    Hello From New York

I did'n't say the music sucks. Just not my style. I am looking more forward to the Winter Music Conference concidering that that is basiclly the only time I find myself surrounded by true Electronic Dance Music (and the CP BBQ's). Our locals are great and they have my support all the way but the vibe I crave usually only comes around two weeks out of the year.......WMC. (Call me Euro) and in my bedroom of course Never the less, I am still open minded to most sounds so I will make the best of what New York has to offer. Have fun in Miami everyone. PS: xxgrooveericxx I am having some buddies here hunt down a copy of "Jayn Hanna - Lost" for you so if I find it....expect an early Christmas Gift. No promises though. Peace, OBBY

    Hello From New York

For all of you that say New York puts Miami to shame. I myself have been here three days already. Been club hoping here and there and must say…..very disappointed. The clubs it’s itself are very beautiful but the sounds….how can I say this in a nice way……the sounds are very feminine. I went to check out one of New York’s best DJ’s Little Louie Vega who I though would impress me but unfortunately did not. So far all I have heard is retro disco sounding house. I am guessing this is the “classic†stuff Saleen is always requesting Miami to play DON’T DO IT MIAMI I do give the DJ’s here props for their mixing skills but come on. Disco is out. Been out. So far I have yet to find a good Progressive House or Deep House event so as of now. I am already looking forward in getting back home to beautiful Miami and my vinyls. For the record guys, we have it made in Miami!!!!! Keep that in mind. Miami has more Euro sounds which to me are way more advanced than many other cities. DEEP and INTELLIGENT. Nevertheless, I am having a great time here in New York. The restaurants are great and the people have been nothing but friendly to me. New Yorkers have my respect. I will be hitting all the vinyl shops for the next three days so expect some fresh new "Euro" sounds when I get back. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Peace, OBBY Sounds Of The Underground

  5. Good memory. Nice to hear you enjoyed it. I myself love that track and still get "lost" when I play that vinyl. It was originally remixed by Evolution back in 1995 and was reworked about three years ago by Bill Hamel. The Hamel mix is the one I played. Although somewhat old, still one of my favorites. I was sooooo drunk from the "Juicy Juice and Vodka (you guys have to try this) that I didn't even remember looking out to everyone to see if they where enjoying it. In other words...I was in a serious faze. I was expecting Pod to walk out in the middle of my set but I guess he bit his tongue and stuck around for the annoying "trance sounds". Here is a sample of the "Jayn Hanna - Lost" Sample Here You will need RealPlayer to sample this gem. OBBY

  10. IS PARIS HILTON THE VICTIM OF SHANNEN DOHERTY'S ULTIMATE REVENGE? Paris Hilton HOTEL heiress Paris Hilton was convinced that "Charmed" star Shannen Doherty was behind the embarrassing porn tape showing Paris having sex with Shannen's ex-husband Rick Salomon. The socialite even placed irate phone calls to Shannen, who's now host of "Scare Tactics," The ENQUIRER has learned. Paris, 22, was in Australia when the scandal broke about the video, which was reportedly made three years ago - before Shannen married and separated from on-line betting entrepreneur Salomon - and was recently leaked to an Internet porn site. "S h a n n e n brushed off Paris' angry calls, saying she had nothing to do with it," a friend of the actress told The ENQUIRER. "Of course Shannen's probably delighted to see Paris publicly humiliated because when her short marriage to Rick ended, Paris resumed dating him" Paris is one of the stars of FOX's new reality series "The Simple Life," in which the party girl goes to live in a working-class environment. "I bet Shannen thinks Paris is an untalented, spoiled rich girl," another friend disclosed. "Paris for her part thinks Shannen's a mess, always causing trouble. But at the same time she envies her acting success. "You can truly say they detest each other - but I know Shannen had nothing to do with sending the video." On November 12, Salomon filed a $10 million slander lawsuit against Paris and her family, maintaining that Paris was an "active participant" in making the video but she and her family have waged "a cold, calculated and malicious campaign to portray Salomon as a rapist" to protect her image. And now the scandal has brought out even more skeletons from Paris' closet. Published reports have stated that she's appeared in at least 10 amateur porn tapes - with one report claiming she filmed a tryst with Nicole Lenz, a Frederick's Published on: November 24, 2003

  18. Indigo Child - Head First EP Yunus Guvenen is perhaps what you could call a unique individual. Every track he writes has some story behind it, every EP released has some meaning to it. His unusual approach to music has so far resulted in eight singles, half of them EPs. He has changed his approach and way of thinking at times to enable him to achieve the results he desires. Very much the attributes of an Indigo Child, and the 'Head First EP' showcases the latest sounds to emerge from another tangent of Yunus' experimental mind, via this, his fourth single for Silver Planet. Panning saw-like sounds spin back and forth as the the introduction of 'Take A Breath Of You' forms, soft beats rising up and down over the subtle groove that emerges underneath the sounds, soon developing into the main percussive section of the track. Vibrant effects and haunting strings add a sense of depth and almost a delicate grandeur to the mood of the track, culminating in a big melodic sweep style breakdown. The finale is a tougher drum led section, with all the sounds and melodies blending together like parts of a machine, closing down after it's intended instruction has been carried out, in the intricate and mysterious way that Yunus arranges his tracks. 'Underwater' continues on with the theme nicely, with Yunus' deep psychological ideas captured within this track. Tight drum programming is prevalent as it begins, but it's hard not to get captivated by the melody and drawn away from the other elements as the track builds up. However credit has to be given to the superb bassline and effects that fill out the soundscape, as they are the elements that really draw out the melodic hooks and small breaks of this sublime, melancholic number, and it's those same drums from the start that are left standing at the end. Once again, Yunus fuses elements from many musical genres in a myriad of sounds, but developing them in a different direction to his previous work. Whether he chooses to venture further in this particular direction remains to be seen, but the thinking man's producer never fails to impress, as this is yet another great single from one Turkey's finest exports. Sample Here Enjoy, OBBY
