Get the garden room (cheapest) with patio overlooking the pool. Is on the 4 corners (with Excal, NYNY and MGM). You can cab it or watch -- puma,strutting (long walk) -- over to the Bellagio area.

With those choices .... I prefer Tropicana for that price range. Monte Carlo is very nice - suprisingly nice for what you get. And the pool is small but very cool.

Memorable Rainbow experience .... What appeared to be a very drunk very famous rocker .. talll.... 6'6+ ... started swaying like the wind standing next to me in the back room. My buddy grabbed my arm and said run for the door, the guy is gonna fall. I wasn't nor more than 4 feet away and the rocker collapsed on some small tourist dude. It was like a tree collapsing lol.
