  1. I think it should be Pankaj and Matt Edwards, right? are they not going by "trendroid" anymore? this is the second time i've seen them listed as their names.
  2. good point dan, but at least EDM is a staple over there. the only place you hear EDM in the mainstream here is in commercials. I thought she would actually start making some fat tracks bc she had such badass producers, but oh well. the stuff she did with the Neptunes was tight. But now she just comes off as an industry lacky. all that bullshit about "artistic freedom", my ass. try to say that she's a rolemodel for girls, and then try to defend masturbation as "sacred"? wtf? i bet her PR peeps were freaking...
  3. I can't stand these pop bitches....ya, she's hot, but whatever. from an op-ed i just read: Britney is also trying to sell units with the song "Touch of My Hand," an ode to masturbation. She imparted her wisdom to Diane Sawyer: "I can relate to that song. And like, we all can -- you'd be lying if you said you couldn't." (But not if you're 10 and idolize Britney Spears.) Then she lamely continued: "I mean, it's not something you openly talk about with a lot of people, it's something sacred; and it's something I wanted to write about, so." Even Diane winced: "Sacred?" Britney started to struggle: "No, the song, 'Touch of My Hand,' talking about indulging in yourself." Diane again: "And that's sacred?" Britney's brain, like, collapsed: "It is sacred to me, but in a way, explaining, um, OK, I'm confusing myself right now." bwahahahaa!

  19. Greetings DCNC members! In this email, there are two opportunities for you to help prevent small groups of complainers from shutting down D.C.’s nightlife and dance music scene. Please, show your support! First, there is a Special Event to help raise funds for the D.C. Nightlife Coalition. The event takes place this Sunday, November 16, and will feature two prominent local DJs, Buster and Kris Murphy. In addition to being a fundraiser, this event will draw attention to, and provide information, regarding the upcoming D.C. Council hearings discussed below. More information on this Special Event is available below. And you can check out the e-flyer at http://www.dcnc.org/files/VelvetFlier.jpg Second, the D.C. Council has scheduled hearings to discuss proposed changes to the regulations effecting all liquor-licensed venues in the District. Currently, the regulations severely restrict the rights of nightlife supporters and allow for rampant abuse by those who wish to attack nightlife. The D.C. Nightlife Coalition will be testifying at the hearings on November 19th and 20th and we encourage all those that support nightlife to attend. The specific times when DCNC officers will be testifying will be provided as soon as it is available. Further, if you wish to testify yourself, please see below for the details on how to sign up. But be aware that the deadline to sign up is this FRIDAY, November 14. We highly recommend that our members that have been involved with the ABC regulations campaign, or those members that are involved with D.C.’s nightlife and dance music scene as a promoter, DJ, musician or artist, to testify. Thank you for your continued support and we hope to see you at these upcoming events! ============================================ SPECIAL EVENT When: Sunday, November 16th Time: 9:00 pm - 1:00 am Where: Velvet Lounge, 915 U St. NW, Washington, DC across from the U St. / Cardoza Metro Station - Green Line Featuring: special guest DJs BUSTER (Snowball Collective, Buzzlife) KRIS MURPHY (Gua-Rapo) a $5 donation will be asked at the door ============================================ LAST CALL for D.C.
