  1. I know how hard you guys have worked to make this be true ... it is a dream for all of us ... YOUR fans ...

The 25th should be a nite to remember ... things done with passion ... can only have one result ... SUCCESS ...

Can't wait for Harvey ... he is a true legend ... and legends know ...

Great talent ... great taste for music ... great reading of crowds ....

they've made it this far without any support ... could be their year ...

Miami needs new faces to help the scene ... I believe they will be a part of the nubreed of great Miami talent ...

    :hat:

  3. Have counted the days for u 2b back ... last November was awesome indeed ... without doubts ... your music brought out the best of the beautiful and vibeful crowd that follows PMS ...

The energy down at Reserved was sooooo huge ... it could have filled up that main room at Maze ... what a nice way to start ...

Demi ... welcome to Miami ... and to YOUR crowd ...

Music + right crowd = vibe ... and that is what Miami really needs ... it is not numbers its quality ... and being real ...

those guys at Maze made the dreamed about club ... can't f***ing wait ... my red shoes are shinny ... and ready ...

BTW ... I heard three different crews will be filming and covering the event ... I guess it's time for a real change in the way some things are put together ...

    :hat:

  4. The problem I saw was lack of management ... and $$$ to support the place ...

It's a great venue ... but IMHO their success was thru independent parties/promoters ... lets just hope they can find the right match ...

B4 Aquabooty took over Sats ... it was lame ... b4 PMS took over Fridays ... they had ten people showing up ... BDLC had some really good nites ... Thursdays b4 them were on the down hill ... Tuesdays used to be good there with the 1st owners ... it was more a get away on Tuesdays ... have no idea of how they did with Spider -p... but ...

there is plenty of hardworking promoters with great ideas out there ... hopefully they will be trusted ... but most importantly ... supported ...

any hint on who the new owners are ??? ... I wish them all good luck ...

    :hat:

  5. Two things I heard/know ......

The Friday events I read are only a part of what Maze has on hands for their Fridays ... they are events scheduled by PMS ...

Both PMS and Aquabooty make their own decisions as to who they bring as guest DJs ... both parties have great talent in their resident DJs ...

I heard of line-ups ... and I guess as they are confirmed ... they will be posted officially ... they are awesome ....

This gives 100% hope to Saleen ... the main room at Maze is open for talent ... and they have some really neat stuff on the works ...

You are so right Marick ... add to that it was on a Thursday  ...

    Can't wait for ........

Sooooooooo sad to hear Sander won't be at Space this Sat .... his set at Crobar on 4/12/02 was my absolute favorite last year ... couldn't wait to hear him at Space ... specially after the awesome vibe I saw for DT last Sat. ...

Pleeeeease ... force him to play a really extended set when he gets down here next time ... I was so ready for him ...

OG will rock the place like he always does ... and the patio ... even with the cold weather should be on fire ... good luck Roly !!! ...

I've been to Lola a number of times since i moved here in the middle of last year. Most of those times I walked in around midnight to find the place nearly empty. By "nearly empty," I mean two people at the pool table and two people at the bar. And this is with Mono and Chris manning the decks. I've never seen more than 30 people inside that place. I'm not a nightlife business expert, but I think that's nothing short of poor promotion.

Anyway, I'm just happy that PMS is alive and well.

U r so right Macboy ... those guys Chris and Mono couldn't get 30 people together not even for their funeral ...

BTW ... anything u say about them is so accurate ... I guess you can't stand their inevitable success ...

Lola went down ever since those guys left in mid October ... a shame they had that moron as manager of such a nice venue ... the guy can't tell the difference between house and cumbia ...

  8. I still have a huge smile on my face ... Danny came to Space with a huge debt w/us on his back ...

The last couple times he came I was seriously disappointed ... perhaps thinking his motivation was on the decline ... Be Yourself is about creating the right atmosphere to just open up a sick vibe on the crowd ...

Last couple times Danny had given us a lesson of how boring drums and tribal can be when the sequence just treats us as if we were only monkeys that can jump ... and jump ... and jump ...

Last night ... and without any doubt whatsoever ... DT gave us a true Be Yourself vibe ... he worked his crowd up ... changing up beats and dropping vocals that had everyone going ... and then he had the crowd at his feet ... ready to pound us with drums and rythms ...

I am not the most loyal Space clubber ... but show up religiously when there is something good on hand ... last night ... in terms of vibe ... was the best crowd I ever saw at Space ... and the one responsible was a dedicated DT ... he gained back the respect that his local fans always had for him ...

What an awesome set ... when DT is on fire ... really no one comes close to him ... :hat:

So, as it turns out, I was there...basicly by myself at 1am, looking around and kinda sayin hi to people I don't really know...so, I don't know if I greeted some of you or not...the ones I know, where not there.

I realized I was @ Maze basicly by myself...so, instead of turning back and going home...I decided to survey the multishaped sonic monster...I'm glad I stayed...I had my very own Maze experience...I went around the place, stopping at every possible corner to just imagine the house full to capacity with a thousand bodies dancing...man, it's only a matter of time...this place has all the elements that legends are build upon.

The sound is absolutely delicious...personally, I have never in my long history of clubbing felt the sensation of completion and satisfaction that I get from Maze...the ultimate clubbing machine.

I'm absolutely humbled by the beauty and infrastructure of the place, really.

As much as it serves as an optical illustration ... and being one the fortunate few who have been there ... it is a club on a league of its own ... as damn attractive as anyone can find it ... the sound is simply midblowing ... very soon that place will pick-up ... and when it does it will be more a take-off ...

    BTW ... I heard rumours that ... :eek::hat:

I know it's a joke Meli ... sorry for the long posts ... I tried to minimize the number of words w/out compromising the concept I was laying ...

As to Saleen ... I respect his opinions very much ... it is never my intention to compete with him or with any other ... be it CP or elsewhere ...

glad u read what I wrote ... it is only my view ... we all learn from each other ... it is a two way street ...

It is undisputed the importance that trance had on the establishment of dance electronic music... in its beginning ... trance is all we had ... it is how we learned to love and appreciate electronic music in a larger scale ...

the popularity of drugs like xtc started in the late eighties and early nineties ... being trance the medium of music ... clubbers got the inmediate association of trance and xtc ...

the producers of the early trance tracks took into consideration the "feeling" their clubbers went thru in their clubbing nite experience ... the bpms and ups and downs of the tracks seemed to maximize the efects on the clubber ...

progressive house took over the mainframe of electronic music by bringing in a more sounds into the structure ... the different sounds interacting at the same time created a new effect on the clubbers "head" ... the need of high energy bpm was indeed reduced ...

in this process ... trance saw its number of followers reduced ... a new sound that brought optimal effects ... more of a journey ... instead of a constant high peak of corporal extassy as trance did ...

the fact that proggy still plays with your brain as trance does ... has kept the use of xtc in clubs ... the base of clubbers has grown ... the old school trance heads that turned into proggy don't need xtc no more to understand what they felt ... the flashback is inmediate ... alcohol is enough ... the need to "roll" is occasional ...

new sounds have started to evolve ... sounds that incorporate in a minimum amount the need of a track to attack the "mind" ... sounds that are meant to play with your body as oppossed to your brain ... the source is tribal and breaks ... is rythms ... their problem ... they are monotonous for a whole nite...

mixing proggy and breaks frees the mind and allows to play with the body ... the new genres of music .. and their producers ... take this into account ... that is the new direction of dance music ... it is still in the shades ... but it is growing thru exposure ...

As GA2 said ... deep house doesn't need a chemical stimulant to get you going ... it's not an adrenalin rush ... it is a fun time with rythms ... vocals ... and the only legal drug that maximizes club owners pockets ... alcohol

there is a bridge between deep house and the proggy sounds of house ... and that bridge still gives you a faster bpm than deep house ... but its mainframe isn't adrenalin oriented like trance and its successor proggy ... the grow of this new sound will swallow in an inversely proportional manner ... the followers of trance ... think of trance being in the far right ... deep house in the far left ... proggy in between both ... techy and funky house in between deep and proggy ... the boundary between proggy and funk house is clear ... the first still needs to play with your head ... the latter only with your body ...

I don't need to convince anyone ... just think about it ... music evolves ...

    :hat:

Forgot to mention the perfect example for us living in S.Fl ... this is exactly what Deep Dish was trying to do at Space ... some of us hated it ... some of us loved it ... in any transition period that is normal ... but the evolution of electronic music is not only inevitable ... it already started ...

As to glow styx ... weeks ago I brought the attention of the sunglasses at clubs ... tried to link it with glow styx ... it's an acknowledgement of the behind the scenes inducer to both accessories ... not all electronic music needs drugs as its influence ... it's not only healthier to the body ... it is indeed a more legal mainframe altogether ... drug induced sounds will always have government offices on their @$$e$ ... and generate less revenue to the clubs ...

As far as I have been told ... xtc has taken a huge blow by gov't offices in the past year ... the lack of supply has also affected the club scene ... not as much as the economy or the lack of tourists ... but has paid its dues on the crowds ...

it will take time for friendlier sounds to take over ... they will be on the cutting edge of music to start ... but the same way proggy evolved... friendlier beats will evolve ... it is inevitable ...
