  1. Check out I/O featuring the Spam Allstars in downtown Miami @ 30 NE 14th St., it's also home to PopLife & DHM (Joe Budious knows a lil' mo about the DHM night).

Really cool intimate New York style lounge. It's got 2 rooms & an outdoor terrace area where if you get hungry you can get your grub on homecookin' style with grill grubs that go well with a bloated beer belly.

If you are in the mood or are like me, that like to search for the out-of-the-ordinary venue/party, then you will mos def appreciate the experience. A few months back when I walked in, I had no clue a place like this got goin' like that. Not your typical commercial strip like washington Avenue, it's definately a destination spot. Locals, locals, locals, No hassle parking, a smooth $7 cover & beyond reasonable drink prices that would make Mr.Saleen a proud I/O legend.

So if you are up for it, check it out on a Thursday nite. Guarenteed not to dissapoint. A very fun, no attitude, up for anything kinda crowd. I'll be there, maybe I'll see u... ;)

  3. So it's been a while since I've posted an event, but I figured I'd hold out for a special goodie & here it is...

    Saturday, August 9th

Myself & the Lunar Sessions family presents a lil' variety for our Space cadets on our Terrace featuring a kick ass live performance by

    The Spam Allstars

    Deejay Le Spam

    Mercedes Abal (flute)

    Tomas Diaz (percussion)

    Adam Simmon (guitar)

    Steve Welsh (sax)

If you've seen them live then you've seen the way these guys rock a room. Their sound to me is best described as a smooth groovy blend of Afro cuban jazz, over thick beats & basslines layered & smoothered with lots of f.u.n.k. Oh lets not forget the vocals.. It's like tossing Salsa, House & Jazz in the blender. Not your typical $5 dollar shake.. but Hmmm, that sure is one yummy shake...

Anyways, these guys have been nominated for Latin Grammys & have played pretty much all over the world. Some of you might know them from Fuacata, I/O or might maybe have seen them play @ Revolver, Oxygen, Life, well.. u get the picture...

If you appreciate live performances (Hybrid, Infusion, etc) then you might be caught jammin' out to Spam. hope to see some of you guys out showin' some luv. It's a show you won't forget... ;)

    also featuring the Space residents

    Oscar G

    Roland

    Radamas

    Tony Tone

    Markus Schultz

I have never heard so much noise coming from the crowd...

that was during Roly's opening set. his 2nd to last track. he did some crafty looping & added sound effects. The crowd response was pretty sick. U shoulda been there when he did what he did with the "push" track.. OMG!!

OG on the terrace was insane.. I'm not usually there past 7am but I couldn't help myself this sunday morn... ;)
