Nightlife Coalition When: Sunday, November 16th Time: 9:00 pm - 1:00 am Where: Velvet Lounge 915 U St. washington, dc across from the U St. / Cardoza Metro Station - Green Line Featuring: special guest DJs BUSTER (Snowball Collective, Buzzlife) KRIS MURPHY (Gua-Rapo) a $5 donation will be asked at the door The D.C Council has recently scheduled hearings to discuss proposed changes to the regulations effecting all liquor-licensed venues in the District. Currently, the regulations severely restrict the rights of nightlife supporters and allow for rampant abuse by those who wish to attack nightlife. These hearings will finally give the voice of the pro-nightlife majority a chance to be heard. The D.C. Nightlife Coalition (DCNC) will be testifying at the hearings on November 19th and 20th and we encourage all those that support nightlife to attend. Prior to the hearings, on Sunday, November 16, DCNC will be hosting a Special Event at Velvet Lounge to increase awareness about the issues facing the future of nightlife in the District and the impact of the proposed regulations. From restaurants and lounges to sidewalk cafes and theatre playhouses, if you support an active and diverse nightlife in the city, we ask you to come show your support at this very important event. All of the proceeds raised from the event will go towards DCNC’s mission of educating the public about the abuses of the regulatory process and for advocating serious reform of D.C. laws effecting nightlife venues. I've recorded some dooseys back in the day...can't even hardly listen to my old mixes except to get a good laff....but pretty much they all kinda sound the same - tennis shoes in the dryer.

about 1/3 of all the songs I get into every month come from listening to other people's mixes. The rest are from web sites, charts, msgbds and random shit that people send me. I think listening to other djs, especially ones you respect, is a great way to hear different sounds and different artists. I personally hate James Zabiela (*ducks*), but I still listen to him from time to time bc he influences a lot of people.

the main reason i decided to dj was so i could hear songs that i like. so, ya, just like kuro said, i wanna hear those songs, not to hear me put two songs together
