  1. hacker told me about you, and what a great person you are, as well as the "wisdom" you hold! LOL I will be looking forward to meeting you next time! And I agree with blondy, I *almost* wish there were name tags. Luckily for me, I met with some great people right off who introduced me around a bit. Thanks again, everyone!
  2. ok, now that I have had a few hours sleep, thanks to DaVe and Everyone who put last night together, and it was great to meet you, LavenderMenace, LinaBina,ReginaP, Hacker, apothesis, and if I still left anyone out, I'm sorry! CrystalMethod, where were you? Would have liked to have met ya'. Quoth, you young'uns are too much! I was exhausted by 3am and definitely ready for bed. (Too bad it took me another 4 hours to get home) I think we'll bump into each other sooner or later. Have a great time at the wedding, you too LavenderMenace! Thanks again, everyone, for a great night!
  3. I had such a great time tonight! Thanks to all, 'specially Tasty, Gabo, Ragga, DJJonStephen, and everyone else I met. Sorry, but I just got home, I am sure I will remember more names after some sleep! Thanks again, y'all are incredible!
  4. Looking forward to meeting you, CrystalMethod! Ragga, have him find me by 4p or I am outta here, bus leaves at 4:30.
  5. it would take more than a mere incendiary device to keep me away from you, ragga! wow, there are about a zillion people going, hope to find you in all that! I will probably be in around 7ish. Did gabo get on the list? If not, I may be able to help Let me know!
  6. and both times there has been a bomb scare. First, the day of the America meetup, in the bus station I had to go through, and today in the very building in which I work. I need a drink!
  7. I wasn't thinking about any specific "classification" of a relationship, but I am guessing that in an ongoing, good relationship where both are comfortable, this would already be established between the two. But what about to open things up with a new or early stages relationship? On another thread, a girl asked about emailing a guy with whom she didn't have a relationship, but would want one. Personally, I think that email has good and bad aspects. I hate ambushing a guy with the old "We need to talk", and especially to do that in the early stages to resolve something that needs attention, but is rather minor. Email kind of lets one digest what was written, and provide a well-thought-out answer on the recipient's own time. For me, it is more of a courtesy thing, I need you to know/respond to this, but I don't need to interrupt your (watching the game with the guys, dinner, fun night out, whatever) just to *talk*. Also, you can get a feel for how the other person is by their answer; without hearing how one says something, what they read into it kind of gives away where they are within themselves. I do see the point about the possibilities of it being impersonal for a breakup, and without hearing how someone says something, it could be easy to misinterpret intentions if the author isn't clear
  8. does on the phone count as "in person" or is that only face to face? if the phone is ok, why are other forms not? and what about when distance is a factor?
  9. in this age of technology, how appropriate do you think email/IM are for discussing your relationship with your bf/gf, or someone you are dating? Do you consider it the same as the phone or in person or is there a big difference? why is or why is this not a good way to talk? Guys, is it better than your girl coming out with the ever-dreaded "We need to talk"?
  10. and you didn't ask me? Quoth, I am so very sad! And I just brought in my Levi's denim skirt from the line! Really, if that isn't good, I could go to Walmart for a new outfit.
  11. spragga, with the fogie talk! lol I will be looking for the "golden clubbers" on Friday, save me a wheelchair and order me a prune martini! Hey, Maybe we can get a seniors discount from now on, that is, if we can stay awake long enough for the clubs to open! Seriously, looking forward to seeing you. And what IS the nipple game?
  12. What state? NJ AC=Atlantic City If all goes well, I should be up for the meetup. It IS a payweek, which bodes well for the weekend. Traditional relationships don't work for me. I mean, with all the wonderful people in the world, who came up with the stupid idea that we should have to pick ONE forever? And serial monogamy is a joke. Hmmm, there have to be alternatives!
  13. yes, it does get cold, it is more of a spring summer fall thing if you'll be out of doors for any length of time. However, it can be quite refreshing to roll around in the snow, if you're overheated. Oh, and no boyfriend.
  14. yes, went to the America meet up. I was in the senior citizen section with spragga
  15. seriously, lots of outdoor activities. Hiking, canoeing, lots of horseback riding. Yes we have cable, finally. We get 42 channels. Basically, it is a great to live there, there just isn't anywhere to play, nightlife-wise. Hence I am a wannabe. I love the privacy of my 3 acres, though, especially at night. i love to be naked in the moonlight...
  16. I live in a little one-stoplight town. No really. We have one stop light, no mail delivery, no garbage pickup, no police force (at least that "no" is a blessing!). Ever heard of Tuckerton? Well, we are a suburb of that!
  17. a bad economy just means job security for those of us in social service! Look into it, as when everyone else is crying that they are out of work, we are doing just fine! actually, we haven't seen a major resurgence onto the welfare rolls, so the "underclass" hasn't been hit by a bad economy yet, at least here in SNJ.
  18. I have been in the same type of field, different jobs, for 7 years now. (social service/psych/counseling) Prior to that, for 5 years, I was a dancer. (no not ballet or whatetever, yes go-go). I had no experience in the field and didn't even have my bachelor's. Now, granted, I chose a field that is extremely underpaid for the work that is done, but I didn't expect to make the "big bucks" without experience or a degree. I still don't make even half what PINTU's worth, but the benefits are great with my agency. I think that I could put assholes in teddybears for a living if the working conditions and benes are right. Then again, I would put up with worse conditions for $60k a year. No employer is perfect and it is all a trade off, so if you know what is important to you (not the field, but working conditions, money, travel opportunities, insurance/pension, etc.) put yourself out there and you will find something that will fit you pretty nicely. Good luck with it.
  19. I even took m-w off. 9 days off and it still wasn't enough. Whoever came up with the idea that ALL of us should work? Aren't there other people to do this? LOL
  20. lowmazda, congrats on the new addition to the family, definitely a sweet little baby!
  21. been a long time, but I believe that if you get generic "hamster chow" lol at the pet store (seeds and the like) and throw in some fresh fruits and veggies, it should thrive. Water is usually kept in one of those lick bottles. They are chewers, so they make little wooden sticks for them to do that to. You can also throw in some toilet paper or paper towel cardboard rolls, they will chew on it, hang out in them, and make nests out of them. And don't forget the exercise wheel or ball! Good luck with your baby!
  22. oh, how I hate to have to go back after vacation! I administer the child care subsidies for welfare parents for a neighboring county. It pays crap, so I can only party once a month or so.
