to taste the first fruits of the learning-- it does take a little while to get started-- but then again, they had just legalized pot in Switzerland, so the fresh White Widow may have had some impact on the learning curve. The payoff on my second trip to Gstaad was a perfect New Years' Day atop a glacier looking more like the top of the world. Cruising off-piste into fresh powder, falling, laughing through the ice, the board and the air and the mountain making motion. Now I'm hooked. I doubt I'll ski again...
  5. The V&E combo is certainly not for those with heart conditions. Better still if you're used to strenuous exercise because this cocktail will get you going... Moderate doses (1/4 to 1/2 Viagra with 1-1 1/2 pills) counteract the dreaded sometime "softie" side effect of E. And not only does it increase duration, it expands length and girth a bit too. Perfect for an orgy. But again, and as always, combining drugs is potentially dangerous, and what was a blast for my second cousin (who told me all about this, of course) might be fatal for you. Read the Viagra counterindications before you try. A high dose of E with it probably not wise either.
  6. OR... you and your gf/bf could enjoy such flirtatious pastimes together... not everyone has the same boundaries/interests, remember.
  7. We plan to pop our Roxy/Vicious cherry tonight... see you there.
  8. Two more cents... My GF comes out with me about half the time... she likes to dance but doesn't love the music/scene as much as I do. She's happy not to be out til 5AM on a Tuesday at Filter, I'm happy to feel free to go out when I want, it works out well for us, but we've been together for a while and that makes a difference. We're both big fat nympho flirts so we're likely to be sexing it up whether together or solo -- that might be different if either of you are the jealous type. I agree it's better to go out on your own/with friends if you really want to go than drag someone around who's not really into it just b/c they're your bf/gf. Lots of other ways to spend time w/your loved one.

  10. Lunaterium is great: Blackkat parties are always a good time and there's a big one this Sat. as mentioned. Lately they have been ending a little earlier than they used to, like 4-5AM (fond memories of being on the roof at 8AM... ) For afterhours... check out the new Combustive Arts space... there's a party this Sat that will go at least til 10AM, probably later. Full details in the Promotions forum and on the Calendar.
  11. Absolutely worth checking out. Great spot for early evening lounging or warming up the booty before DT, etc. Visuals are always mightily entertaining at FUN and this VJ is no exception. MUGZ- good to meet you- and keep preaching the alternative gospel... CentroFly may be bringing in some hot DJ's but they can't keep a good vibe going when it gets crowded. The last time Deep Dish played (not last week) we left after 30 mins because the energy was so evil... People deserve both (music and vibe). It's not too much to ask of one's evening.
  12. Here's a good one that remains in memory despite best efforts... Last August, my GF & I took double-dipped sugar cubes riding on an open boat on the Seine in Paris. Started to come on just as the boat went onto the canal and into the old underground tunnels, which are lit only by sunlight coming through small glass windows in the ceiling. Incredibly beautiful and talk about down the rabbit hole... when we came out, I started tripping so hard I had to lie down because I was starting to see creatures in the water and only the sky could comfort me. Well, it made sense at the time. At last we arrived at the Parc de la Villette which is an architectural fiesta on the edges of Paris, complete with a giant mirrored geo-dome, a museum of science and technology, and enough paths and interactive installations to bug you out stone cold sober. Back on land I found my feet and was back to my usual "Captain Trips" demeanor, hanging upside down from a 20-foot sculpture of a bicycle and jumping off the path to crawl through a bamboo forest. Then we met the school group. We were sitting lotus-style in the middle of a stone "sound sculpture": a cylinder of stone with running water creating echoes and drones like a LaMonte Young symphony. The kids, maybe 20 of them, ran into the middle of the sculpture but stopped and pointed when they saw us. We started to chant and to make tiny mudras with our hands; the kids, without missing a beat, sat and imitated us. My girlfriend started to laugh and prodded me to stop (the teacher was beginning to look concerned) but instead I started preaching a polyglot sermon in Hebrew, English and French as the kids gawped. Then the teacher got a little scared and dragged the kids away... Although I wanted to remain at the seat of enlightenment forever, I was dragged to the geodome where the clouds swirled magic Maigrittes and cunning sound sculptures kept us guessing-- were we hallucinating the tones or were they really there? Feeling fine we figured it was time to add a little candy to our flip and we popped back two fine igloos and smoked a little Hawaiian. About half an hour later, we skipped through a grassy field as a light rain fell. We went into the Science Museum just as the roll started to kick... and got lost in the geology exhibit, buried in the magma and the old-school multi-projector slide show. Then we saw the sign: "The Hallucinoscope". We started laughing so hard that the security guard gave us a stern glance which only made us laugh harder. The Hallucinoscope was a walk-through sculpture with the visuals on the ceiling. You wore glasses with mirrors that reflected up and walked through holding onto a handrail so you wouldn't fall. If you can imagine the sight of thirty people, old ladies and kids and a few crackheads, walking slowly in single file under a ceiling full of day-glo Muppetlike monsters, flashing lights, and swimming fish... not sure which was trippier but I do know we went through three times before they started looking suspicious and we beat it back outside to the giant dragon slide and the swings and the clouds melting in the mirrors and the sweet taste of grass as we rolled in it, on it, on each other happy as clams. So not so much about the brute quantity o'substance (though there's a tale or two there too) but for sheer off-the-face what planet IS this... I'll take Paris, any time.
  13. Great tips shroomy... I'm sure you've come by your expertise honorably down FL way... the blender approach sounds like a big winner. Thanks!
  14. An old friend dropped by just moments ago with QUITE the surprise in his magic bag... those good old cow-patty-grown, blue-bruisin fungi. Yum, yum yum! Haven't had these in ages and now debating what debauched use to put them to. Suggestions, anyone? Also, people's ways to deal with the taste?
  15. I'd agree that for losing weight/fitness purposes, Xenadrine/Hydroxycut (a similar product) are most effective if you're working out/running/whatever. Best of all: when taken before a morning workout. This combo promotes maximum thermogenesis (fat-burning) and elevates your metabolic level all day long. Other times, they're just a nifty cheap buzz... On a side note: I had one friend who called them "trucker speed" and tried snorting them. I probably don't need to advise you crackheads against this one but his verdict: OUCH. Resist the urge.
