  1. To be a little more detailed, I was actually in class when a school official came into our class room and told us that the towers had been struck. Two or three students rushed out of the room because they had family either in the towers or in the vicinity of the strike. Class was obviously dismissed, and a large screen in our amphitheater was turned on so the student body could watch what was going on. At least a quarter of the students were hysterical because they knew someone in the towers. The towers fell while we were watching the broadcast and the most firghtful chorus of shrieks and yells I have ever heard were let out by the hundreds of people watching. Train service was out and virtually no one could get home. I walked home taking the west side highway, walking about 8-10 miles to the Bronx with several thousand other people.
  2. I was at law school. I worked at a law firm three days out of the week in Tower 1. That was one of the days I had off. Lost a coworker and my office and personal belongings in my office were destroyed. I was lucky that's all I lost.
  3. Off the hook. One of the best yet underappreciated DJs New York has to offer. Spins primarily tribal and progressive house. Some productions you might wanna check out: That Kid Chris - Come together Lamya - Empires (That Kid Chris Remix) That Kid Chris and DJ Mada - Activate That Kid Chris - Find Yourself (Deep Mix) Angel Moraes - Tribal Function (That Kid Chris Remix) John Digweed - Spiritual (That Kid Chris Remix) to name a few . . .
  4. Some of the finest insults I've seen in a long time. I don't give a fuck who he is, rock on Rizzo.
  5. I will enjoy the spectacle of Miami pouncing on the double-A scrubs in Gainsville.
  6. Good mixing and track selection--very diverse selection of music. Nice work overall.
  7. Great review. I've been there 70-80 times altogether in 4 years and although I don't think JP is what he used to be and although I've had awful nights there, you just summed up every reason why I always go back. Most important reason for me - the VIBE. I know if it was awful you would have said so. Glad you had a good time. Some of the people here who have nothing but negative things to say about the place have never even been there. I know this because they have asked to go with me, or they have told me they've wanted to go check it out for the first time. You know who you are. Try it, you might like it.
  8. Frankly I could care less if a DJ/band/musician boils newborn babies and eats them. Good music is good music.
  9. Great 105 minute set. Bangin house and interstrewn with some tribal. Download here: http://d2k.x2.nu/
  10. Mosey on down there Missy. And in 98 and 99 he was amazing. I say this partying totally sober. He does not show the creativity he used to show back then, but irrespective of the fact that he doesn't have the international recognition that a Danny Tenaglia has, he has SO MUCH talent. When he is ON, not many DJs can touch him. JP does play vocals, but they don't fall into the CHEESE category IMO, certainly not KTU cheese. He has been playing more progressive house as of late, which is a positive IMO e.g., tracks by That Kid Chris, Echomen, Afro Beat Kingz etc. I'll be the first to bash JP when I think he sucks. Last time I heard him he was good, and based on what regulars have been telling me the past few months, he's been great.

  12. LoL. Welcome aboard. See ya at Factory.
  13. If it will piss off even more those people that constantly whine about juiceheads, strippers and trannies ruining the scene, I'm all for it.
  14. Guvernment. Go there.
  15. I gotta agree. Sounds awesome at Factory turned all the way up and with bass overload. However, I can see KTU getting it's hands on it and killing it in a matter of time.
  16. Highlights of the morning. *That Kid Chris - Come Together *Echomen - Substance *Austin Leeds - Salvation (Luke Fair Remix) *Franklin Fuentes - Gay or Straight *Loads of tech. *Vivacious's performance. *Watching Jon Stephen show up. Great set except at the end I was bored to tears with the garbage he played. Nice meeting Steve, Dmitry, and Graydon.
  17. Third floor. I'll be hanging with Sue and hopefully a few more slackers. 7-8AM on.
  18. Factory. . . it's been 3 months, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
