Unless you have been here and know what its like, you cant form an opinion. So if you say it sucks, how do you know? FYI - most clubs in LA do not close at 2 but more between 4 - 9. It depends where you go.

guyman1966 - why do they suck? I would like to know what reasons you have for this statement. I dont think Miami is what it used to be in the mid 90's but it doesnt suck. I would still choose LA over Miami for clubbing because i know no matter where i go, the vibe will be awesome all night and not for a couple hours and then everybody disappears and goes to the next club.

POD - when is the last time you been to LA? I would agree with you if this comment was made 2 years ago but in the last couple of years the LA scene as exploded and house music is played at most clubs. There are places to go for techno and trance but house music rules the scene here. I have been going to Miami since 97 a couple times a year and i see less people in clubs there every year. I remember the Shadow Lounge days (AMAZING VIBE).

Yeah the song hasnt been played in LA the times ive been out recently. I did hear it when i was there for Howellween and it ROCKED!!! I love the way the crowd just goes apeshit when it comes on.

Back from Miami I arrived on Friday but I was tired from being out all night on Thursday, so I got to my hotel at midnight and slept. My friends agreed to go with me to Miami if we went to Key West on the weekend, so I went and it was fun. I had some rice crispy herb treats that I prepared specially for this trip and I was trippin at the people who came out for this Fantasy Fest thing. Monday we head back to SoBe and again all tired and deprived of sleep, we sleep as soon as we arrive. We get out at about 10 had something to eat and since I really didn’t know where to go we head over to Crobar to check if its open and it was. It was interesting!! I wanted to ask around if there were any CP heads there but I started seeing guys in drag all over the place and thought, maybe not. I heard music I haven’t heard in so many years. The DJ would play some 80s music and interrupt with some house. It was driving me crazy!! so I left. I didn’t leave because of the 80's music cause it was cool hearing it. I just wish the dj would have play a set of 80's and then a set of house but it just went back and forth. Tuesday we did the tourist stuff Beach, Ocean Drive, Downtown, etc.. I keep seeing less and less people out there each time I go. I guess it is as bad as I heard. Wednesday we chilled almost all day and then headed over to Greed early at about 10:45 but I was told by the door lady that it was a private party for Ocean Drive Magazine so I took it as a your not getting in with those jeans and left and spent my money on a nice dinner. I try to avoid places that cater to the "VIP" crowds (I prefer the freedom of clubs that cater to the music lover/supporter). So now i am thinking I wont be able to party with the CP junkies unless I meet some at Spin on Thursday for Danny Howells. Thursday I call Spin to find out what time Danny is spinning and the girl offers to put me on the house list (THANK YOU AGAIN). So I get there early for the comp entry and I see Oscar G on the decks playing some cool shit so I danced and danced and danced. Then Dark Beat comes on and the crowd goes APE SHIT. I heard it before at home but when you hear it in a club, its f**king awesome (even I went ape shit). I didn’t even ask around for CP junkies because I on that dance floor. The night came to an end and I don’t remember anything after that until the next day when I have to get up and get my arse to the airport and get home in time for my brother's wedding. I was hoping to meet some of you there but there always WMC 2003.

Giant LA hasnt been too active this year. They are building a new club in the hollywood area that should open sometime this year or early next year. The last event they held was not even in LA but Los Cabos, Mexico a couple months ago. They have an event this Friday with a 6 hour Deep Dish set. After that there is only Giant Village on NYE. If they would have been more active this year, i think they would have made the top 20 for sure.

I have a ideas about this too that dont have to do with the Miami scene entirely, but it contributes a bit i think. In Recent years the music scene has been spread out through the states more and more. You hear about parties all over. I used to live in LA a few years ago before moving to San Diego and remember what it was like. It has changed alot. The music scene is growing stronger with time. It seems that there is always a superclub, lounge, dive bar that you could hit and hear quality music from superstar DJs whether its a weekday or weekend (sometimes choices are hard). I see this happening throughout California. It seems that no matter where you go, there is a large crowd. Clubs now are a mix of glam, celebs, clubber, meat head, stripper crowds. New clubs/parties are being started alot lately. I dont know how it is anywhere else but that what i have seen here in california. Miami was ahead of the game i think for a long time and now it seems that the other major cities are catching up. So people who once went to Miami for the music scene only, will probably think twice now. I remember the first time being in Miami in 97'. I was F***EN AMAZED by the music, vibe, people, city. I have been going back at least once a year and i do agree, its not the same. I still love it though!!! Anyway, thats my 2 cents.

The last time i was at Level they only had the main room and the hip hop room open. I didnt get a chance to check the rest of it out. It was in April and it was pretty dead. Have things picked up recently?

Then i decided to check out Lee B and JVM at crobar but that has been cancelled or moved. :confused: Somebody please help me out here. Where can i find an updated schedule? Where will the Miami CP crew be at? It would be cool to meet up with some of you and have a drink or two or three or four.

After hearing the rumors about Space on friday nights moving to Spin, i emailed space to ask about Marco V on the 25th and the response back was that it has been postponed until later this year. Is there anything else going on the 25th?

It happens, but not too often and its usually someone im out with that gets burned out before me. BTW, i will be in Miami in two weeks and cant wait to get FUBAR with all the party ppl of Miami. Me, im there to drink and experience the music with the company of my friends. When the alcohol is gone i still have the music and my friends.

I've never been out there, but from my friends who live there and party there, its lame...2am closing time, no good music etc.... Where do your friends go? Everytime i go out its usually over between 4am - 6am and sometimes until 9am. Alcohol is not served after 2am but the party goes on til at least 4. About the music, LA books the most of the same talent that Miami books. I dont want to get into this is place is better than this place because i dont believe in that childish shit. LA is LA and Miami is Miami (different experiences). Shiny Disco Balls has been played here for months now and i agree it did get played out already.

If Marco V will be spinning for sure at Space on the 25th? I thought i saw this somewhere and booked a hotel in DT Miami for this event. I called Space to confirm but they could not tell me anything. All they told me was to call a week before the 25th. If this is not happening i need to plan something else. Where will the CPers be on the 25th (maybe i can meet some of you)?

Has anyone on this board been to Fantasy Fest? A couple of friends want to go and then stop at SOBE afterwards. I just dont know what to expect from this Fantasy Fest. So if anyone has been there, can you just give me an idea of what goes on there?
